California, Here I Come

This is going to be my first scenario so please tell me anything that goes wrong or broken.

In March 2022, a nuclear accident at the Diablo Canyon power plant in San Luis Obispo, CA causes the evacuation of over 20 million people due to the worst reactor meltdown since the Fukushima Daiichi power plant 12 years earlier. Only 2 months later, multiple earthquakes strike along the San Andreas fault line and goes up the state with magnitudes from 8.6 to 9.6. Damage is recorded as far east as Las Vegas and Reno with windows shattered and light structures damaged. The 'Fruit basket of the World' has been ripped to shreds. In November, communist senators and congressmen are elected in an extremely fragile agreement with the California Democrat Party with reactions ranging from verbal arguments to violence in many conservative areas in California.
By the 2024 election, the CPUSA and SPUSA are beating Republican incumbents accross the USA. For the first time in American history, communists openly hold seats in the U.S. government with a increasingly unpopular nationalist president in office. The following month creates the largest riots in American history. All states have mobilized their national guard units and 25 states have stationed soldiers from the 82nd and 101st Airborne for putting down riots. By Christmas, militias have formed for the purpose of protecting communist and socialist government officials and are openly fighting national guard soldiers.
At 6 AM, January 20th, Pacific Standard Time, militias in the Capitol city of Sacramento seize the Capitol building and many national guard soldiers defect. Counties in California who dídn't comply are forcefully taken by national guard soldiers. The cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Monterey declare themselves safe havens for soldiers who defect. The Marines and Army await orders while rioters attempt to break into their barracks. An ultimatum is issued to California by the Federal Government that if they do not stand down by February 14th, the United States of America will consider California to have seceded from the Union and declare war.



I wrote this scenario back in 2019 for my own entertainment but have decided to upload it to Steam for your enjoyment. I hope this explains the background information and that it doesn't pertain to the political situation right now.
