7L-S2 Thumper

The Thumper is a production prototype built by AzureOrdnance as a test run for an auto-loading gun system. Featuring some rather thick armor as far as Imperial vehicles go, with frontal interlocking hull armor plates and Grip slate protecting an 8 round explosive drum of 10u bomb tipped ballast projectiles.



As it is not officially in production and enlisted as an Imperial military vehicle it was never given a B-Designation, though this machine has still had a production run built and is in service with around 20 divided up between armor platoons.

Of the 15 in service that have seen combat, results have been mixed... but was expected with a first generation auto loader. Its reliability is lackluster, the shells can get stuck half way into the breech, the rammer gets caught on the loading tray, and the accuracy cannot be trusted beyond 100 meters. But that being said, its armor has held up, and its 2 stage experimental ammunition is capable of throwing 10 mass HE shells at 300-310 m/s with devastating results on impact.
