Good call. I'm looking forward to the navy update coming out in the future, and I hope after that is out of the way, us SE fans can see some nice QoL improvements like your idea.
I wouldn't mind seeing something similar for ground units that would help in choosing the right engine size for the unit's weight. You spend the BP to produce a model only to find out it's underpowered and have to send it back through the model council to deal with that at cost of more BP and turns.
Thanks for the pointer on the rule of thumb, and also for the guide obviously. I played 4-5 games prior to the release of the air forces, while I managed to have a good grasp of the other mechanics the design of the aircrafts I find it very confusing. The fact is that for motorized units you have just to compare total weight with engine power, while for aircrafts there are a lot more variables which depend also on the characteristics of the planet. Also, the manual does not explain in detail all of such variables further making it obscure.
When did you start your game? I'm pretty sure the aircraft suggestion by the secretary was added in one of the beta updates. But I dunno how useful it is anyway. It probably just tells you when to use air engines and when to use rocket engines.
