Kleidos Challenge In-Depth Video Guide

Guide containing all 16 Kleidos challenges, all the information you need to know about them, how to beat them, step by step. And of course, videos included! All on Prince of Darkness difficulty.

Introduction

Welcome to my personal Kleidos Challenge In-Depth guide!

First of all, I would like to thank you for your interest and time as it means a lot to have you reading this! I'll keep this section as brief as possible, since, if you are already here, then that possibly means you already know what a Kleidos Challenge is, you just want to jump right into it, and most important... are determined to beat them all!

Let's get to the point, shall we?

In this guide I'll be showing you all you need to know and how to approach them in order to beat them.

The format for this guide is pretty straightforward. I'll give you a brief description of the challenge, what you need to do in order to beat it, and lastly, the video explains everything thoroughly.

These challenges range from easy to hard but that not necessary mean the difficulty is standard as something that might be hard for some can be easy for other and vise-versa.

Also I'm just showing how to beat them, that doesn't necessary mean that you will insta-beat the challenges just for watching the videos. Some of these take time and patience... I'm just helping you understand what you need to do. In the end it is all up to your skills and determination.

I play hack n Slash games with the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver so the notations and conversion will be heavily based on the Xbox 360's scheme (Button Layout, etc.). Fortunately, I also name the moves I use etc.

At the end of each section I'll be including the videos. Each video has the guide in it and of course the run itself. I would also like to point out that in the run I'm aiming for entertainment so you don't get bored, instead, get motivated to dominate the challenges. Also some videos offer better runs in them, don't forget to check those out!

Preparation

In order to stand a chance you need:

• Max health level - Pretty self explanatory. The more health you possess, the better chances to survive.
  
  
• Max Void/Chaos meter - While these aren't crucial for the most part. You'll need the most power you can have for certain challenges.
  
  
• All abilities - You'll definitely need all your arsenal in order to make things easier. You can attempt to beat these by the time you acquire Mist and Demonic Wings. They will prove the most valuable in the end...
  
  
• Max weapon level - Max level means you will hit harder and make the challenges a bit easier.

Prefered Moves

General

Sumersault - This is invaluable to escape and also to flank defensive enemies (Shielded).

Shadow Whip

Sustained Whip - Great Damage/Range/Stun
Sustained Sweep - Great Damage when combined with it's upgrade.
Rising Whip - Great Damage/Launches for Guillotine followups.
Rising Sweep - Same as Rising Whip.
Guillotine - Most damaging in the air. Great range too.

Void Sword

Sustained Stab - Just for healing.
Sustained Slash - Same as Sustained Stab.
Void Shield - The ultimate defensive but it kills your meter. Use it wisely...

Chaos Claws

Flame Claws - My most prefered move from the powers. It simply devastates all on it's path without leaving you that vulnerable.
Meteorite - My favorite in the air.

Miscellaneous Information

Mist Form

• Can go through enemies.
  
• Can go through unblockable attacks.
  
• Cannot go through elemental unblockable attacks/projectiles (Ex. Jailer lit hammer, Dark Monk projectiles, fire, etc.)
  
• Can escape grapple/supress/impaling attacks. Don't mash buttons and waste time.

Triple Jump

After double jumping, you can also somersault in the air for a third "jump". This, however, requires strict timing and practice. To do it you must somersault when you are about to land from the jump (when about to touch the ground.). This is useful if you get caught while jumping and are about to land on a hazardous floor etc. That way you can avoid sticky situations.

Replenishing Health/Powers

You can replenish in the "The death of Sir Chester" and "The dead arise" challenges.

For the Chester challenge, Chaos Bomb each jailer twice to blow their armor and then quickly use Void Projectile to unlit their hammers. From there simply build your focus meter by synchroBlocking their attacks which are easy to react to, while healing/absorbing orbs in the process.

For the The dead arise simply play normal while avoiding their attacks which shouldn't be difficult.

Synchronized Block

If you haven't, you should master it as it is one of your most devastating tools in your arsenal. Synchronized block combos both gives you a great amount of focus meter and a huge advantage over your enemy. Learn the enemy moves and you should be SBing a lot.

Kleidos Legend achievement

You unlock the Prince of Darkness difficulty by beating the game on any difficulty. As soon as you beat the game, you are given a "free-roam mode" so you can get whatever you've missed in your playthrough. Once you are in free-roam mode you can go to "configuration" and change the difficulty to PoD. From there you can work on the achievement as it does count from there on. No need to New Game+ for the Kleidos Legend achievement

Execution

Executions are valuable for two reasons. First, it heals you. Second, it stops the enemies from attacking you, although moves/projectiles that have already been done/on their way may still hurt you in some cases. Do it when you are in a tight situation or simply need to heal and you aren't allowed/can't to use Void to do so.

Talisman of the Dragon

Avoid using the Talisman of the Dragon when shield break challenges are present as it does break shields, failing you the trials.

Challenge 1: The death of Sir Chester

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 3 Jailers

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies
  
• Trial 2 - Cannot use Chaos Power
  
• Trial 3 - Destroy all enemies without more than 20 seconds elapsing between kills.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat all 3 previous trials in a single run.

Strategy:

The easy way - Simply use a Talisman of the Dragon to insta-beat the challenge.

The hard way - drop all enemies' health to the lowest posible without putting them into the execution animation. The best way to hit them is after they do their unblockable attacks as they are quite vulnerable afterwards.

Don't forget to use Mist Form to your advantage as you can avoid most unblockable attacks with it.

You can also Synchronize Block their attacks and quickly Sumersault to their backs to extend the punishment.

Challenge 2: Infection: First seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 3 waves of 4 Possessed Citizens and 2 Satan Soldiers.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies
  
• Trial 2 - Cannot use Void or Chaos Powers.
  
• Trial 3 - Maintain full Focus meter for 30 seconds straight.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat all 3 previous trials in a single run.

Strategy:

Play normally until your focus meter is about to max out. From there use a Stola's Clock and max the meter by playing hit and run until 30 seconds have been met. From there proceed as normal without getting killed.

The best way to fill focus meter is by successfully doing a Synchronized Block Combo. Other good ways are the full Guillotine Combo and full Sustained Whip/Sweep combos.

Challenge 3: The agony of Sir Reginar

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 2 Harpies and 3 Dishonored Vampires.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Kill Harpies using projectiles only.
  
• Trial 3 - Don't break a single shield, don't be drained more than 50 points.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat the first 3 trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Freeze all enemies.
  
• 2.) Quickly kill the Harpies with Chaos Bombs.
  
• 3.) Freeze remaining enemies.
  
• 4.) Finish them off.

Challenge 4: The torture of Sir Nualan

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 2 Dungeon Jailers and waves of 3 Dungeon Minions.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Get the Dungeon Jailer to kill 6 Dungeon Minions.
  
• Trial 3 - Kill 9 Minions without restoring health by any means.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat the first 3 trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Throw 2 Chaos Bombs to each Jailer.
  
• 2.) Kill one of the Jailers quickly as we only need one for the challenge.
  
• 3.) When the Minions spawn try to kill 2 and leave one so it's easier to bait the Jailer to kill it. Rinse and repeat until you beat trials 2 and 3.
  
• 4.) Kill the last Jailer quickly to avoid further Minion spawning.
  
  Note: You can heal once you complete trial 3.

Challenge 5: The torment of Sir Torlios

*One of my favorites.

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 4 Blood Skeletons

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Kill 8 Skeletons before finishing the Bloodpools.
  
• Trial 3 - Beat the challenge without breaking a single shield.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat the first 3 trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Freeze all enemies.
  
• 2.) Kill a Skeleton and quickly dispose of the Bloodpool. Rinse and repeat until there's only one Bloodpool.
  
• 3.) Keep killing just the Skeletons until the trial 2 has been beaten.
  
• 4.) Finish the last Bloodpool.

Challenge 6: The madness of Sir Gerard

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 3 Blood Skeletons and 3 Dishonored Vampires.

• Trial 1 - You must only use the weapons authorized at the moment.
  
• Trial 2 - Defeat all enemies without restoring life with the Void Sword.
  
• Trial 3 - No shield breaks or Talisman of the Dragon.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat the first 3 trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) You start with Void/Whip. Freeze all enemies starting from the far left to the far right. Once every enemy is frozen, use a Stola's Clock.
  
• 2.) Quickly kill the far right Skeleton.
  
• 3.) Play passive until you can either use Void/Whip or Whip/Chaos.
  
• 4.) Prepare Void Sword for when Void/Whip begins and start over again (step 1) until the challenge is over. Patience is a virtue...
  
  Note: You can use Void Sword when having full health as you won't be healing the damage you do although it is risky.

Challenge 7: Infection: Second seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 50 Possessed Citizens.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies without letting Trevor die.
  
• Trial 2 - Can't activate Void Power.
  
• Trial 3 - Can't use Relics.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat the first 3 trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Activate Chaos Power and burn your meter with Flame Claws. That should clear a lot of waves in a short time.
  
• 2.) When your meter is depleted rush inside the crowd and start building your Chaos meter back up with Rising Whip/Rising Sweep, Guillotine combos.
  
• 3.) Rinse and repeat until the challenge is over...

Challenge 8: The keep

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 2 Brotherhood Clerics and waves of Brotherhoold Soldiers. Clerics summon more.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Kill 5 Silver Blessed Soldiers.
  
• Trial 3 - Kill 5 Soldiers with synchronized block combos.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat the first 3 trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Freeze both Clerics and dispose of one of them as we only need one for the challenge.
  
• 2.) Wait for the Cleric to summon the Soldiers while being careful not to get hit by any of his spells.
  
• 3.) As soon as the Soldiers spawn, try to score the kills for the trials.
  
• 4.) Once trials 2 and 3 are beat. Proceed to finish the last Cleric.

Challenge 9: The revenge of Channarong

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 2 Heavy Brotherhood Warriors and 4 Brotherhood Soldiers.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Complete the first trial without 20 consecutive seconds passing with no Blood Orbs in the area.
  
• Trial 3 - Complete the first trial without hitting the Heavy Soldiers in close combat or using the Talisman.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat all 3 previous trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Use an Ensnared Demon. (Optional)
  
• 2.) Kill everyone with Flame Claws.

Challenge 10: Infection: Third seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 2 Riot Mechs and 2 Riot Police.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Complete the first trial without losing more than 50 life points from enemy shots.
  
• Trial 3 - Destroy each of the Riot Mechs weapons.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat all 3 previous trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Freeze all enemies (Takes 2 Void Projectiles to freeze the Mechs solid.)
  
• 2.) Kill one of the Police.
  
• 3.) Blow the Mech weapons while avoiding getting hit with shots.
  
• 4.) Once all three Mech's weapons are destroyed, bring it down for good.
  
• 5.) Once trial 3 is beat, finish the rest of the enemies.

Challenge 11: Infection: Fourth seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 1 Horned Demon and 4 Possessed Citizens.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Destroy the Horned Demon attacking only when it is frozen.
  
• Trial 3 - Complete the first trial without more than 30 seconds passing
  with no experience gained.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat all 3 previous trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Get close to the crowd.
  
• 2.) Icy Crest x 2 at the Horned Demon.
  
• 3.) Flame Claws x 2 at the Horned Demon.
  
• 4.) Icy Crest x 2 at the Horned Demon.
  
• 5.) Flame Claws x 2 at the Horned Demon.
  
• 6.) Till it is over.

Challenge 12: The dead arise

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 40 Servant Corpses.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Complete Trial 1 without being grabbed for more than 10 seconds total.
  
• Trial 3 - Score a 5+ kill air combo.
  
• Trial 4 - Beat all 3 previous trials in a single run.

Strategy:

• 1.) Blizzard until 5 or more enemies are frozen with little health.
  
• 2.) Double jump and quickly change to Chaos Power and Eruption.
  
• 3.) Once trial 3 has been beat, proceed the rest of the challenge as normal without getting grabbed at all times.

Challenge 13: Infection: Fifth seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - Three waves of 3 Dark Monks.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Dark Apostle can't survive for more than 40 seconds total.
  
• Trial 3 - Can't spend 20 seconds straight at under 100% life.
  
• Trial 4 - Complete all first three trials in one try.

Strategy:

• 1.) Flame Claws all enemies while avoiding being under %100 for 20 seconds straight.

Challenge 14: The battle of Niflhel

*One of my favorites

Challenge Details:

Enemies - The Paladin and 3 Heavy Brotherhood Warriors.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Get the Paladin to break the armor of all Heavy Brotherhood Warriors without him killing any of them.
  
• Trial 3 - Complete the first trial without the Paladin keeping his swords together for more than 20 seconds straight.
  
• Trial 4 - Complete all first three trials in one try.

Strategy:

• 1.) Chaos Bomb each Heavy Warrior once. That way Roland can break their armor quicker.
  
• 2.) Bait Roland into breaking their armor. Once he does, try your best to quickly eliminate the exposed Warriors. The less they are the better chances you have to beat this glorious challenge...
  
• 3.) When all Heavy Warriors are dead, proceed to finish Roland.
  
  You can also use the Talisman of the Dragon once all three Heavy Warriors are exposed even though it is quite risky. If you do use it, don't forget to cancel the animation as Roland doesn't freeze during it and can easily steal a kill or two from you...

Challenge 15: Infection: Sixth seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 2 Dark Monks and 4 Riot Police.

• Trial 1 - Kill all enemies.
  
• Trial 2 - Survive until the Dark Monks have invoked 12 Possessed Citizens.
  
• Trial 3 - Get 8 (Game says 12) Possessed Citizens to die from the Riot Police mines.
  
• Trial 4 - Complete all first three trials in one try.

Strategy:

• 1.) Let the enemies do the work for you. Just keep yourself away from them.
  
• 2.) Once trials 2 and 3 are done, proceed to finish the remaining enemies.

Challenge 16: Infection: Seventh seal

Challenge Details:

Enemies - 75 Servant Corpses.

• Trial 1 - Defeat all the enemies before the amount of Servant Corpses reaches 20.
  
• Trial 2 - Complete the first trial without activating the Powers of Void or Chaos or using the Relics.
  
• Trial 3 - Kill 25 Servant Corpses before Victor Belmont does.
  
• Trial 4 - Complete all first three trials in one try.

Strategy:

• 1.) Kill 25 Servants before Victor does.
  
• 2.) Proceed killing everything on your path without letting the Corpses reach 20 on the field.
