PAYDAY 2 Guide To Solo Speedrunning

This guide will teach you the basics of the official rules on speedrun.com. In depth discriptions for heists. And general usefull tips and tricks.

Introduction to speedruning

Welcome to my speedrunning guide.

In this introduction I will go over the basics to help you get ready to start speedrunning PAYDAY 2.
This guide will go over every heist, both glitched and glitchless runs, and botless runs if there is any specific setups you can do without bots. (This guide wont include Crime Spree or Tutorial Heist Guides). RNG modifier will be used on most of the heists.

I will first go over some basic rules that need to be followed if you want to submit your run to speedrun.com;

1. The most important rule, you HAVE to use the speedrunning mod to be able to submit a run, the RNG modifier mod is optional , ANY other mod or mod override is not allowed and will result in your run getting rejected! Please read the detailed rules[www.speedrun.com] about the speedrunning mod!

2. All recordings must start in the preplanning screen!

3. Always show the screw stats at the end of a day or run!

4. Heists can't be played with mutators or in Crime Spree. One Down modifier is allowed.

5. The Infinite Slow-motion Glitch is the only glitch that is NOT allowed to be used!

6. In Game Time is counted through the days (incl. escapes, in multi-day heists only).

7. Runs must be one segment!

General tips and tricks.

1. Yakuza + Parkour basic + Second Wind.

For Stealth: If possible, throw a Molotov at your feet to lower your health to get the Yakuza
bonus,
getting hurt will also activate Second wind and will give you an extra speed boost at the start of
your heist.


For Loud: Bring any weapon with explosive rounds so you can both break your armor and lower
your health for the yakuza bonus. getting Partners In Crime basic will give you an additional 10%
speed bonus.

2. Feign Death Aced and Messiah Aced.

Downing yourself and getting yourself up with Feign Death (45% chance) or Messiah will slow
down the ingame timer and possibly save you a few seconds at the end, this works both in
loud or stealth. (downing yourself also slows down timers on drills and saws, so getting
downed while needing to drill or saw is not a good idea)



3. Recommended Weapons.

For Stealth and loud is the Judge Shotgun very usefull, in stealth you modify it with a silencer
and 000 Buckshot, and for loud you can take HE rounds to lower your health and break armor.

The Commando 101 Rocket Launcher is usefull for when you need to down yourself multiple
times in a short time, I also recommend to take ammo bags or place ammo bag assets.

RNG settings: All random set to "last"
This will cause to spawn all painting in hall A, closest to the van.





Heist assets: Roof Access
Use this to get on the roof faster via the parking.

Skills:
Strategy: As soon as you spawn in you shoot yourself with the HE Judge to get the yakuza and second wind bonuses, and then place down a ecm.


Run through the front door to hall A and start taking the paintings and throw them to the roof through the top window.


Once you have all but one of the required amount you run out to the parking, secure painting you were carrying and then go to the roof through the roof access asset, from there u can take the paintings and throw them into the van.

Bank Heist: Deposit and Random

RNG settings:
Door to outside: Open both
Escape point: Front
Vault door: Front



Heist assets:
Silent Alarm 20s. Delay - Underground Conduit (optional)
Expert Driver - Random Location

Skills:

Strat: when you spawn you walk to the enterance of the bank and time putting on your mask to when you are just inside the bank, if there is a guard somewhere nearby you well get a slow down which will save a few seconds, after masking up immediatly shoot yourself to go faster and get the drill, while carrying the drill, keep breaking your armor for the Secon Wind Boosts.
setup the drill and keep hitting it with your melee to restart the drill fast when it breaks.

After the drill broke once it is a good time to open up the ATM closest to the front door, you can loot these from the outside through the wall, after the drill is finished, you can loot the ATM and the escape will be available. This works on both Normal and Deathwish, escape after looting the ATM.

when the vault opens grab one bag and head for the escape, while again using the second wind boosts.

Strategy Normal Difficulty:
As soon as you spawn in, mask up and immediately shooting yourself witht he HE judge for the speedboosts and start running to the office with the whiteboard.
when u arrive at the office, shoot the window and go inside for half a second.

immediately go to the correct computer to start the hack.


After the hack is started you can go place the explosives as usual.

And wait at the storage for the hack to be done.

When the hack is done, go inside take the keys and drive to the harbor to secure the car and escape.
