Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Achievement Guide

This guide will help you to obtain all achievements in the game.

Introduction

I noticed that all achievement guides are not in English so I decided to make one.

If you are playing with keyboard, I suggest you to change roll button to e and interact button to right mouse click. You'll thank me later.

Achievements

- Story-Related Achievements

Obtained on story progression and can't be missed.

Instant Sushi
Vanquish the summoned beast in the watery depths


Vanquish Xolotl
Regain the Mirror of Smoke

- Single-Player Achievements

Note that you might also be able to get them on co-op mode.

Overachiever
Complete any level-specific Reward Challenge


Finish any challenge. Refer to Tomb Raider section for challenge guides.

Seeing Red
Collect all 10 red skulls in any single level


Self-explanatory. Refer to Tomb Raider section for the locations.

Breadwinner
Earn the top score objective in any level


Self-explanatory. Refer to Tomb Raider section for references.

Three birds, one stone
Kill 3 enemies with one bomb


In the second level, drop a bomb on the spider enemies that is coming out of the spider tomb. I did it in easy mode, so I'm not sure if it also works in other difficulties or not.

Beat a Better Mousetrap
Activate all of the spikes at once in the Spider Tomb spike field


Unlock the second challenge room in the third level in one go. You can fail as many times as you want as long as you unlock the room in one go. Solution:


Tomb Raider
Collect all relics, artifacts and weapons


Collect all hidden items and finish all challenges in every levels. You don't have to clear all challenges in one run - feel free to replay the game to get the ones that you missed. An optimal run will be playing it twice: one to collect everything and another to finish the time trial challenge. I usually do it at least three times though except boss fights since I tend to die a lot in my first run.

Also, dying will reduce your score. You don't have to finish the level with maximum score to unlock everything though, including the optional bonus that is accumulated from your total score.

Note that Button Eyes said that you can return to the main menu and continue the game from there to prevent your score from being reset.

- Co-op Achievements

Co-op exclusive achievements. You need to start the game as Lara for 2 achievements and Totec for 1 achievement. Although I will explain it in level 2, it should be doable in other levels.

A Friend in Need
Play Co-op mode


Self-explanatory. Start a multiplayer game from the start screen.

Jump Jump
Jump from Totec's shield while he is jumping


Self-explanatory. You need to play as Lara and ask Totec to put a shield facing to the top. Jump on top of it and then ask Totec to jump. Jump once more afterward to get the achievement.

Leap of Faith
Catch Totec with the grapple while he is jumping over a death fall


Play as Lara and load level 2. Follow the path until you reach the cliff (right after the swarm of enemies near the truck). Drop down the cliff while asking Totec to stay on top. Have Totec jump from his position when you're ready. Use the grappling hook on him as soon as he jumps to get the achievement.

Return to Sender
Reflect an enemy's projectile back to him using Totec's shield


Play as Totec and load level 2. Use the shield (it's the same button as grappling hook) on the shooting enemies until the particle bounces back on them.

Afterword

Most of the achievements are self-explanatory actually. I was planning to link the co-op achievement guide for the co-op achievements, but I found some of the description to be hard to digest (or maybe it's just me?) so I ended up rephrasing it with my own words. Feel free to check out that guide if you want though, it has more detailed info than this. Anyway, good luck in finishing the game!

@psbeardall: to be honest i already forgot most of the game, but i saw on a youtube video and there are some lying around on the sides - you just need to jump on the small platforms to get it. Hopefully that would be enough for you! :)
