Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Reshade Semi-fix
By Rooxon
As all the guides so far are half-well done or solve only parts of problems in connection between reshade and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth for PC, I decided I'd write a more updated one myself. As people including myself had problems with this in the past, I decided to look into this game. I now play the game with depth buffer access effects and you can do 80% of everything reshade offers except one problem I can't solve: inside the reshade window ingame no other key on the keyboard works except for PrntScrn for some reason. Very wierd and isolated problem with the game.

Reshade installation

There are two facts you have to realize before you read further; inside the in-game Reshade menu only PrntScrn ever works, not even Enter and you can still tweak 80% of everything, just not preprocessor definitions or manual number input (mouse sliding to value and ticking stuff still works so it's okay). Also, we need to turn off our Antialiasing in-game if we want depth-buffer access for effects like SSR, MXAO, RTGI etc.

1. Shared Setup
So first off, make sure you grab the latest reshade.exe from https://reshade.me/.

You want to open the file when it's downloaded.
Select the big button "Click here to select a game and manage it's ReShade installation"
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth should be in this window for all Steam users, if not, you can browse for it with a button bellow.
(Make sure to go into \Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition\app_digister and point to the Digimon Story CS.exe wherever your installation might be otherwise.)

At this point, either download whatever effects you personally want to play with or you can follow my personal preset installation.

1.1. WTE Effects you want
Once you launch the game, you'll get headaches like we all did at first. Nothing works, the reshade intro text won't disappear and "Home" doesn't work no matter what you do. But internet says that PrntScrn makes the menu appear.

- in Windows Explorer, navigate to your Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth installation.
- open the App_Digister folder
- open Reshade.ini
- make sure that the following lines are precisely like this:

[DEPTH]
DepthCopyAtClearIndex=1
DepthCopyBeforeClears=1
ForceMainDepthBuffer=0
UseAspectRatioHeuristics=1

[INPUT]
KeyOverlay=44,0,0,0

[GENERAL]
PreprocessorDefinitions=RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=1000.0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_UPSIDE_DOWN=1,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_LOGARITHMIC=0

(If you didn't launch the game yet and/or are missing any of these lines, as of right now, version 4.9.1, feel free to just write them in and it'll work as intended, no worries)

Now Launch the game, play with your shaders, make presets, sky is the limit, oh what a time to be alive!

1.2. My Personal preset or beginners' guide
- During the reshade installation, make sure you grab FXAA, SMAA from the SweetFX pack and quint's SSR, Sharpening and MXAO.

(OPTIONAL EYE CANDY) I've included settings for Marty McFly's RTGI 0.20.1 at the time of writing this. Sub to his Patreon[www.patreon.com] and Discord where the download link is later on if you want to download the shader, but you need an RTX capable GPU.

- download my reshade.ini and preset.ini files from {LINK REMOVED}
ALTERNATE GDRIVE LINK[drive.google.com]

- paste inside your \Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition\app_digister folder and overwrite files.
- Fire up your game and when you can, press PrntScrn and follow the tutorial
- From the dropdown menu up-top, select my DigimonSCS RooxShade.ini
- press PrntScrn and enjoy the game. ;) You can return to this menu whenever and turn effects on/off by ticking/unticking them as you so please.

ADDITIONAL HELP:
- If you don't want your digimon folder to be full of screenshots, inside reshade.ini make sure to change KeyScreenshot=44,0,0,0 to something other than 44 (I changed mine to 45). This way you can still take screenshots with Insert while the reshade window is closed.

44 = PrntScrn
45 = Insert
46 = Delete

- If your depth buffer access still didn't work, make sure you have disabled the anti-aliasing setting inside the game's graphics settings. I also wrote this at the start of the guide in bold, it is the one thing that locks you out entirely as the game uses MSAA and that takes over the depth buffer for it's edge smoothing effect.

- Please leave a comment down bellow and I'll make sure to come back and check every now and then, no need to contact me directly. I usually feel being nagged by that.

I looked into this a bit; go to the second tab inside reshade and check both your Effect and Textures filepaths and that they exist. If it's just "./" then that's why it's not loading effects. The effects path has to point to your reshade-shaders/Shaders folder, and the textures to the reshade-shaders/Textures folder. Once you set this up, click reload at the bottom and the effects should show up.

I'd say double-check you followed my guide correctly. I can only guess, it can be a number of things ranging from not picking the correct effects from the correct packs to something funky and unrelated, like maybe you copied the wrong files or you might have a wrong folder setup.

not sure what I'm doing wrong. installed the game, ran it, disabled AA, closed it, ran reshade, selected opengl, installed marty and fxaa, copied files, game looks the same as before. when I open the resade menu it only has 2 features enabled
