A quick guide to the achievements in Kentucky Route Zero

Act 1

I bet a dog will eat it
Joseph will give you jerky. When you get to speak to your dog, give them the jerky treat


Finding Carrington
After leaving Equus Oils, come back. Joseph will be with a stranger. Talk to them


Hypnagogic
When you are about to exit the mine, use the dialogue option where Shannon says she wants to look around a bit before leaving. As Shannon, walk away from the screen (to the left side of the tracks), then turn around and face the screen, with the light shining out towards you, the player. If you've done this right, the camera will slowly zoom in on Shannon. Once it stops zooming in, move Shannon again and you'll get this achievement

Act I
Story achievement, unmissable. Simply complete Act 1


Limits & Demonstrations
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete "Limits & Demonstrations"

Act 2

Organ Performance
Once you get in the bureau's elevator, go to the second floor. Get out and walk all the way to the right, and click to listen to the organ recital. Once you're finished and click to go back the balcony, you'll get the achievement

Paperclip Labyrinth
When you start looking for Lula on the first floor, every time Conway speaks, you are sent to another bureaucrat. Keep answering as Conway until you get the achievement.

Act II
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete Act 2


The Entertainment
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete "The Entertainment" without falling asleep

Act 3

Say something romantic
In Act 3 Scene 1, run to the bottom-left of the car park, where Flora stands looking at a boat in a puddle. Talk to her, watch the boat leave, say something romantic

You died
Once you are in Xanadu and reach the hole, pick the option to lean over so you fall in and die

Phil and Jane
After you leave the Hall of Mountain King and find your way to the Bureau, don't enter; instead, go anti-clockwise on the Zero until you get to the TV. Stop, take the exit to the 70, and go clockwise to the Van. Stop there. Examine the van

Under the horizon
When you get to the distillery and can get in the buggy, do NOT go to shipping as suggested. Instead, go around to Mess Hall and get out. Go right past the cafeteria to the river and walk along the railing. You should see the boat from earlier (provided you said something romantic)

Act III
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete Act 3


Here And There Along The Echo
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete "Here And There Along The Echo"

Act 4

Patch speaking
Leave the ferry and visit the Rum Colony. Talk to Patch (the barman) and hang around the bar area. The phone should start ringing, pick it up (as Patch) and answer it. You get the achievement at the end of the conversation

Happy Tuesday
This can only be achieved on a Tuesday (i.e. the date on your computer's clock is Tuesday). At Sam & Ida's restaurant, give Ezra a quarter. Choose the headphones, move the claw right, right and up, grab the prize. If it's not a Tuesday, the headphones will fall out of the claw

Here, you pick
When you get to order food, pick "(SHANNON turns the page)" three times


Act IV
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete Act 4


Un Pueblo De Nada
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete "Un Pueblo De Nada"


Act IV again
Complete Act 4 a second time on the same save file. You may want to do the opposite of what you did the first time (if you went onshore, stay on the ferry, or vice-versa)

Act 5

The map
As the cat, go to the mound in the centre of the area (see image below), and walk along the raised grassy path; it'sthe same spiral shape seen in the achievement icon (left). If you go off the path, you can go back to the centre mound and try again.




Look for me under your bootsoles
Story achievement, unmissable. Complete Act 5


Death of the Hired Man
Complete "Death of the Hired Man". This only unlocks if you find Carrington in Act 1 (see Finding Carrington above), you can start Act 1 again if you missed this, and return to the level select as soon as you find him
