Wargame RD Armory Tool Setup Tutorial

So I recently came across the Wargame RD Armory tool that you can use to view the 'magic numbers' which make the game work. I didnt see a guide/discussion on this tool on steam to help set it up so I thought I'd make one here. This isnt a guide to understand much of whats going on.

What I didnt find was a simple tutorial to get it up and running for myself. This is what this guide is.

It has some troubleshooting information too:
IMPORTANT: due to a recent update you have to change something in the settings file: in the second line change the ending to "510060540\510061340\ZZ_Win.dat"

TUTORIAL / TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Download the release zip from the link ( https://github.com/pvutov/armory/releases/tag/0.4.2.0, latest version at the time of writing this guide ) and unzip it with whatever unzip software you use (winRAR, 7Zip, make your own idc)
2. Start the .exe file and it will ask you to link it to the wargame RD folder on your PC
3. It should run - but it doesn't - thats why we I wrote this guide.
4. This is the point where most people get the error "Failed reading ZZ_Win.dat. May have selected an incomplete one - try pointing settings.ini to a complete ZZ_WIn.dat file." or some other error window. So what to do now ?
5. Close the windows that popped up and open the Armory folder where a settings.ini file would now have been created.
6. Follow the following instructions from the 'The psychotic Finnish wood-elf', from their post on Eugen forums that I have copied as is:

Check your 'settings.ini' in your armory folder and change line 2 zz. It needs to be pointed to the newest patched file.
zz:%PATH%\Data\WARGAME\PC\510060540\510061340\ZZ_Win.dat

Where the %PATH% is the install location of the game. This should get it running.

Don't worry about the SSL error that pops up(it just means auto-updated isn't working anymore), just click continue.
If you wish to get rid of that as well. Change line 5 autoupdate:true to
autoupdate:false

This is what my settings.ini file looks like right now after the patch they released recently (22-02-2021):
