How to do the Lamp Jump consistently (Saved me from Insanity)

Having trouble getting the item in the Echoes of Salt?

Struggling with those gosh darn lamps in the Bloodstained crossover challenges (especially the 4th one?)

Then this is the guide for you!

The Secret

Going in the direction and pressing down proved very inconsistent to me and by the grace of El Milagro I found a much easier way!

Hold the Dodge/Dash button (RT/R2 on Controller, Left Shift on Keyboard) while attacking the lamp. That is it.

The more important part is that if you execute a Dodge-jump beforehand you have to let go of the Dodge button and press it again mid air or else the lamp jump will not register. The same applies if you want to execute more than one lamp jumps, you have to let go and press the dodge button again each and every time!

I didn't know this on my first playthrough and it really showed

As info it eludes to this in the tutorial hints page 3. Holding RT + X can be done on an enemy.

I managed to do this weird jump in Echoes of Salt after following one of the guides here, no problem. But what i really gave up on is the challenges that are speed runs with lots of lamps. My controls in stress always execute some kind of downward attac. Fuck this. Devs better come up with something more intelligent in part II.

oh so not letting go of the dash between lamps was the issue all along, good to know, i did it completely by accident after trying several times
