Unfortunately the Adobe AIR version I'm using is a version for which Adobe stopped supporting Linux. A Mac version should be fairly easy to come up with but I have no idea why Adobe stopped supporting Linux and it's a shame :(
So it's sadly not planned at the moment as it would require a complete rewrite on another engine. Nothing is impossible but let's just say that for now I really can't promise anything related to Linux.
These icons are population markers and only appear in specific missions. As the planet is attacked, population decreased and the "icons" get smaller. The game is still in beta so yes I hope to improve how these visual aids are looking.
That's only for missions with a planet. If you check the beta (link above in description) you'll see these "icons" appear only in 1 mission so far.
As for the name well, some like it and others don't. One thing for sure, people remembers it :)
"You should know without being told anything"
I disagree. That's part of the learning process. As a single dev I have to wear all the hats and at one point it's inevitable that I make mistakes. People point them, I take note and try to do better the next time.
I actually enjoy when people suggest nice things to improve my work.
