Friend Chat Guide

*NOTE* Probably outdated AF.

A semi-detailed guide compiling a number of incredibly useful friend chats made by players of the game. These are helpful to players, new and old, who are looking for skilling teams, D&D locations, people to do minigames with, and a variety of the other content this game has to offer.

What exactly is a Friends Chat?

The Friends Chat feature allows any player to create their own chat channel and assign ranks to other players in their channel. Similarly to public chat, any messages sent in a chat channel are seen by all players in that channel, except if the sender is on any player's ignore list or vice versa.

Friends Chat is available to everyone with membership or free players with 150 total level or higher,

and was released in the Clan Chat update on 6 August 2007. Players do not need to set up their own channel in order to use someone else's. Later, on 12 April 2011, another Clan Chat was released, with the former Clan Chat renamed to Friends Chat.

Players in a Friends Chat channel send messages in the same way as with public chat, except using a slash (/) at the beginning of every line. The slash does not appear when the message is displayed. As with private chat, the other players can be logged into any server. Selecting the Friends Chat option at the bottom of the screen eliminates the need of using a slash (/). A leading slash will not be removed if the Friends Chat channel is accessed through the Lobby.

Setting Up

To enter a Friends Chat channel, players simply click on the "Join/leave a Friends Chat channel" button in the Friends Chat interface. Either of the two options shown will work. The name of the player hosting the channel must be entered in the message box. Once this is done, the player is able to send messages to other players in the channel by writing messages in the public chat box with a slash before them. It's that easy!

Conclusion

I hope that this guide has been of some use, or at least incentive to create or go out and explore and see what kinds of other FCs may be out there. I'm sure what I have here isn't a complete list by any means.

in 2024 the vast majority of theses are completely dead or they have been over run by elitist assclowns and botters esp the "whirlpool dnd" and soul obby like seriously and every "leech" chat is filled with scammers
