Prerequisite
Mercenaries are specialist units acting as improved versions of regular ones. They are randomly generated as the map is loaded. Outlaws are mercenary-like units that cost less coin but more population then actual mercenaries (they are also unlocked in age 2). The available mercenaries are shared across all players, but some civilizations can unlock more:

I have a question. Bandido's defense against ranged weapons in the game is displayed as 30%. But everywhere they write that 25% is like owlhoot. Owlhoot gets bonuses from the Mexican "Voltizhor Plan" card, but Bandido doesn't. I don't mind of course, but I want to understand if this is a bug or how it should be?

The guide is now updated. I guess I could update the defense (resist) icon of units but I think it's fine at the moment. Don't forget to rate up so other people can find the guide.

The screenshot method would have been simpler but then you couldn't copy the numbers.. I will when I buy the DLC (the plan is to buy it on the winter sale so should be updated by the end of the year).

Not gonna lie, but if you used the snip tool/print screen and grabbed the unit pic and info you could have made your life easier to making this.

Will you be adding in mercs and outlaws added in the african royals?

if you can build them in age 2 they are outlaws. Otherwise they are mercenaries

I feel like "Mercenaries and outlaws are not the same thing for the purposes of cards and upgrades" is a detail that should have been present.

will update the melee stat and some new african units. But I don't have the DLC so it's kinda hard to get the outlaws on the new maps.

Ronin are absolutely horrifying if you can mass them after giving them the proper upgrades, especially if it's something that ups their movement speed. XD
