What the Hell is this!?
This mod allows you to play the Master Levels in ZDoom as three additional episodes for Doom II.



The Master Levels episode includes all the levels that were in MLFD2 but weren't part of a larger series, put in alphabetical order and grouped based on their authorship.

The Dr. Sleep's Inferno episode consists of all of Dr. Sleep's levels from MLFD2 plus two levels that he released previously as part of the same series.

The Cabal episode consists of all of Cranium's levels from MLFD2 plus all the other levels that were rejected by id but later releases as part of that series, put in an order that makes sense storywise.

If you have No Rest for the Living (NERVE.WAD) loaded, it will be displayed at the bottom of the episodes list.

It doesn't include the master levels themselves - they are a commercial product and must be purchased. If you don't have them yet, you can buy them here on Steam.
Installation
  1. Open the file mladdon.pk3 with any archival program
  2. Place all the Master Levels WADs into the "maps" folder, except for TEETH.WAD
  3. Copy TEETH.WAD and name the copy TEETH2.WAD
  4. Open TEETH.WAD with any lump editor (SLADE3[slade.mancubus.net] for example)
  5. Delete the MAP32 lump and the other 10 lumps below it: THINGS, LINEDEFS, SIDEDEFS, VERTEXES, SEGS, SSECTORS, NODES, SECTORS, REJECT, and BLOCKMAP



  6. Save the changes made to TEETH.WAD
  7. Open TEETH2.WAD
  8. Delete the MAP31 lump and the other 10 lumps below it. Don't accidentaly delete the lumps associated with MAP32!



  9. Save the changes made to TEETH2.WAD
  10. Place TEETH.WAD and TEETH2.WAD into mladdon.pk3's "maps" folder
  11. Drag the mladdon.pk3 file over zdoom.exe and select your Doom II IWAD

If you want ZDoom to always load this mod with Doom II:
  1. Place mladdon.pk3 inside ZDoom's folder.
  2. Open zdoom-[username].ini from the directory where ZDoom is located with a text editor
  3. Under the section [Doom2.Autoload] add without quotes "Path=mladdon.pk3"
    [Doom2.Autoload] Path=mladdon.pk3
  4. Save the file
  5. Play Doom II

Like playing on Ultra-Violence, but think it's too easy? Don't want to play Nightmare! because it isn't even remotely fair? Or do you think that Nightmare! is too easy???

Introducing Moar Difficulty!
Adds the following three difficulties:
  • I own DOOM! - Just like Ultra-Violence, but with Nightmare!'s fast monsters.
  • Hardcore! - Just like I own DOOM!, but enemies never get stunned by pain and don't infight.
  • Watch me die! - Just like Nightmare!, but enemies never get stunned by pain and don't infight. Only for extreme masochists.

You think you could use MAPINFO to define the textures? Also, what vanilla textures are you specifically referring to?

Just added them as a separate "Master Level Rejects" episode, but I'll only update the mod once I add Jim Flynn's levels too.

Would it still be possible to include Chris Klie's reject levels & Tom Mustaine's Inmost Dens remake in the Vignettes of Doom episode?

Okay, I looked into it, and it's impossible to add those maps properly because they modify some vanilla textures in a way that I can't force zdoom to only use them only for those maps. I'll keep looking for a way to include them properly, but there's not gonna be an update for now.

2 Suggestions:
*Rename the episode titled "Master Levels" to "Vignettes of Doom"
*Make an episode called "Hell on Titan" for Jim Flynn's Titan levels, & add the 4 freely available levels from that set

Did you follow the instructions? The problem that AmethystViper had was that he simply loaded mladdon.pk3 without making any of the changes mentioned in this guide.

Also I'm having the same file problem as AmethystViper, the game brings me to the console, except it happens with all the episodes except Hell on Earth.
