Description
No friend, these aren't horror maps. They have some scares in them, but they're not horror maps. Yes, some have jumpscares.
i'm sure you'll find some way to tough-guy through them though, i believe in you

A collection of all of the spooky maps I could find used by the guys at the J2 forums. I've never been able to find them all in one place, so here you go. This is not intended to step on this fine fella's toes, I respect him for doing it first, but I gotta keep these together for consistency and accessibility. I also took some fresh screenshots and wrote some half-assed descriptions of each map.

turning on your flashlight on on some of these maps will break draw distance, i'm not sure why, but it's entirely done by the maps
this can be fixed by putting " r_flashlightfar 100000" in the console
If you find any actual bugs, like missing sounds, let me know on my profile. I will fix it as soon as possible.

I take absolutely NO credit for these wonderful maps. If any of the original authors are unhappy with their maps being included, let me know ASAP and they will be removed.

cs_deadhouse - an eerie mansion where something seemingly went very wrong, and now countless amounts of ghosts haunt the molding halls. map by Nipper[gamebanana.com]

cs_silenthill - obviously based on the psychological horror classic, this medium map is coated in thick fog and has an oppressive atmosphere and soundscape. map by AlphaKennyOne[gamebanana.com]

de_boohouse - an unfathomable abandoned(?) building where nothing can be trusted and every room has something new waiting for you to pass by. map by Dr Boo[gamebanana.com]
please note, this map has doors that are just visual brushes that npcs can see through, i can't fix this (as far as i know) without editing the map, which i'm not gonna do
i'm trying to keep these maps intact, just fix their problems and add non-invasive stuff

de_deadblock - a map that has different spooks every time it's loaded, but consistently has an unnerving atmosphere with dark corners and thick atmosphere. map by AlphaKennyOne[gamebanana.com]

i was able to load into the map without doing this now? idk it's weird, if you're getting crashes use the command, otherwise enjoy

de_fearmansion - a strange mansion where every room is filled to the brim with as many haunts that could be crammed in, no room is comfortable or quiet. masks line the walls and occult activities are still being performed. map by Dr Boo[gamebanana.com]

de_hangcastle_s - a creepy courtyard / castle with smiling faces peering back at you the whole time you're here and torches barely light most areas. map by Dr Boo[gamebanana.com]

de_haunts - a personal favorite, this is a recreation of disney's haunted mansion ride with some liberties taken, it's super cute and fun to explore, it even has a functioning albiet kinda buggy cart you can ride through it with. map by Nipper[gamebanana.com]

de_livehouse - not related to deadhouse from what i can tell. this map seems to be set in a mansion after some great ritual takes place, sitting the building in a hellish fleshy landscape and outright turning parts of the house into flesh, giving it life. highly disturbing, unnerving, and a lot of fun to run around with some friends. map by Nipper[gamebanana.com]

de_nightmare - very relevant name, this map takes place in a bad dream, where you go from one uncomfortable dream scenario to the next. from a graveyard to narrow halls to running through a forest into a cabin with bloodied walls and an eerie radio playing, this map is fantastic at accomplishing what it set out to do. map by AlphaKennyOne[gamebanana.com]

de_paranoid - another perfect name, this map is constantly unsettling, set on a cliffside in the pouring rain, you can enter an abandoned gas station with a crime scene left in it, a mansion with some very active and angry ghosts, or enter the forest to find a lonely cabin or a strange lab. map is credited to HomicidalApe, Mr. Blip, and Ayeyah.[gamebanana.com]
this map has a script error with sb advanced nextbots, it still operates as normal, it's just unhappy one of the nodes has too many links

9/7/24 update
fixed some bugs and added navmeshes and nodegraphs to ALL of the maps! just in time for halloween? hm?
nodegraphs were generated using cpthazama's nodegraph editor tool, and manually looked over / tweaked by me
also used some commands from strawwagen's navmesh optimizer, again with manual checks and tweaks
i wouldn't have bothered doing this if i was just gonna generate ♥♥♥♥ lazily and cram it in, this took all day
without these two tools, this wouldn't have happened!
keep in mind i am new to doing this, these will NOT be perfect!
maps were all manually checked and tested with plenty of playtime using arccw weapons and zinv, so it should work for most things you throw at them.
if you notice nextbots aren't going into certain areas on maps, it's intentional
i will be rolling out updates over time to fix problems with these, but otherwise, this pack should be finished!
