Report a translation problem
When you upgrade the Hoe tool, it raises the terrain in precise-ish 1x1 blocks aligned with the world grid. The higher you raise it, the sharper the block becomes. If you use the Pickaxe tool to knock it down, it seems random whether or not you get all your rocks back.
You need the Pickaxe tool, you can craft it after defeating the first boss.
