Expedition Map

The numbers in white indicate the distance of the location from the main seamap. This determines how long the voyage to that location will take, dependant on the speed of the convoy.

The possible trading locations are split up into five regions, each with five possible locations. Each region will have exactly one trading location present, with which one of the five is selected being random in each game.

This means there will be five trading locations present in each game.

The first good listed is the primary and is usually purchased/sold in greater quantities. Goods are also traded in that order. If the convoy's holds were filled with the secondary good before being sent, this can result in situations where insufficient quantities are sold to allow for purchase of Wine/Cloth, as the space will have already been filled with Spices.

Thus it is wise to leave some free cargo space when sending an expedition and carrying a mix of both cargo.

Been some time since I played, but IIRC expedition cities get depleted in the same way as the cities on the regular map. So you need to give them some time to refresh their inventory.

hello, i wanted to ask do expedition cities get "depleted" or can you just spam the same city every time?

Did you check all of the locations marked with that colour on the map? Each colour will have only one trade location, randomly picked each game.

As far as I recall, you don't need to have goods already loaded to uncover a trade location, although there is little reason not to have at least a few goods when hunting for the trade locations.

i have a question, ive bought the game recently and ive tried exploring the two points furthest left without finding anything. will a city only be revealed if i have goods to trade them?

That is one of the things I'm keeping an eye out for while going through the game data.

Very helpful info! I never considered time for expedition as a function of distance, but it makes sense. I've also wondered about how the star-ratings of the destinations work precisely and how that effects supply and demand of goods.
