To get really started, load a world. Also make sure you have a player. Starting out you have a copper axe, copper pickaxe and a copper shortsword. If you see a blob of green or blue that is a Slime. Kill it with any of your tools. Select your second tool, the Axe, and walk to a tree. The best type is a massive tall tree. Left-click the bottom of the tree and it will come falling down. You now have Wood!
Basic House Exterior
Now here's the important part, making the actual house exterior. This bit is either fun or enraging. As shown on the picture with the interior, that is how to make a perfectly fine house for you and your Guide to live in. Press Esc and it will come up with your Crafting Menu / Inventory. If you have collected enough wood, look on the Crafting Menu down the left side. Craft either two doors or one. You can build as high as you want. P.S. Dont go crazy.
Basic House Interior
Once you've built your house, and maybe it looks like the picture shown on the last one, you probably want to fill it with walls and make it look bright and make it say 'Hey, Come into this house, cus' it has a really brilliant interior!' Press Esc and if you have enough wood a little table will come up which says Crafting Table. Click on this and take it to your inventory space. Also, craft some Torches for light, as they will require the Gel from the Slimes you probably killed earlier on. This will require one wood and one gel. With your three torches you can either place them or hold them. Place down your crafting table. If you want to, mine down into the depths to find stone, mix it with six torches and twenty or so stone and you have a nice Fireplace/Furnace. Go up to your Crafting Table to craft Wood, Dirt or Stone walls for your lovely background. Have fun from then on!!!
