The guide attempts provide directions, hints or even direct location to find all secrets in Hrot Episode 1: Kiss me Gustav as well as achievements hints for specific levels. If you are looking for other episodes secrets, see links below.

The list of secrets and achievements is in the order you can usually first find them (but not necessarily order of solving them).

Before you visit the secrets location on the maps or continue reading this guide, I would suggest trying to find the secrets on your own first, they are usually not too difficult. :)

Navigating this guide

The guide is divided in chapters, one each for specific map of the Episode 1: Kiss me Gustav.

Each chapter is divided in multiple sections:

• Brief information about the level
  
• Level specific achievements, if any
  
• List of secrets where the secret reward is revealed, but the actual hints are hidden under blacked-out spoiler, requiring you to hover over the blacked-out section to reveal the text.
  
• Under the spoilers you can find a small hint that should help you find the secret on your own first, or another more detailed hint second.
  
• Picture of the in-game map of the level with marked locations of secrets numbered to corresponding secrets. The map can contain achievement or special locations as well.

Using the guide

In case you can't find the secret(s), I suggest following these steps:

1. Check what secret reward you are missing and refer to the small hint.
   
2. If you can't find it after reading the small hint, either read the second part of the hint, providing clearer and more detailed description,
   
3. or look up the secret location on the map. You can open the in-game map by pressing M key (default binding) in game.

Of course it's entirely up to you if you will use map first or if you want just a small hint.

General Achievements

This section lists all general achievements you should be able to obtain while playing Episode 1: Kiss me Gustav. Usually, those achievements are not bound to any specific level, but can be obtained anytime while playing Hrot.

Kill all monsters in a level

Kill 500 monsters in total

Achievement: Sickle

Kill 5 monsters with a sickle in a row without damage

Achievement: Secret

E1M1: Kosmonautů Station

Map information

Number of secrets: 6

E1M1 Secrets

1. Submachine gun
   Hint: In the room where you can pick up the Soviet Shotgun, there is a corridor leading to a crack in a wall.
   Detailed hint: After you find the crack in a wall you need to break through using one of the following means: exploding grenade or barrel right next to the cracked wall. After you climb up you will meet two rats and your secret reward - a Submachine Gun.
   
2. Wifebeater (armor)
   Hint: The armor is hidden somewhere in the room with Matryoshka doll.
   Detailed hint: There is a hidden area behind the wooden boxes in the room with matryoshka doll (on the left when facing the doll). Just interact with the box and it should open. You can find a wifebeater providing some armor in there.
   
3. 1 Koruna
   Hint: On the metro platform, there are special ornaments on the walls.
   Detailed hint:There are two ornaments on the wall at the side of the platform where the metro is running. The ornament on the left has a rusty stain under it. You need to jump into the ornament and interact with the wall to open the secret area.
   
4. Shotgun shells
   Hint: Crack in the wall in the women restroom.
   Detailed hint: When entering women restroom, you can find a cracked wall behind one of the toilets. Break through to find shotgun shells ammo.
   
5. Hidden space with medkit and enemies at the right of Pivnice (Tavern)
   Hint: Destroy electric panel to open up the area.
   Detailed hint: On the right of the Pivnice building you can find hollow place that has a closed room. You need to destroy an electricity box to open it. The box is visible when walking from the playground while hugging the wall (check the map for the spot).
   
6. Tasty Canned Poultry
   Hint: The last corridor leads not only to the red button that ends the level.
   Detailed hint:When crawling through the tight corridor between room with red button and Pivnice, you can open a hidden corridor. It's in middle of the tight space on the right, you just need to interact with the wall.

E1M2: Luna

Achievement: Swans

Hint: Just ride the swans

Achievement: Roadkill

Run over 10 monsters
Hint: You can find a motorbike in the area after leaving sewers for the first time.
Tip: Before picking up aluminium key, park the motorbike nearby, there will be lots of enemies spawning all across the area

E1M2 Secrets

1. Wifebeater (armor)
   Hint: In the House of Culture there are secret door on the left side of stage area.
   Detailed hint:In the room with a typewriter on a desk there is a button on one of the table's sides. Press it and return to the stage area.
   
2. Grenades
   Hint: Cracked wall.
   Detailed hint: When at the underground sewage area, don't go to the right where there is a water, instead go left to find the crack in the wall.
   
3. Tasty Canned Poultry
   Hint: Different looking wall in the sewage area.
   Detailed hint:When walking down the steps in a room with water on the ground, check for a wall that looks like a door. Interact with it.
   
4. Soviet Shotgun in meat store hidden corridor
   Hint: After walking up stairs in meat store go immediately to the left, interacting with wall will open the corridor.
   
5. Bottle of wine on hidden balcony
   Hint: In the area where you fight the gorilla boss, there is a hidden balcony you can reach.
   Detailed hint: Just climb the swans and run-jump into the balcony.
   
6. Second pistol and 1 Koruna in ah idden corridor to meat store freezer
   Hint: From the same open space as #5, you can climb the swan and jump the highened area close to meat store.
   Detailed hint: Destroy the fan and enter the corridor.

E1M3: Sewage Treatment Plant

E1M3 Secrets

1. Submachine Gun
   Hint: At the start of the level, go left until you find a crack in the wall.
   Detailed hint: Classical cracked wall, just break it.
   
2. Lightning Gun
   Hint: In the crypt-like room with Rusted key in the middle of it, there is a hidden room. You need to find a prodtruding brick in the same room to open the hidden room.
   Detailed hint: Check the upper part of the wall in the area.
   
3. Second pistol
   Hint: In the room with huge cylindrical tank, wine and TV in the wall, there is a special symbol on a wall.
   Detailed hint: Just interact with the emblem wall and press the button it uncovers.
   
4. Medal
   Hint: In the room with the generator, there is a medal to pickup.
   Detailed hint: You need to jump around the wall.

E1M3 Map

E1M4: Sokol Gym

Level specific achievements

Achievement: Rodeo

Hint: In one of the blocks you can find a washing machine called Tatramatka.
Detailed hint: It's enough to jump on the washingmachine and turning it on. When it is literally like a rodeo, you should get the achievement.
Location on map: Green dot marked "tatramatka".

Achievement: Kick

Hint: On the football field next to the gym you can find a ball.
Detailed hints: Simply kick the ball so it hits one of the monsters.

E1M4 Secrets

1. Meal (Soup, Main Course, Cake)
   Hint: After activating both levers and turning the valve you need to go to the opposite side of the valve. There should be a niche a bit to the left.
   Detailed hint: After using the valve, go to the niche and wait for the water. Swim up.to the top.
   
2. Grenades, 1 Korunal
   Hint: There is a hidden interactable wall to in the street called "Majakovského".
   Detailed hint: It's to the right next to the text "Zákaz chytání ryb" (Fishing prohibited).
   
3. Lightning Gun
   Hint: After using Common Key, there will be a crack in the wall in the cellar next to the wooden boxes
   Detailed hint: Classic, just destroy it.
   
4. Tasty Canned Poultry, Wifebeater
   Hint: There is a hidden room behind flags of ČSSR/USSR
   Detailed hint: Just walk through the flags
   
5. 5 Koruna
   Hint: There is a hidden space in the gym
   Detailed hint: Climb the leftmost ladder and interact with the wall

Hint: Flush the toilet.

E1M5 Secrets

1. Hussite Hand Cannont
   Hint: Outside of the Palace of Culture there is a something like ventilation grating as part of the building.
   Detailed hint: interact with it and it should open the hidden space.
   
2. Bottle of Wine
   Hint: When taking the underpass below the metro, there is a ventilation shaft on the left.
   Detailed hint: It's impossible to jump there just like that, you need to use something to be able to jump there.
   How to: Move the dustbin outside of the metro station (unless you've destroyed it) just below the ventilation.
   
3. Tasty Canned Poultry
   Hint: After using rusted key, you will find an electrical control cabinet on the opposite side of the stairs that has a hidden area behind.
   Detailed hint: Just jump on from the ledge at the stairs to the top of that cabinet and interact with wall.
   
4. Hidden space in the corridor with two turrets
   On the right side of the last corridor there is a cracked wall. Destroy it.

E1M5 Map

E1M6: Vyšehrad Castle

Map information

Level specific achievements

Achievement: Secret of Vyšehrad

It's locked behind a aluminium key door. Things needed for this achievement are marked green dot on map. It's necessary to find secret #4 because of the aluminium key that opens the door to the Secret of Vyšehrad.
The aluminium key is inside the coffin of the secret crypt, just break the coffin.

DEMO: This achievement has a different solution in Hrot Demo! You need to press a red button in room of secret #3 to remove the barrier at entrance to the crypt hidden behind elevating pillar.

E1M6 Secrets

1. Hidden space with handcannon
   Cracked wall, destroy it.
   
2. Second pistol and munition
   It's in the same room as #1.
   The location is the spot where the grenade guy came from. You need to climb the ladder and jump around the wall to the left.
   
3. Hidden room with a medal in the church
   It's to the left of the crypt entrance (normal crypt where you meet spiders/rats) when facing the crypt. Just interact with the wall.
   
4. Hidden crypt with a key
   Entrance to this crypt is below the elevating pillar that you can control by using red button in church.
   You need to press a protruding brick button to disable the barrier. As you enter the church, go immediately to the right and you should find it in front of you.
   If you still can't find the brick, its location is marked as a yellow dot on the map
   You can find a aluminium key in the coffin, so just break it. The key is needed to open the door for the achievement Secret of Vyšehrad
   
5. Medal on wooden boxes
   First you need to access the crypts and disable the barrier (on the left side in first crypt room) by pressing the lever behind multiple skulls. Barrier will then be removed and you can return to it, all you need to do is jump from box to box.
   
6. Hidden backpack
   In the first hallway of the crypt there is a hidden spot behind a wall in the corner. Interact with he wall to open it.
   
7. Hidden corridor in the crypt
   After getting the key bronze you will be attacked on stairs by a single spider. There is an electric panel above the stairs. Shoot it.
   
8. Secret shaft between the water areas
   When swimming the tight corridor to the outisde water area you can swim directly upwards to find another secret area.
   
9. Hidden space in the water tank
   When entering the outer water area, there is a secret area covered by two planks on the at the bottom of the opposite side of the water tank.

E1M7: Underground Stream

Map information

Number of secrets: 4

E1M7 Secrets

1. Hidden space with a medal near water tank
   On the right side of the water area there is a cracked wall. Destroy it.
   Beware: If you drain the water you can't go there anymore.
   
2. Hidden medal behind the wooden boxes
   After leaving the Mánes building you can find 3 wooden boxes. Just interact with the middle one to open the secret area.
   
3. Hidden room in the room with a key
   In the room where you are ambushed by multiple creatures after picking up the key, there is an hidden wall on the right side you can interact with. It's almost at the end of the wall and opens a hidden shaft.
   
4. Medal behind the fence
   In this open space area you can see an area behind a fence that is accessible through locked door. You need to destroy electrical panel behind the fence on the left side to open the door.

E1M8: Mausoleum

Gottwald's body missing
Hint: After fighting Gottwald just return to the place where his body was showcased (green dot on map).

E1M8 Secrets

1. Hidden "Pionýr" motorcycle
   There is a garage with a motorcycle in the open space with a knight/Žižka statue.
   
   How to:
   You have to find an electric panel to open the garage.
   
   When standing with garage to your back, having the statue on the left side, the electric panel is on the right between the two protruding pillars of the building.
   
   
2. Hidden weapon
   There is a hidden space in the room with a key where you are ambushed by two grenade guys. You just need to interact with the wall behind the spot from where they appeared.
   
3. Hidden medal
   There is a small hidden corridor in the room with a single tomb.
   When facing the tomb, the wall you need to interact with is on the right side.
   
   
4. Hidden pistol behind the tombs
   Deeper in the area with multiple tombs there is a cracked wall behind one of them. Just destroy it.
   
   
5. Hidden weapon on the boxes
   There is couple of boxes in the room after following text "Nechoď do věže" ("Don't go into the tower"). You need to use one of the barrels there to help you jump on the boxes.
