Disclaimer: English is not my main language so expect typos and weird speaking overall.

This guide isn´t really entirely mine, it has a lot of copy-paste from now dissapeared forums and sources. I filled some gasp with my personal experiences trying to make a coeherent guide from fragments of info. Here are the people to credit, thanks to them this guide could be made.

Salan - Mod creator and the main source of info, both private speak, forums, and patch notes.

SirTeebag - The main corpus of this guide, wich is based on his dissapeared guide "Lvl 100, what now" previously on the lost forums of SynergiesMod

Joe Chip - base guide DK (Tier 0)

Felixsimon - drop DK

Dimster y Sinergistic - map DK

Kerrick y Strukto - pics from sets Tier 0 y 0.5, skulls included

Zuzu - Tier 0.5, info and pics

Miothan - Tier 0.5 skulls info

[More to be added, maybe]
Intro
You finally made it, beat all 4 acts and slayed the Netherlord.

Usually you would head for the mapworks or start a NG+ run. But not this time. Synergies adds a new act and extra content so you can continue playing. It will also be the major challenge to be faced actually in TL2.

IMPORTANT:

Synergies is designed to be played on the first run, with new characters and NOT on NG+ or beyond runs. Playing with a new entirely character is highly recommended. Any other way you may face unbalance on difficultie (it could ramp up dramatically)

Also, the default difficulty for playing Synergies is Elite (max difficulty) - You can play easier, just notice the balance could be weird if doing so.
First contact: Table Mountain
When you finish the game´s original content (vanilla) you may still be far from level 100. You might be tempted of speaking with the NPC at Act 4 to start a NG+. DON´T.
Synergies is designed to be played on the first run without going througn any NG+

Instead, its time to explore the V act (synergies original) - Table Mountain.

You can acces Table Mountain in different ways:

- Buying a portal scroll to Salan Witherwind, at Estherian Enclave (Act 1 city)

- From a portal at Selrock. To reach Selrock simply talk with Kelintor, found at any city.

- From the Emberworks/Mapworks, that portal lets yoy travel to any act.

Once you are here take a look to the vendors. They´ll sell you nice gear to get you started.

Also you will metet the Enchanters, to enhance your gear. ****SPECIALLY IMPORTANT, to add sockets and get bonuses to your main Stats, (VIT, STR, DEX, INT)

Now, you can access to various interesting places:

1 --The Deserted Goldmine: Basically a place to farm trillions and gorillions of Gold, worth for getting gear and more important, using it at the enchanters. You can go straight there without any trouble.

2 -- Tier 0, Derinkuyu. This is the first "Level" of Act V, so to speak. This is where you should start as to beat Synergies mod. Probably you won´t be ready for it, and will die quite fast. No problem, we will be back over this later.

3 -- Or´Ak Pass - This is the "road" to Tier 0´5 (Or´Ak Basin) A good place to farm mercenary scrolls (Summons)

-Or´Ak Basin, you can reach it after crossing OrÁk pass. Its a "middle zone" with some intermedium unique drop.

- Tier 1 / 1.5 Darknessfalls. The real Challenge. Once here, you can activate the portal and come directly from Table Mountain.
Getting Ready
Lets suppose you just beat the original game content (vanilla), its the first run of your character (so you should totally forget about NG+) And you are still far from lvl 100.

If u tried Derinkuyu (Tier 0, the lower tier from Table Mountain, aside Deserted Goldmine) You probably died mercilessly

But, at least, you would be able to buy better gear from Table Mountain Vendors, and upgraded via Enchanters.

So, what to do now?

Aside Deserted Goldime to get gold, you have 2 options:

1- Selrock. A different town you can reach by speaking with Kelingtor, the steampunk robot badly constructed present at any town. Selrock offers some chains of missions that loop once finished. It has some map variety and rewards. You can access Selrock from a lot earlier, and consider it as a "parallel" act. the mission maps ADJUST TO YOUR LEVEL. Excellent.

Also at Selrock you can buy certain maps to special challenges with enemy hordes, Wich is nice to level up or get drop.

2- Embersteps. You can access from a portal at Estherian Enclave (Act 1 city) It offers its own chain of missions, where you must be commanded to seek and kill specific bosses everytime. As a twist, anytiem you enter the embestep, you may find or not the boss you´re recquired to kill, so it may take few expeditions to find your target. IITS SPECIALLY WORTH IT to complete those missions as it rewardswith crafting materials exclusive to Synergies, wich may be really useful - (Those items can still be found at Act V) - Map adjust to player level.

*PRO TIP: When few players, the level of Embersteps is determine dby the FIRST player to get in, so let the player with higher level to get in first.

** WARNING: Its easy to bug embersteps, if a player gets more thean 1 map ahead of others. If a player get into first map, players outside can reach it without problem, but if a character goes into second map, when players from outside get into the first map, it has a 90% to get bugged.

3- Mapworks. This is from original vanilla game, maps with buffs/debuffs and modifiers. Nort really recommended compared to other options, but still fun if u want to give it a shot.

4- Deserted Goldmine: Here you can get kilotons of gold, not really worth to level up, but trust me you´ll need the gold. IMPORTANT: the deeper you get, the more gold enemies drop. It would be worth to rush the first level without caring too much. As dying can be costly, I´d suggest to just die and start over.

Probably best way overall is Embersteps, but is nice to have some diversity and Selrock is a good addition. (Credits to Kelintor)

Getting Ready 2
So finally you are at level 90-100, and you have an on enough gear (well, ok for tier 0...)

Well, considerations for tier 0:

Take a look to your gear: It should be around levels 90-100, and should mbe composed by a SET (or few sets combined) Sets are powerful stuff.

Enhance your gear adding sockets and get your statistics up (VIT; STR; DEX; INT)

Fill the sockets with the gems you find more suitable... Well, mostly Damage Reduction to cap (75%) and HP, and maybe life/mana steal.

Safely Store your gold. Go to Selrock and get into Kel Vault:

Here you can store your gold by transforming it into scrolls, so you won´t lose it when you die. To recover it, go to Kel Vault again and trade scrolls for gold, using the correspondent chests.
Tier 0 - Derinkuyu
Ok, so as for now, your level should be 90+, you should be well-geared with 90+ sets, and even upgrade your gear using the enchanters. Somehow.

Time to get into Derinkuyu (Tier 0) straight from a portal at Table Mountain itself.

First: head into it, DO NOT touch the portals, and fight the mobs, so you can measure your strength. Can you keep yourself alive? does mobs take too long to die? maybe you need more level or better gear?

Derinkuyu (DK from now) Mobs can drop some good stuff. Legendary items, Vendor Boon Scrolls and a lot of gems and trinkets. Specially good ones are the Limoany (5% Damage Reduction) and Riechliu (+1500 HP)

Vendor Boon Scrolls let you to summon a special vendor. Thius vendor can sell you the Aberdoki and Celindari eyes, wich are gems with Damage Reduction. Combine them at the Transmuter and you get a Salan´s Eternal Eye, a gem with 8% Damare Reduction (!!!!!!) It´s actually the very best gem you can get.

To face DK its important to max your Damage Reduction (Wich max at 75%) and you can check it on the character sheet, at Arcane Statistics. If you still don´t have it, DK is a good place to farm for items to achieve it.

--- How does DK work ---

Map: (Credits to Dimster and Sinergistic)

DK is a staticm map, it remains always the same, and while mobs may change, map layout and portals are always the same. Each portal leads to a certain and only boss, always the same. Each boss can drop a certain number of Tier 0 gear.

And thats our target: To get ourselves a FULL Tier 0 Set, the one we may prefer due to our class / Build / Playstyle.

When we find a portal, there will be a message like this:
"The Gatekeeper is the key, KILL HIM !!!

If we click into the portal,it will dissapear. Somewhere else, not too far, the Gatekeeper may appear. ITs a lam Genious, similar to the Act 3 Djinn. The Gatekeeper for each portal always appear on the same spot, even if it can move a little around.

Once the Gatekeeper is dead, the portal will re-appear, but this time with the following text:
"Step deeper into the darkness"
Get inside and there we will find the corresponding boss (check map above) to fight and loot.

NOTE: It´s not worth to open several portals, even if we can kill few guardians, once we enter and exit the first portal, DK will be reset and the other portals will be closed again.

--- Bosses and Sets ---

Each boss can give a different piece from a few different sets. A single boss WILL NOT drop every piece from a single set, so you have to face different bosses to get all pieces of a single set.

That means, for getting a full set you´ll need to face few different and specific bosses.

To make it easier, here you got the map (again) a pic of the sets (click on them for larger image) and a list below pointing wich boss drop wich piece. Check the sets carefully to see wich one fits better with your character.

And now, a list of Legendary DK Exclusive items. They can drop from ANY MOB on DK

PRO TIP: Bosses respawn after 4-5 bosses are killed.

Now, repeat until obtaining the desired set. GZ.
Once done, we cango into next step.
Interlude. Crafting and Tier 0 enhancement.
Now we have our Tier 0 set. Time to tune and upgrade it. Synergies has a special crafting system, "Soulcrafting", specially designed for those Tier 0 Items.

Probably you have been acquiring certain gems named "souls", in different shapes and forms, and with no use. Till now. Lets hope you diodin´t trashed or sold ´em...

- Minor Souls, Lesser Souls, Greater Souls.

You can get them from elite and hero mobs during regular play (Elites has a green name, Heroes are gian version of regular mobs) And Also from NORMAL MOBS from DK or DF (DF=DarknessFalls, where we still hadn´t go)

Greater Souls can be crafted with a Catalyst Potion (from the vendor) + 1 Legendary item.

-Magnificent Souls

Drops from ancient trolls and rare dragons (coloured dragons)

-Angelic Souls

Needs to be crafted.

-Soul Stones

Drops from Tier 0 (DK) Bosses

---Recipes:

10 Minor Souls = 1 Lesser Soul
10 Lesser Souls = 1 Greater Soul
1 Potion Catalyst + 1 item legendario = 1 Greater Soul
10 Greater Souls = 1 Magnificent Soul
5 Magnificent Souls = 1 Angelic Soul

1 Angelic Soul + 1 Soul Stone + 1 piece of Tier 0 (EXCEPT RINGS AND WEAPONS) Will upgrade that piece making it "Soulbound", adding a 5% Damage Reduction to said piece.

IMPORTANT!!! - When you improve a weapon with Soulbound, every enchant, gems, sockets or whatever will be lost. At all effects, its a totally new piece of gear. So we probably do not want to enhance a Tier 0 piece before soulbounding it.

Once a piece is Soulbounded, it can be Soulbounded a second time:

2 Angelic Souls + 2 Soul Stones + 1 Tier 0 Soulbounded item = "level 2" souldbound item

Result will be a piece with 8% Damage Reduction plus a bonus to our HP.

So, we may need 3 Angelic Souls + 3 Soulstones to completely upgrade a piece.

In terms of efficiency, it should be better to upgrade each piece 1 time before starting with the 2nd soulbounds.

IMPORTANT: Second soulbound will erase enchantments and so exactly the same way first soulbound did.
Tier 0.5 - Or´Ak Pass - Or´Ak Basin
Ok so you got your Tier 0 set, and you probably soulbounded it once, (or even twice!). Remember to enchant it with the Stats your character may need, and add sockets into it.

You should already have 75% Damage Reduction and 30k HP. Also, you should be level 100 by now. Congatz.

....Because here comes the FIRST DEBUFF.

once you get here, chec your Arcane Statistics. Your punctuations will be affected, getting radically reduced. To see exactly how the Debuff affects you, hover your mouse at the icon that will appear top right of the screen. Basically:

- HP reduced in 4k (if you enter with 4k or less HP, you´ll get instantly killed)
- Ypur Damage Reduction goes down 45%
- Critical damage goes down 40%
-Block chance reduced 20%
- Dodge chance reduced 20%
- Critic chance reduced 20%
- Damage dealt reduced 20%
- PRobability of reflecting missiles reduced 20%.

So your gear must have to compensate that debuff.

Tier 0.5 is divided between 2 zones, Or´Ak Pass anmd Or´Ak Basin. To get into Basin you first must defeat certain bosses at Pass

Or´Ak Pass

At the marked spot, you will find the boss you must defeat to get into Basin. Randomly, you can face 2 options:

-Suljabar the Emberweaver

-The couple: Vooragg the Maneater + Kijog the Dreadfull

---Farming Tier 0.5 and its bosses:

There are few interesting drops here.

-Souls. For upgrading your equipment. The Trolls of Or´Ak are probably the fastest way to obtain Souls.

- Tier 0.5 Legendary Sets. They are not exactly better than your Tier o Soulbounded items, but they are still useful for concrete builds. They are basically Elemental Damage Boosting sets, each one for a concrete element.

--Frigid - Ice Damage

--Caustic - Poison Damage

--Inferno - Fire Damage

--Atomic - Electric Damage

--Legendary Skulls

Skull of Nalas
Armor/Trinket socket: +62 Dexterit

The Legendary Skulls has a low chance to drop, probably a 10% chance.
En cuanto al spawneo de bosses:

Mojin the Everlasting: As stated above, it recquires to complete one of 2 events to make him appear: Kill the Troll mages wich custody 3 altars, or clear a specific zoneof the map where there is a tomb.

Hornfall the Hated/Fang: Those bosses share the spawn point, and one excludes the other from spawning. You may need to reroll the world to make the other appear (by creating a LAN or Internet game)

Vooragg the Maneater + Kijog the Dreadfull / Suljabar the Emberweaver:
It can happen to both Voorag + Kijog appear together, or either Suljabar will appear, but NEVER the 3 at once.

Skulls without clear localization:

Skull of F'Daugh
Armor/Trinket: +185 Poison Armor
Weapon: +115 Poison Damage

Skull of Cy'skz
Armor/Trinket: +7% Damage Reduction
Weapon: +2000 Health

They seem to drop from regular mobs from Pass/Basin, but not confirmed.
Tier 1 Bosses (DarknessFalls) can also drop those skulls.

---Mercenary Scrolls- Really common at Pass, they summon a powerfull mercenary. There are different mercenaries, and each one has its own weapon and skills. They sure help a lot. They can die, but you can always summon another one.

Altar Loction (Kill the Troll Mages) to summon Mojin

@Tymek quote dead im afraid to say. I´m yhinking on starting a new run eventually and figuring missing stuff, but no promises here.

Hi, is the community still alive? I'm currently playing T2 with Synergies and I wonder how to upgrade mythic items. Can I soulbound them? They don't seem to be useful without some enchantments.
eldra 11. Feb. 2024 um 18:11
thanks for your reply, i'm still alive and i think i over-prepared myself for the 0.5 raid because i am shredding everything in there now, but i am a bit scared of the next area haha, i've got more minmaxing todo! :)
Seinekar  [Autor] 6. Feb. 2024 um 11:56
@Eldra: You are welcome! so badly, any piece of info regarding synergies were lost long ago with the forum, and i haven´t played myself in a long time, so finishing the guide as for nowadays seems pretty hard. Many times i thought on fully replaying into the very end and figure things for myself "the hard way", but never found the right moment to do it. Maybe someday i will retake it and figure that very latest content, but can´t promise anything.
eldra 6. Feb. 2024 um 8:24
also thank you so so so much for this guide! i remember this being on the synergies forums and thought it was lost, thanks for the guide to both you and salan

i'm doing this on a hardcore character and would love some info in Darkness Falls as well,
if there are any heavy oneshot mechanics or similar or dps checks (cause i'm very defense heavy)
Seinekar  [Autor] 9. Dez. 2023 um 11:46
Thx!! should get some time to figure what is still missing.

@Seinekar --
It's been awhile since I played through Synergies, but those alters were implemented. I just don't remember the recipes or how they worked, but I do remember using them a lot.
