The Shape's Backstory Compared to Other Killers
  • The Shape is the only killer in Dead by Daylight to be essentially unkillable. Myers has been tested throughout the movies with his biggest physical test was being rammed by a truck and then shot by a firing squad falling into a mine shaft. He has managed to always come back to try and murder his obsession, Laurie Strode.
  • Myer's is the only killer to not have any manipulation or true gift given to him by the Entity. Most of the killers are referenced being brought to the fog, and to serve the entity.

People hoped that Michael Myers would end up a parenthesis, soon to be forgotten and buried, a failure that soon were to rot away. But then...he escaped.

His backstory is extremely vague as to how he was introduced to the entity in the lore of Dead by Daylight.
  • Myer's is the only killer with no reference to the entity. Only the word evil is used from all the text given to him.

Gameplay and Minor Details of the Shape
The Shape is still the only killer to have the ability to kill survivors from any state. The reason why this is important is that his only requirement is to simply look at people to fuel his powers and of course bring the addons. Looking back at how killers perform moris in the game, he is the only killer not requiring any real gameplay mechanics (besides looking) to perform these executions. Him being able to mori survivors from healthy is part of his identity and reminds me of how straightforward the entity is when a survivor is hooked. The entity doesn't waste time as its goal is to feed on the survivors it has been brought. Devour Hope and Rancor being the only teachables to perform moris with heavy pre-requisites. Personally, I consider the reason why these teachables have many requirements to fulfill is because of gameplay balance and also because the entity needs sacrifices to sustain itself and doesn't want the killer jumping the gun. Although mori offerings do exist, they are offerings to the entity. Moris (besides the yellow garbage for the last survivor) still require a hook of a survivor at least once to mori.

The Shape introduced the obsession perks with the claws of the entity surrounding the survivors icon. Killers since the Shape have been given obsession perks with the icon of the claws. I think this is interesting as Myer's has no reference to the entity, yet he is the killer starting perks with the icon of the entity specifically.

When you mori all survivors off of first hook, chances are you get the "Entity Displeased"
gameplay rating of your match. We could put this perspective of Myer's being disastisfied of how the player handled the situation, or we could look at it as Myer's himself displeasing the entity. I'm open to both ideas. Myer's after all is a chad!!!

The Shape has extremely small details and effort put into his character. For example, he has a minor detail dedicated only to him regarding PWYF stacks. Each token determines how much Myer's clenches his left hand. And the tombstones open his hand with readiness to grab a survivor. It doesn't make sense why there are so many minor details put into Myer's. Myer's is also in a way full control of his power and presence in the game. Him being able to control how he functions in different styles is something the entity does to others. Even Freddy has been tinkered with the entities powers.

A moment of falling and spinning and then Freddy was back in the school. But not his school. It looked the same, but it felt different. His powers were tempered in some ways and focused in others. The boy had gone for now, but another prey walked the hallways. Some would be inconsequential; others would become his new favorites. All would fall before his claws.

This is a stretch but hopefully you can see how Myer's and the Entity are similar in how they kill.
The most similar detail is how both of them kill a survivor with two stabs only. The entity is like a hand, grasping at a survivor then stabbing them exactly what Myer's does in his mori. The timing of each mori is very small in difference. They both are around the same time with the difference of it confirming when the survivor is considered dead. One is in a human form and the other is in a spider like hand. The mori of Myer's and the entity could've been different. I know this can be nitpicking but the animations of both are both simple in a sense in what causes the death of the survivor. Only two stabs for the survivor is required. All the mori animations for every other killer differs from only two hits leading to the survivors death.
Who Really is Myers?
I would like to believe Myer's in DBD lore is the Entity. I am positive that Myer's is either something even more overwhelming than the Entity or must be a human embodiment of it.

Some humans are simply bad seeds. Seeds infused with a distilled and pure form of evil.

The Entity is the cosmic embodiment of evil, turning worlds inside out with its very presence

Evil is the main word describes for Michael and the same is described of the Entity. Simply Evil.

Exactly, that's what I mean they probably weren't hinting at something else. They were just happy to get a simple vauge thing down rather than going into that whole mess.

But the later movies went into the reasons of his origin story and other stuff. Granted we don't know everything, but its just weird thats he still has a background explained in the later halloween movies. But the stories are a mess and other sequels make it not canon.

I think because the creative directors very much wanted to keep his story super mysterious, as his lore is. Compared to others like the Pig (Amanda) where we know everything about her. It just makes sense to keep him mysterious rather than revealing facts the don't have.

Thanks haha. Yeah I know that for licensing constraints they couldn't say anything about Myer's becoming the entity, but after all its just a theory or visualization. I'm just thrown off how Laurie and Myer's doesn't have reference to the fog, or entity. I'm just confused because of the way they wrote other licensed killers is nothing like him.

I really wouldn't say he's THE Entity, however the Entity obviously has some connection to it, in the form of him just being in the 'arena'. The Entity has been around for many years in the blood web, long than Ml. For his Mori it's just a huge knife, it kills people, it sort of is a nick-pick. As for when it says entity displeased, that's because it likes when you sacrifice people, not just outright kill them. Even some survivors barely use the world the Entity, if a tall. Take Felix for example. He just walked after the projection of his dad and he disapeared. Lastly for this cluttered comment I would also like to bring up the fact it wouldn't be wise to add M as the Entity. He's a licensced character meaning he does have some constraints. The reason for the vauge parts of him being infused with evil comes from the fact they want him to be mysterious. So chances of Michael being the Entity itself? Slim to none. Other than that really good overview and amazing writing!
