This mod doesn't belong to me, it is the work of silent, a programmer and modder who has worked in many projects and made many patches and hotfixes for other games. Check his work out, he's amazing.

The Patch
Until QLOC releases an update to correct the port, this patch by Silent is the best option we have to improve the game.
Most of these fixes have been addressed in official hotfixes, but there is still one minimal CPU saving fix in SilentPatch that the official patches overlooked.

WARNING: DON’T USE - for Yakuza 5, this patch is no longer required.
Featured fixes:
  • CPU usage has been significantly cut down.
  • A low level keyboard hook potentially causing issues with slow typing speed has been removed.
  • Worked around a crash occurring occasionally after finishing battles with a Heat Action.
  • Fixed a potential random startup crash.
  • Fixed several issues related to non-ASCII user names, most notably a freeze when using Print Circle photo booths in Yakuza 5.

This patch only works for the steam version of the game.

If you wish to look up a more detailed description, you can check the mod's homepage:

Download/Installation
You can download the SilentPatch here:

https://cookieplmonster.github.io/mods/yakuza-5/#silentpatch

To install it, you first need to extract the donwloaded file, you can use windows' built in tools, winrar or 7zip (I myself use 7zip).

You should now have these files:

Next, you'll have to open yakuza 5's game directory. It can be found by right-clicking on the game entry on steam, selecting "manage" and then click on "browse local files"

Finally, move the files from the SilentPatch to the main game folder.

Congrats
You have now applied Silent's Yakuza 5 remastered patch.
I'll be updating this guide as Silent updates the fix.
So back to kicking ass, now at a stable 60 fps.

Apparently this is no longer needed and doesn't improve anything anymore. At least it says on the site of the Silent Patch author to not use it for Yakuza 5 anymore.

This works well! If only I know this tutorial before completing the full story... I wish Qloc would improve their port
