Foreword
Apart from being a walkthrough, this guide attempts to explain some Russian-specific references / memes which might be quite hard to understand for those who can't relate to the Russian 90s' era in any way. As I was playing this game with somebody non-Russian speaking sitting next to me, I realised that some things should be explained in order to enjoy the game at its finest, and that it would be a pity to skip or not to notice at least some of all the little details this game has in abundance. It's up to you to check all the items in a location, I mentioned only some of them in the guide. Of course the ones which are necessary to interact with in order to proceed with the storyline are mentioned.

There won't be any explanations on the ending, though you might notice some hints that would help you to put the puzzle pieces together, also the game is 3-4 hours long, try playing it twice to see more from a different perspective.

Most screenshots have my cursor rollovered the objects that need to be interacted with.

Achievements

All the achivements will be covered in the guide, as you play the game you should get all of them EXCEPT for 1 on your choice (leave the money at store // give the money to an old man) - you would have to replay the game (or the episode) in order to unlock it.

Use Ctrl+F if you wish to find a specific achievement.

Commentary

The extra infos will appear in the guide right under the screenshots they are related to, if you feel super interested you might continue googling on those facts to know more about that topic, I didn't want to pour loads of infos - I guess short remarks would do the trick without bloating the guide too much.

Both commentaries and achievements will be framed in a blue and a grey frame respectively, the rest of the text is an actual walkthrough with additional screenshots. Obviously, there are spoilers, so if you care about it, look up in the guide once you are really stuck, but don't worry, the game is straight-forward enough, it shouldn't happen. This game has only one ending.

Day 1 -- Zhenya makes new friends.
You are in your room at your grandparent's place.
Finish the dialogue with grandma and take the knife from the drawer.

ACTION MOVIES

American action movies, together with horrors and sci-fi, were really popular and used to be iconic during the 90s, especially among young people. It would be hard to find a youngster who wouldn't hear about stars of golden action movies' era like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and others. You could see them on posters, collecting cards, chips, stickers, on t-shirts and even in videogames of that time. No Russian film could be comparable to action movies of that time when it came for special effects and brutal protagonists saving the world from bad guys.

Go outside, talk to the woman. Pick up the E thingy.

E Pick up an E-shaped plate

The mystery around E's

It's a reference to real things you could find under your feet when you are outside. Many people saw these E's on the ground and only few knew what they actually were - that gave a soil for suppositions and discussions making these.. a topic to discuss, many Russians can refer to it, that's why it appeared in this game. In fact, these are just parts used in an electronic device which is outdated in modern times but used to be popular many years ago. Some people would disassemble old stuff (to reuse/sell parts) and these E-shaped plates would fall from it/spread, giving other people reasons to wonder what are these.

Continue to the right, pick up tar next to the toy car and chew it by clicking on it and then on yourself.

JAWS Chew tar

Chewing.. tar?

Might appear a bit random but it's not. This actually used to be a replacement for a chewing gum for some (post-)soviet kids, especially got popular when actual gums didn't exist in the USSR. It's the industrial tar used on construction sides, while making roads etc. It can take this jelly-like form and be used as chewing gum, people who tried it say it has a specific industrial, chemical taste and your teeth became black. Somehow they managed to survive, but of course you should't try it if you don't want bad chemicals to be in your body.

Go further, talk to the children who lost their ball.

Go further to the right, don't enter the location between the garages yet, just continue to the right. Pay attention to the TV set - we will need it later. There is a poster about a missing child on the wall but it's not translated into English, it says about Karina, a girl born in 1983 who gone missing: she went to a store and never came back.

Enter the building: you can read somebody's letter from the blue letter box at the entrance. There also will be the lost ball - this is what we came here for, take it.

Return it to the 2 guys you met before. (Click on the ball and then on one of the guys.)
Now that you gave the ball back, one of the guys will reward you with a cigarette, take it and enter the area between garages now. You see a girl standing next to a basement door, talk to her and give her the cigarette.

After you two had a talk and you showed her the scar, she will go away and you will be able to enter the door she stood in front of.

Now that you are in the basement, interact with a red box - you will take calcium carbide, continue on the right and apply the chewed tar on the pipe hole to stop the vape. Then, go further to the right and interact with another box - now you have a hammer in your inventory. Go outside.

Now continue to the right to meet 2 new friends - Lyosha und Kesha who are building sth. Talk to them and give them the hammer. In return, you will receive a bottle of water - combine it with the carbid in your inventory to make an improvised bomb. Now go back to the location where you saw a broken TV set (it was on your way when you were looking for a lost ball). Apply the improvised bomb on the TV set - it will explode.

Calcium Carbide

You might think it's super random and dull-obvious to put calcium carbide in the game where your char says about "ah, this TV set can be easily exploded, if I only had sth explosive with me" and then you find this .. calcium carbide. Well, it's not really random as this substance was really used by bored Russian children as improvised bomb material - most known use for that is to put it into a bottle covered by a baloon and then explode it - it will make a little bright explosion and a very loud sound. It used to be easy to get from construction sites.

Head back to the very first location outside, on your way you will eventually meet a woman who moved from there - talk to her (choosing lie or truth don't matter) and continue further to the left.

Once next to your house, take your knife and cut the rope with linen hanging on it and head back to Kesha and Lyosha. Give them the rope. This will trigger a new character coming - Dasha.

Day 1 -- Hide and Seek

There are 2 missable achievements in this episode, read carefully if you don't want to miss them.
Now you see the fog under your feet and you are actually playing Hide and Seek. Let's find our new friends.

Dasha
Dasha will be hiding in the basement where the vape pipe was. So, enter the door right behind you, she will be sitting there.

PEE-KA-BOOO Find Dasha

Kesha
Kesha will be hiding inside the building by the exploded TV set - where you found the ball. So you will have to head back to find him. Go left, to the garages, then turn right and continue till the end.

No hiding inside... Find Kesha

Lyosha
Lyosha was hiding in the location behind halabooda. Talk about the House of Mermaids (literally translated "Dom Ruslalok") , then enter it.

Once inside, talk to everybody and click on the big pool ball - this will give you an achievement.

All questions will be answered Ask the magic 8-ball

Talk to Dasha and then continue to the right. The floor under you will collapse and you will fall deeper in the building.

Get up and go to the right till you hear a wind blowing sound - your friends will be next to you by that time. Once you finished talking to everybody, you will hear a strange sound and go outside.

Now that you are outside, it started to rain. Dasha will call you all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and will go away, so will Kesha. Finish the dialogue with Lyosha, the next day will start.
Day 2 -- Zhenya -- In the Library
Say hi to Dasha then head to the library. Zhenya says he is thirsty - go and interact with a big blue box in front of you - it's a water vending machine. This action will get you an achievement:

GAZVODA Try to drink

You used to see those in the streets of USSR and after it's collapse in early 90's in the streets till they got vandalised / destroyed, you could maybe see them but most likely they'd be out of service.

Go to the very left, talk to a guy looking for his little brother, head back to the middle of the location and enter the building. You are now in the library.

Talk to the girl in front of you - Masha. She will ask you to fill her friends' book.

Portraits

This one is also a very common thing to see: in Russian schools and libraries (not sure about modern days) back then you saw portraits of most known Russian writers framed and hanged on the wall. For the summer you would get a "reading list" - list of books you must read before the summer ends (read: before the studies start again), so you suffer have sth to do during summer and can discuss the stuff in classroom. The three portraits I put here in the reference image on the left are those pixelized in the game - they are easy to recognize when you used to see them pretty often.

Friend's book / questionnaire

These were just improvised little books created by children. They contained a bunch of questions like those Dasha asked you to answer. It's desinged to grab some basic infos about a person or to keep memories. It was also a great way to make friends - normally you would never hear "no" from a child to fill it out, on the contrary, they were eager to do it and probably would ask to fill theirs in return. Each book would look different as children tried their best to design it, using everything they could: different pen colors, stickers etc. etc.

After you answered her questions, approach the librarian woman, talk to her, she will ask you to fill out a card, go take a pen from a little cat on the table to the left of Masha, fill the card, head back to the librarian, she will tell you that she needs your reading list. We don't have it on us, so we will have to go back.

Once at the garages area, head to the left, say hi to Beata and enter the house.

Take the reading list, it's laying next to the TV set, go outside to your bike, ride back to the library.
Enter the library, give the list to the librarian, she will then ask you to await and dissapear. Head to the right till you enter a room with more bookshelves and a computer.

Read a blue book on the left for the achievement:
THE FUTURE IS HISTORY Read «Flames of Bygone Days»

For a better immersion, you can use the computer and read some stuff there.
After you finished, head back to the main hall - the librarian must be back. She will tell you that the books you are looking for are not there and are not going to appear. Leave the building.

Talk to Kesha then go back to your bike.

Gopniks != hardbass

You have probably seen/read about the guys in tracking suits, squatting and chewing sunflower seeds, or saw some hardbass references described as "slav guys" - these originally come from this subculture of gopniks - marginal people, usually from lower class. They tend to "gop" on weaker people, means attack without a reason, rob, beat up badly and sometimes even kill. Zhenya encounters young gopniks who beat him up and steal his bike. They do this because they know that they can easily avoid punishment and because of the inner aggression they have to show off with/let go.

After you got punched, Masha will come up to you, talk to her, listen about the "Ruins". After this a loading screen will appear and we will switch to play as Lyosha.
Day 2 -- Lyosha -- The Game + Incident in the attic.
In this part we are going to play as Lyosha. Talk to your mother, listen to what she says.

The music and the video sequesnce running on the TV is a real opening to a cartoon show called "Disney Club" - it was regurarly on air back then - if you ask anybody who grew up in Russia during that time they will probably have a tear in the eye recognize it and call it warm memories.

Here is how it looked like - Disney Club opening

The vid says it's from 2002, not sure why, but well, you will find Starcraft sticker in a questionnaire book which doesn't make sense as the game was out in 1998 and we live in 1996. I guess it was made on purpose just to play on nostalgia feelings.

90's Interiors and carpets

If you pay attention to the interiors inside the appartments in this game, you might notice something in common: bright red carpets, on the floor and on walls, heavy, massive cabinets filled with books, vhs tapes, some items and other stuff, old TVs, 1-2 chairs, a big lamp on a ceiling, heavy wallpaper pattern. Many items remained from the soviet era. These are common features of an ordinary appartment you could see in post-soviet countries. Might look messy or even kitschy but I bet every 90s' child will tell you they didn't mind / it was cosy.

Listen what a cute bunny you are and how to warm up chicken, then, after she's gone, take the game out of your backpack, it's on the very right of the room. For immersion, you could interact with some other objects / read stuff.

Put the catridge into the console which is under the TV, play it. Then, go to another room, pick up the phone, the lights will go off.

The orange wallpaper was also a popular and a cheap variant often used in the entrance room. Look at a plastic bag to the left of Lyosha.

Marianna plastic bag

You could actually see these in hands of dozens of people. The plastic bags exactly with this patters and a woman's silhouette was extremely popular and you might say it's not even worth mentioning but it's still a mini-symbol of the 90's, you can hardly see something common like this right now. This plastic's bag history remains unknown to me, I only know it's somehow connected to the TV series called "The rich also cry" which was aired in Russia, had a huge success and was popular especially among older people.

Go outside, reach the attic.

There will be a lever, pull it. Although it looks dangerous, nothing will happen to you. Now the kitty is safe and the fridge is open, interact with it, you will get a video tape with a note. Here we stop to play as Lyosha and switch to Dasha.
Day 2 -- Dasha -- Art School. Running from jerks.
We now play as Dasha, as she told Zhenya earlier she was going to her art school. Now you are at the school. Talk to Yuri and Sophie, try to quit the room, then talk to Sophie again, she will ask you to bring something. Now go to the right, behind Yuri in the top right corner there will be a cupboard with turpentine in it, grab it and bring it to Sophie.

The lesson is over as the teacher appears and tells you about the assignments.
Now you are outside, talking to your mom over the phone, finish the dialogue, go to the left, to the bus stop. You will eventually stop and wait but then decide to go on foot. Continue to the left to enter the next area. As the rain intensifies and you go further to the left, you will meet 2 guys: one in a camo uniform and one looking like a metalhead, go in their direction, they will start a conversation with you.

It doesn't matter what you answer, the outcome will remain the same. As things become aggressive for you and a hot pursue starts, RUSH inside the hole in the fence! Now you hear music and have to find the way out of there, go to the right, inspect the car, go back to the left, pick up a brick, then throw it at the car's window, you will automatically pick up a screwdriver. Use it on that little ventilation window as shown on the screenshot, and get inside.

Now you are in some kind of meat factory, go a bit on the right and take the fireaxe from the wall, then go on the left where the toilets are.

One door will be accessible with a "Ж" letter on it - you can enter it and read something for additional lore infos. Then quit it, and break the planks with your axe to access the other one - enter it, go to the left and pull a lever out from something alive and moving. There also will be a door, enter it, read some notes if you wish, then take a key from the locker and pull a lever on the wall.

Proceed to the right, use the key to open the door, stick the lever inside a box and pull it, a safe will open with a note inside it.

Now head back to the toilets and keep going on the right till you see a lever on a wall. Pull it, a door will open, enter it.

Continue to the right, you will hear a voice calling for you, then you will have to enter the door. Use a ladder to go downstairs, it will be on the right. Go to the right, interact with "it" and see what happens. At this point we stop to play as Dasha.

Day 2 -- Kesha -- Store
We start at Kesha's place, go and answer the phone - Lyosha is going to tell you something and you agree to meet in an hour. Your father will ask you to bring something, take the blue box from the drawer and head to him.

Talk to your dad, listen to what he asks you to do, quit the room, head to the right, take a wallet from the drawer which is to the right of the fireplace, then head outside. Head to the right till you meet a grandma asking you for help, answer her, then enter the store.

Now that you are inside, you see there is nobody around, go to the right and enter a wooden door. Go to the left, interact with a floor hatch, you will hear a locking sound, go back to the wooden door, try to open it. Now that you know you are locked inside, you have nothing left to do as to jump down the hatch. Do it.

Now you are underground, if you go to the left, you will bump into a dead end. Go to the right, try to open the door, something will spit on you.

Now you will find yourself in another area - somebody's appartment. Everything is blurry, you gotta find your glasses first - they will be on your left on the drawer - just go over them you can't pick them up with a mouse click for some reason.

Deer carpet

It's actually a really existing carpet pattern. For some reason (probably because of domestic production spiced up with a lack of goods) you could see this carpet in many people's appartments, especially when it came to old people's homes. From the style it looks like it was made back in the USSR and, like many other things produced back then, like toys and furniture, it made its' way till 90's when the production wasn't so good and imported goods weren't really spreading fast.

Go to the left to read stuff if you wish, discover that the door is locked, then go to the right till you reach a bathroom filled with blood. Listen to Kesha's commentary and head left till you see that something grabs you.

Here we stop to play as Kesha and take control over Zhenya again.
Day 2 -- Zhenya -- Ruins and Cemetery
Now we play as Zhenya again, while other things were happening we were making our way to the "Ruins" - the place where our stolen bike might be. Masha showed us the way and refuses to go inside. Finish a dialogue with her.

Now that you are inside, head to the left till you see a door at the end, enter it, go to the right, - Masha will arrive at this point, - you will see a dead kitty as you proceed down the corridor. Continue to the right till you are in the room with a hatch door on the ceiling. Interact with a blue drawer - you have a bunch of keys now.

Head back to the main hall just where you started and head to the right this time till you see a locked door, use the keys on it, enter.

Take a crowbar, it's on the left of your screen, interact with other items to get some additional infos and now make the whole way back to the room where the hatchen door was. use the crowbar on the hatchen door to open it. Get inside.

There will be only 2 things to interact with: a sparrow and a diary, do it, then go back. Head to the left till something weird happens. You will wake up in another place. Go to the right, use the ladder to go up. Take the pliers from the closet on your left, then head to the right. You will see yourself in a gasmask, once the vision is gone go to the right and break the chain with the pliers, enter the door.

Now you are outside, check the remaining of a fireplace on the left, the remainings of your bike on the right, and keep moving. You will see a page torn out of Masha's diary on a swing - take and read it.

Go to the next location on the right, you are at the graveyard, go to the right till you see Masha, talk to her.

Old cemeteries

In Russia there are thousands of large collective cemeteries, most of them have nothing in common with American or European ones especially when it comes to the way they look. They might look really eerie when visited during bad weather and almost always they will look ruined because nobody would take care of them. In this game you can see how an actual cemetery really can look like, with some special type of graves which are really common in Russia: the green one with a star on top is the one for red army soldiers and the other one that looks like an orthodox or old believers' cross.

We will now switch back to play as Lyosha again.
Day 2 -- Lyosha -- The VHS Tape
Lyosha is waiting for Kesha as they agreed to meet over the telephone, but the latter never arrived. He gets to know Beata and they decide to watch the tape together.

Once you take control over Lyosha, go to the right till you see a hidden hole in a wall. You call for Beata and find that she's already on the other side.

Get into the hole and proceed to the "Train Graveyard". Get inside the train. As you start walking in the fog, you will bump onto a dog, take a stick which's on your left, then throw it if you want to get an achievement or choose to beat up the dog but in this case you'd miss the achievement.

YOUNG ANIMAL FRIEND Don't beat the dog

Now that you solved the dog problem, get on the train's roof, use the ladder, you will hear a howling sound and in a moment you are going to be at Beata's place. Go to the right, don't forget to inspect stuff if you wish to read

You can find this picture which might look like something that doesn't make sense at the first glance, but if you look at it in the right way you will see another picture in it. Such type of pictures are called stereo graphic images. You must know some tricks in order to reveal the hidden image for example how to unfocus / relax your eyes and then focus again on some spots. If I'm not mistaken, those used to be printed on soviet notebooks to train childrens' eyes, I personally saw them in some newspapers and find it easier with paper rather than monitor. You can google how exactly to look at them and then try to "decode" this one. Do you see dolphins? in it?

..then Beata will call you and the right door will open, go inside.

Beata will ask you to put the tape inside, do it and watch the TV
Day ? -- Karina -- At home.
You now play as Karina - the missing girl, talk to the aunt, go on the right, check out the presents.

Look under the TV there is a box with moto racer on it.

DENDY CONSOLE

Dendy is truly one of the most recognizable symbols of the 90's. It is an illegal copy of Nintendo's Famicon (known as NES worldwide) console made in Taiwan/China which was being imported in Russia creating the first generation of 8bit games accessible to wide range of people. It was affordable and rapidly become popular. Basically it's the 8bit console for Russians, with all the NES games playable on it. Many Russian kids had it back then and still keep warm memories about it. Lyosha also has it, his version is called "Dendy Junior" - one of the best variants you could get back then.

In the TV there is also something looking at you.

VID TV Company

This logo used to be nightmare-bringing to Russian kids and soon became a meme. One special thing about this picture is that it was in an opening short video you used to see pretty often right before a TV program starts. It had a very sharp, eerie music and face poping on the screen, making the kids ♥♥♥♥♥ in pants and creep out. Probably the biggest fear was that the eyes would open. For some reason, many kids were sure it was Yeltsin's face (who was the President of Russia back then). You could google VID Company to see the story behind it and what is actually on its' logo.

Look to the right of the TV and above it.

Russian New Year

Karina says it's a pity they couldn't afford a real tree this year. That's why on the wall you can see an improvised tree made from tinsel - one of the ways to meet New year with a "tree" in the house. I guess you might know that Russian New Year is a big event, just like Christmas, having all the attributes of the latter. The gifts are laying under the TV - you would watch it in the 90s while "meeting" a new year to hear the President's speech or leave it as musical background. You could also see a very common Santa toy made in USSR of papier-mâché. I used to see these pretty often for some reason.

Go to the left, to another room, talk to your mom, wait for your dad to come, listen to the dialogue.

Easter egg?

I'm really not sure about this one but I feel like it might be an easter egg. Karina's dad reminds me of a character from a soviet comedy called "the Irony of Fate", there is also a drunk man, wearing same type of hat, a striped tie and he can hardly stand on his legs. An important detail is that this film is still on air even till the present day: each 31th December you can see this film on Russian federal channels, it's considered a .. tradition? to put this on air on the New Year's Eve. We clearly see that it's somewhere close to the New Year while playing as Karina, so all these things could be connected.

You will now quit the appartment and go to the store as your mother asked you to.
Day ? -- Karina -- At the store.
You are now outside, head to the right.

MMM Fraud

The ads you see on the wall behind Karina represents one of the biggest frauds in history. Unfortunately for naive part of the Russian population, it happened in hard times both in financial and in personal sense - in the 90s. The amount of victims is not known exactly and varies between 5 to 10 billion people - all of them lost their money in hope for a big and fast profit promised by a company called "MMM" having Ponzi scheme as its idea. It tended to use a very aggressive marketing campaign. The company went bankrupt at one point and it's creator, Sergei Mavrodi, was jailed.

You will meet an old man with crutches - remember where he stands, if you want an achievement. Continue to the right, you will meet two guys - Kesha and Lyosha

They will ask you whether you have some firecrackers and suggest that you all meet at the wasteland. Continue to the right but don't enter the store just yet - pick up a crowbar on the right and then enter the store. This store might look familiar to you.

Stores

The way a store is pictured in this game reminds me of a real store from the 90s: long queues, emptiness on the shelves, cans piled up in pyramids and even the traders with a special blue uniform! One of the women in a queue would mention "food coupons" there were used in USSR and shortly after its' collapse to obtain food and other products that you couldn't get without such coupons. The state was controlling when you get all that stuff and in what amount because of collosal lack of goods and import. You could get those coupons from your work.

Listen to what the adults are saying, then proceed to the right. You will step on a sausage - pick it up. Proceed to the door on the right, try to open it, then go back to the left, quit the store.

Once outside, go on the right, enter the backyard. There will be a kitty sitting on a sewer grille - give it the sausage.

The kitty will go away and your keys will slip off your fingers into the grille, use your crowbar to open it and go downstairs.

Now that you are downstairs, go to the right and enter the door, now again go to the right and open the red box, there will be a screwdriver inside.

Now head back to the left, skip the door you came from though, there will be another, single door on the very left, enter it.

Go left, take a valve form a locker. Apply this valve on a pipe on front of you. Quit the room, go to the double door you came from again, then turn left and proceed till you see a ventilation grille with something red hanging.

Use a screwdriver on it, you will get a scarf. Now head back again to the double door, enter it, and go to the right. You will see that the vape has stopped and you can proceed to that part of the area, use the ladder to go up. You are now in the shop's backroom.

Take the eggs, milk and a key hanging on a wall. Choose to leave the money to get I am not a thief achievement or keep it to get a girl with a big heart achievement later.

I’M NOT A THIEF! Leave money at the store

Use the key to open the door, exit the backroom, you are in the store again, proceed to the left, exit the store.

Go left, you will see the old man again, give him the money if you decided not to pay on the store and you will get an achievement. If you payed in the store, you will probably have to replay the game again to get the achievement

Little girl with a big heart Give alms

Go to the left till you see your home, enter it, hear the parents quarrelling, you are going to leave the house again.

You see Dasha outside, talk to her, then head to the wasteland where your friends are waiting.

Proceed to the left till you see a weird statue. You can put a scarf on it for the achievement since there is no other use for it.

WARM AND SOFT Put scarf on a statue

Keep going to the left, slide down, now you see the fog again. Go to the right towards the weird sound, enter the sewer.

Go to the right till Karina says it's a dead end, then head to the left, watch the scene.
The VHS ends here and we are back to Beata and Lyosha.
Day 2 -- Lyosha -- Impressions after VHS.
We are back at Beata's place where we started to watch the VHS. Talk to Beata, she will tell you about her impressions. During the dialogue they will mention Militsiya (Militia) - it's how Russian police used to be named back then, just a little remark in case you were wondering.

Criminal Russia TV Series

"Criminal Russia" Lyosha mentions is an actual Russian documentary TV series about serial killers, crime groups, organizations and other criminal elements from the USSR and Russia. Earlier episodes such ones aired before 2000s are particularly known for their raw graphic content, disturbing music and uncensored footages from the police archives, I think calling those Russian version of "Faces of Death" wouldn't be much of exaggeration. The series could be nightmarish for some kids for the reasons mentioned above, and the music is still recognizable. Example (might need VPN).

You and Beata will find a note with the address and decide to go there on the next day. Not much happening here, you just have to read the whole dialogue, the the next scene will trigger.
Day 2 -- Zhenya -- At the police station.
You now play as Zhenya and you are in the police office. The police officer will interrogate you, the phone will ring and he'll go away. You decide to leave.

Interact with everything you can, take the key and open the door with it.
Go to the right and enter the white door, in the next room look at the "insect", then enter the door.

You entered the toilets, interact with the sink, take the keys from there, take the matches from the wall, and the green bottle laying on the right. There will be a window above a pile of portraits - we will come back to it later.

Now go back to the room with an "insect". Apply bottle on the insect, then use matches on it, it will disappear. Use the keys to open a drawer, take a razor from it (rectangular dark thing).

Now head back to the toilets, use the razor on the widow, get out.
After Zhenya's lines a new day will start.
Day 3 -- Lyosha (and Beata) in an abandonned building
It's the next day.

You just arrived at the address that was on the note from the VHS. Talk to Beata, enter the building. Inspect stuff around, if you wish, then go to the right and try the door - Beata will ask you to find something so she can open it. Go to the left part of the room and click on a doll which is on the shelf. Take the wire from it and give it to Beata, let her open the door, then enter it.

You are now in the new room, go to the right, click on the photo, it will zoom in, then click on it again - take the key from the back of the frame.

Go to the left, open a box with the key you just found, remember the year on the photo - 1962.

Go to the left to enter a new room. There is a door in the center, we gotta find a missing key to apply the code. Head to the left, enter the weird room with words on walls, open a little box to the left of a seashell, there will be the missing key. Go back to the door with the code lock and put the key there.

Apply the code (use your keyboard) - 1962 - and hit Enter, then click on the door. You enter another room with fog.

Day 3 -- Zhenya -- Back to the cemetery.
We play as Zhenya again. Go pick up the phone before your grandma does.

Lyosha is at the phone, he says that he can reach neither Dasha nor Kesha and asks you to go down and meet him in a few minutes. Listen to your grandparents talking, you will then go outside.

Speak to your friends, you will then appear on the cemetery, showing them where you seen Masha for the last time, then you will enter a new location.

Enter the door on the right, the fog appears and you start walking deeper into the tunnel, watch the cinematics.

Go to the right and pull a lever on a red shield down. Under that lever we will find Kesha's glasses, take them , apply the tape on them and give them back to Kesha. Talk to Kesha, then check the gates on the right. Now head to the left and interact with a dark green box - you will find a plastic card inside it, take it and apply it on a white box left of the gates.

Wait a couple of seconds, it turns out to be an elevator - get inside. Talk to Kesha.
You arrived somewhere.

Go to the left, open the wooden door, turn off the electricity, go back to the elevator door and proceed to the right. You can't open the room no.7 yet, so keep going to the right, enter a grey door (the first accessible door), if you wish, read stuff there, then exit the room and keep going on the right again.

There will be another locked door - ignore it, and go to the next one, enter it, inspect objects and take the key hanging next to the "suit". Leave the room.

Now go back and turn the electricity on, the first wooden door to the left of the elevator.

Go back and head right, open the room no.7 with the key. There will be a computer. If everything was done right, Kesha will talk to us. Leave the room now, discover more if you wish though. Go back to the elevator, you will hear it moving, wait till it stops

Go to the left and enter the huge door

You found Lyosha and Beata, talk to them.

Now enter the double door, you will now hear the music, go to the right, enter the first door, there will be a gramophone - turn it off by pulling a lever on a red shield, it's on the right. Exit the room.

Continue to the right, enter the room with snow. Discover what you can, then exit it.

Continue further, to the right, you will see an elevator, Beata will say she used it already with Lyosha. Go to the right, again and enter behind a metallic door.

You are now in a strange room with a creepy statue, read stuff if you wish, then open a drawer under the PC, there will be a book, click on it, you will find a tape, click on the tape, you will now have it in your inventory.

Now go far far to the left till you pass a big metallic door, you will see a door with the red shield next to it (the shield says "Archives") - ignore this door for now. Continue to the left till you see a green door and enter it - there will be a tape player. Put the tape inside it and "listen" to it.

Discover what's left in the room, quit it, head to the right to the Archives - the door with the red shield we ignored. There will be a box with code lock - use the code from the tape - 312 to open it, you will now have a floppy disk.

Exit the room, head to the room where you saw a computer, it's on the very right end of the location. Put the floppy inside the computer.

The computer screen will change its color from green to red and Beata will now disappear.

You just called an elevator, but it's in the other room, quit the area and proceed to the left, quit the room, you now must be back in the corridor with the big trace on the wall, go to the left, enter the doorway.

Enter the elevator. Once you are downstairs (or upstairs), go to the right and enter the doorway. You are now in a new room you've never been before.

Look at the book which is on the table, pay attention to the phone number of G.Andreev - 255447. Go to the right, inspect stuff, check the pneumatic post - there is a hint, - room 45, - giving us an idea what number we had to pay attention to. Pick the phone and dial 255447, then hit enter, pick up a scalpel and enter the door on the right.

Use the scalpel on the moving meaty thing, inspect it and pick up ~something~. Head to the right, inspect other stuff if you wish.

You are now in a dark room, go to the right and use ~something~ on the double door on the right.
Go to the right and pick up the phone, listen to the speech, wish you sth and go to the elevator.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR Make a wish

You are now back home. Take a brand new video tape from your backpack next to the fan on the left, and insert it in the vcr player.

The titles will appear. That's it, you finished the game!
Afterward
Although, it looks like that the game's primary target audience are Russians, I still believe that it's worth an attempt for everybody who might be interested in understanding some little moments of modern Russian culture of that era, which is hardly covered in video games, to create this guide.

I hope it helped to notice a bit more details than you expected and make more sense of the game for non-Russian speakers.
