Introduction
Sadly, Danganronpa V3 has a very nasty bug that, despite what patch notes say, still manifests itself from time to time. This is hardly something one would expect, and many, myself included, don't really bother making multiple save games each time they can. This, along with weird lack of autosave function, can bloom into a rather nasty surprise (like it did for me today, almost voiding 15 hours of progress).
Hopefully, this guide will help any and all who find themselves in such predicament. So calm down, and prepare to follow the steps below.
Seance description
We are going to need one iron cage, a heavy statue of a dog... Okay, okay, I'm joking. That said, process sure as isn't exactly logical, and I managed to figure this method out by the dumbest of luck.
Alright, let's go.

Step 1:
Open your save game folder. It's not too difficult to find. Consult this article[www.pcgamingwiki.com] for help with that.
Once you found it, copy whole "remote" folder somewhere else for safe keeping. In case things go south, you'll have backup of at least something.

Step 2:
Identify broken save file. It's easy - each file has name like SAVE-DATAXX.dat where XX is number of save slot in menu minus one. So slot 15 is SAVE-DATA14.dat, slot 1 is SAVE-DATA00.dat, and slot 30 is SAVE-DATA29.dat

Step 3:
Identify any working save file that you don't particularly care about, for it will be deleted/overwritten soon. In case you have NO other working save files, you'll have to create one by starting new game and fastforwarding up to a point where you get the MonoPad. Obviously you shouldn't save this into slot where broken save file resides.

Step 4:
Write down/copy name of save file from Step 3, and then delete it.

Step 5:
Take broken save file from step 2, and rename it into name from step 3.

Step 6:
You can start game and load that save now! It will be located in slot where "normal" save file was, but it will have all data, progress, etc from "broken" file.

Step 7:
Make multiple new saves by proper in-game means. Better safe than sorry, right?

Step 8:
Do the seesaw trick.
Questions and answers
Q: Why can't you just copy broken file and make "new" save out of it, without rewriting pre-existing working one?
A: Because game is made this way. In fact, you can go on and try doing this even with working save files - you'll see that they don't appear for some reason or another.
I assume that game keeps track of "good" files somewhere, so making new files manually obviously won't be detected by it.

Q: Can I somehow prevent this bug from happening?
A: Hell if I know. Supposedly it was fixed by patches, but there are multiple threads with people having same problem, so it still happens.
It seems to be happening when you are asked if you want to save your game, like before class trial, or between chapters. So maybe picking "No" and saving manually is way to go (in case you don't know, you can save any time you can open up MonoPad, and you can open MonoPad almost anywhere and anytime, save for movies and mini-games).

Q: Can I somehow minimize damage done by this bug?
A: Sure! Keep many save files on hand, not just one. If one corrupts, you will have others to fall back to!

Q: This here is retarded, you actually do this and that!
A: Save files corrupting out of nowhere is retarded. I simply found a way that seems to be working and share it with others, because you can lose ALOT of progress to this bug, and let me tell you, Danganronpa on fastforward still takes alot of time, even if you neglect Free Time all together.

Thank you, Guide worked out, even if finding the Save files were kinda not easy, strangely it happend at the 3rd Trial so this Guide spoke a bit too much to me

UPDATE: First save slot is now haunted, and everything I save in it gets deleted. Gotta use the other slots, I suppose.

This literally just happened to me. I was playing the salmon mode and the game crashed. When it opened it again, the save file was gone. Luckily I had one I didn't use and I managed to do this. It seems to work now, so thank you very much for the help.

one thing I'd suggest is to reword steps 2 to 5, it took me a second to get what you meant but in the end it worked out so it's all good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
