Use earth to raise the land for walls 2x2 squares as walls keep them out, you can even build them like separated bars/pillars half a block away and they will have to break them and not be able to get between. if you go up on a wall and attack them you are mostly safe they can still break em, just build a long barrier wall you can run atop and shoot them. if they stop they swing. I put a platform and roof on the inside edge of them so i can attack from it and run around easily. keeps those pretty buildings safer....a bit.....i guess...sigh...they killed them all...
