How to make all Furniture Sit-Able (Beginners +)

In this Guide, I will be showing you how to turn any normal piece of Furniture, and turn it Into one you can actually sit down in! Please note, this is a very basic tutorial. Thanks! :)

Welcome to... "How to make all Furniture Sit-Able (Beginners +)"!

In this Guide, I will be showing you how to take an Furniture in Garry's Mod, and let you sit it!

This is super easy to do, and a lot of fun! Let's get started with step 1.

Step 1

Step 1 - Take a seat!

The first step in this process is a simple one. Choose what piece of furniture you'd like to use!
In the Defaul Garry's Mod configuration, there are a bunch of awesome seats you can use! Plus, there are even more in the Community Workshop!

We decided to go with this Blue Couch, for 2 reasons. 1. It's a perfect seat, and 2 people can sit in it! 2. We drink a lot of Blue Kool-Aid. We also spill a lot of Blue Kool-Aid.

Step 2

Step 2 - Spawn and configure our actual chair

The next step is also pretty easy. All you need to do is open your Item menu (Q) and go over to the Vehicles tab. Then find the Half Life 2 subsection. Finally, spawn an Airboat chair. (Any chair from this area will work, this one is just prefered.)

Next, you need to press and hold (C) this will open your context menu. Once this menu is open, you will regain control of your mouse. The first thing we need to do in this menu is highlight our new Airboat seat, and the right click on it. This wil open a small menu with a few option. We want to select "Disable Collisions". Now you can stop holding (C) and we can continue on.

Now, you want to use your Physics Gun, and pick up your chair. You want to move it over so it's inside your Furniture like in the picture below.

After that, you want to right click to freeze it. We did 2 chairs for our couch. Both the exact same way.

Now go ahead and grap your weld tool from the item menu (Q). Once that's selected, left click on your Airboat seat.

Now you want to left click one more time on our actual Furniture. This will connect our Airboat seat directly to our couch.

The next step is to head back into our item menu (Q) and select our Color (Colour) tool. Once you have that selected, continue holding (Q). On the right you will see a color selector, and some other settings. Change your settings to match the following.

Once they match, you can release (Q). Now, with the color tool in-hand, you are going to left click on your Airboat seat(s). Now they will appear entirely invisible!

Our next step is very simple. Grap your Phys gun and left click on your invisible Airboat seat(s), and your actual furniture.. This will unfreeze them.

Step 3

Step 3 - The hardest step of them all

As the title suggests, Step 3 is the hardest step of this entire guide. Just kidding. It's really easy. All you need to do now is walk up to your seat, look at it, and press (E). Vioala! You're now sitting in your own custom Furniture!

I though I'd include some other 'Bonus' info to show you some other cool ways to use this technique.
You can use the same idea, but with a Pod and a bed to make a functional bed!

You can also use it to make a working Toilet! Okay... It's not a working toilet, but at least you can sit on it!

i found a fix for the flashing seat, just change render FX to none. well that worked for me

When i use the collor gun the seat just flashes

The whole point was to do it without any add-ons. Sit anywhere is obviously superiour. This is just a neat trick.
