Ending Guide

A guide on how to reach the three endings with pictures. It has been made to be as spoiler free as possible.

Welcome

Hello everyone. A guide on how to reach the main endings of the game. It focuses on the normal route instead of the hikikomori route which ends similarly to the neutral ending.

Boss Fight

Please note that you have to confront Basil during the sleepover to reach this point.

Confront Omori. You have to fight him until he makes you afraid. At this point you can either let him kill you or keep trying to beat him until he kills you. Defeating him will unlock the good and bad ending options.

Good Ending

Choose to continue. Enjoy the cut scene. You will wake up in a room. Leave the room and head down the hallway. You will see your friends and Basil. Both groups will head in opposite directions. Follow Basil to another room and head inside for the ending.

Please note that following the children leads to a dead end. It won't hurt you if you check it out.

Secret Ending

You have to water Basil's plants 3 times during his segments to unlock the secret ending. I'd water them over several days to play it safe. I just say water the dead plants when available. It appears a lot of people are having trouble getting this to pop. I am unsure if the trigger changed since the update. This had mainly been information confirmed by the data miners. They originally claim you only had to water them three times. I had watered them all and constantly. I will leave the choice up to you.

Anyways, if you manage to unlock the secret ending. It will play after the credits on the good ending. Keep in mind that watering Basil's plants gives you bonuses.

Bad Ending

Do not continue. Enjoy the ensuing cut scene and events. You will eventually wake up on the roof with only one optionof jumping off the building. Complete this option to unlock the bad ending.

Neutral Ending/Stab Variant

You a number of options on what you can do here depending on you.

To unlock the other ending achievement. Go straight home after sleeping over at Basil's house. Do not pick up the knife. Watch the ending credits in its entirety.

The stab variant ending is same as above except you pick up the knife in the kitchen before going to sleep.

NOW...



At the sleepover at Basil's house. Either go sleep OR skip out and head on home. Check below (*) to see what you could do at home. If you go to sleep. You will wake up while everyone is still asleep. You can either go back to sleep OR (again) go home. The third option is to confront him except this will lead to the good ending.



If you go back to sleep at Basil's house. You will wake up alone. You have the option of looking for everyone OR (again) going home. You will find everyone in the hallway near Basil's room. You have the option of talking to everyone and seeing Basil before heading home.





* Once you get home. You now have two options. Either grabbing the knife in the kitchen before going to sleep or heading straight to your room to go to sleep.



Go to bed to enter the white space and stab yourself to "wake" up. You have only two variations of an ending you can reach in the morning. Either it ends with either both Basil and yourself dead; or only Basil dead and your character moving away.

Again, to unlock the other ending achievement. Go straight home after sleeping over at Basil's house. Do not pick up the knife. Watch the ending credits in its entirety.

Is the ending for seeing or not seeing basil supposed to be the same? Or am I missing something? If I dont go back to sleep at basil's, it seems like going home still gives me the same endings if I do.

ok so when does the boss fight happen bc im on stage rn and i think i passed it but idk it didnt give me the option to fight omori but i already fought basil

Is it possible that the trigger for the secret is dependent on if you choose the VHS tape labeled "Basil" in the hole after collecting the "P" key?

I don't get it.... all the endings' triggers seem to start at a sleepover at Basil's, but I never got the option to have a sleepover at Basil's loll. I have no idea how I got to that point and now the only thing I can do is wake Sunny up in the morning (with that weird ass ghost following me around) and get to the car with Mom and the game simply ends like that. No after credits scene and no explanation whatsoever about what the hell is going on... I think I made a bunch of weird choices and it brought me to a dead end route. Oh well, time to play again!

@JollyJelly starting to suspect that the original suspicions are wrong for watering the plants. Maybe the original trigger assumption was incorrect. This was something confirmed by the data miners. Whom claim that the trigger is watering the plants 3 times during his segments.

I tried to follow the children in good ending route and I saw a glass door, but my character would shake his head and not go in?
