These tips will help you to survive your first day / night in the world of Subnautica!

Steps to surviving!

Step 1
Exit your life pod.

Step 2
Swim around and gather a few basic resources.

Step 3
Play with a few Peepers.

Step 4
Notice its getting late, but keep exploring because the world looks so pretty and you don't know any of the predatory creatures exist yet.

Step 5
Realise it's pitch black and you are now 2000m away from your life pod.

Step 6
Hide in a coral tube until the night is over, or try to make a break for it back to your pod and get eaten by the predatory sea creatures and poop your pants.

Step 7
Repeat all these steps until you're finally brave enough to take on the creatures and have enough gear to survive properly.

Quick addition: Approach those crab stick looking beings, they look scary and make weird noises, but they're actually not that strong and they give a lot of hunger points
