Introduction
The game doesn't require much fiddling thanks to hard effort of the community, especially Wesp5 who made a great unofficial patch and all the collaborators. Nonetheless, below I describe what you need to do to make the game run properly so as to enhance your experience and avoid potential issues.
Instructions
1. Install the game on Steam.

2. Download and install the Unofficial Patch v. 2.0 which fixes an enormous amount of bugs and includes translation of cutscenes to English.

3. Download and install film grain removal and AMD flickering fix.

Just copy the .txt files into the game's ..\postprocess folder

That should be all! Enjoy the game!

This did not work for me very well unfortunately. Got some error regarding sound and game crashes. Strange that the game does run fine without the patch and film grain fix. Only issue I have is when exiting the game. The game will not stop running.

It seems that the patch doesn't completely solve the memory leak, but does significantly reduce the frequency of crashes. So thumbs up from me

I don't remember it crashing a lot, so probably? But I can't answer for certain, you'd have to ask Wesp5.

Does this also fix the memory leak that causes saving to crash the game if you spend too long in the same area?

i have checked the .ini files with no luck -- ive also tried using a non widescreen resolution thinking perhaps that affected the horizontal mouse movement somehow but still no dice. im probably wrong about why theres a discrepancy between vertical and horizontal mouse movement but i can't figure it out.

Have you checked .ini files?

any idea on how to fix the aiming? it feels like the vertical sensitivity is lower than horizontal or something, the aiming just feels really off.

Oh, I didn't realize it. The last patch I played the game with was 1.8, I think.
