Hitman 2: Silent Assassin All Missions Pro Difficulty With SA Rank Guide

In this guide, I'll try to explain how to get Silent Assassin rank in all missions(except for the final and tutorial mission 'cause ranking system is disabled in these missions). So, what are the requirements to achieve SA(Silent Assassin) rank? These are the requirements: Must be stealthy as possible in a mission in its entirety, Avoid firing a gun at all(several missions require you to fire a bullet or two), avoid eliminating and harming non-target personnel and civilians, avoid close encounters(an encounter that almost compromises stealth) and avoid aggression(battling enemies will increase your aggression. Sometimes, when you do an unwanted noise like detonating a bomb or firing a gun your aggression increases or it just reduces your stealth performance in a mission).

Some notes:
-Running is really crucial in this game especially in Pro difficulty 'cause enemies in Pro are paranoid as hell. So, When you see an enemy looking at you, don't run just walk. I think enemies in Pro have increased field of vision that make them see you from far distance.
-Don't stay near guards for a long period of time especially when you're facing each other. Your disguise will be blown.
-In some missions, the running detection mechanics are broken like in Japan missions.
-In Pro difficulty, only targets are shown on the map.
-This game has annoying bugs. So, prepare to be frustrated.
-Some mechanics in this game are random like the guards and civilian patrol routines. In some missions, the patrol routines of enemies and civilians are fixed. Sometimes, it's random.
-Some(I think mostly) missions don't need perfect stats(people would like to call it "All Zeroes" stats) to achieve SA rank. Though, a little increase in stats might ruin your SA rank especially in Pro difficulty.

Prologue(Italy)

Mission 0 - The Gontranno Sanctuary
This is a short tutorial mission. Ranking system is disabled here.

Mission 1 - Anathema
This mission is pretty easy. There are three entrances here: The main gate and two doors at the side. Go to the 1st door next to the main gate; sedate or kill the lone patrolling guard at the door; get his disguise; move through the basement then go to kitchen and then go to near balcony; move across the ledge and watch your step; peek out the target's room window or a keyhole and wait for the target to come in its room; Once the target is inside kill the target and get the basement key; go to the basement and use the basement key and then move out and move across the hill to escape.

Russia

Mission 2 - St. Petersburg Stakeout
This mission is tricky and kinda annoying. First, we need to get the sniper rifle in locker #137. The problem with this first step is the civilians. When a civilian sees you with sniper rifle or opening the locker, that civilian will go to a nearest guard and report your bad deed. When this happens we have no choice but to restart the mission. Also, the civilian routine here is random.

Once you get the sniper and pass the civilian, move through the escalator and check the guards patrolling. There are two guards patrolling near escalator. I think the guards routine near the escalator is also random. So, be careful. Find the door that leads to sewers and find the ladder that leads to a truck. There's a disguise near the truck.

Get the disguise then go to the building on the opposite side of the meeting place. Find a sniping spot in the building and aim your sniper to the general that is near to the meeting place's window. Unfortunately, there are 4 generals that attend the meeting. So, we need to wait for at least three ID's before eliminating the target. Once you kill the target, get out of the building quickly. If you want to take the sniper rifle with you I think it's better to stick with your current disguise. Otherwise, drop the sniper and take back your suit. Either way we will still get SA rank. I didn't try the first one, It's just my assumption. Anyways, we will escape by train in this mission. So, we need to go back where we started.

Mission 3 - Kirov Park Meeting
This mission is pretty simple. There are multiple ways to finish this mission. The two popular methods are the sniper method where we try to snipe the two targets at the same time and the bomb method where we put bombs on targets' car and let it explode. In my walkthrough, we will use the bomb method.

First, get the bombs near the trash bins. The sniper is also in here and getting it is optional. Once you get the bomb use the nearest manhole and go to the sewers. Then, find the manhole that leads to one of our target's car and that car is blocking the manhole. Put one of our bombs under the car and then find the second manhole that leads near the next car. When you climb the manhole and see a box nearby then you're in the right track. Crouch(not the sneak-crouch) near the box and wait for the car driver to come by and then sedate the driver.

Once you sedate the driver, go to the car and plant the second bomb there. Then, you can take back your suit and go to the starting point where the boat is located. Wait for the bombs to detonate to complete the mission. Once the objectives are complete, escape via boat.

Mission 4 - Tubeway Torpedo
First tough mission in this game. Find a nearest manhole, go up and sedate or kill the first guard near the manhole. Change your disguise and go to the cargo with red letters. Get the phone, pager,bomb and bomb remote and then wait for the nearby phone in the outpost to ring and then the guard guarding the second manhole will come over the outpost to answer the phone. Once the guard is occupied, go to the second manhole and move through the sewers. There's another manhole on the other side that leads to a nearby building which is our way to the basement.

Once we get out of the sewers, use the nearby stairs to move over the warehouse. There are guards patrolling here, follow the guard that will enter to the warehouse's door and once you're inside the warehouse find the elevator and go to the 1st basement. Now we're in the first basement, this part is tricky. There are times that we need to pass through guards face to face and obviously they will be suspicious. When this happens, just keep your cool and just walk while passing through guards. If you run, Your disguise will be probably blown.

We have multiple objectives in the 1st basement. First, we disable the surveillance system. Don't use the surveillance system main door. Use the door at the back. Once you're in the surveillance system room, shoot the lower part of the surveillance system. When shooting the surveillance system use your silenced pistol. Once you disable the surveillance system, the cameras are now useless.

Next, get out of the server/surveillance room then go to the sewer station room. Use your map to find the sewer station room. Then, Activate the bomb and drop it near cracked wall. Then, go to a room with "!" sign in the map near guard quarters. Don't enter yet, just stay near the door. Then, detonate the bomb and wait for one guard to come out of the room and then there's a disguise in the room, get it and move to the elevator that leads to the 2nd basement.

Once we're in the second basement. go to the room where the target and the agent is in. Don't enter yet, stay near the door, drop the pager and use the phone to ring the pager. Ready your fibre wire and once the general get out of the room, kill him immediately. Then, save the agent and move back to the 1st basement, then go to the sewer station room. Because of the explosion a new path to the sewer has opened. Use this new path and find the exit point in the sewers.

Mission 5 - Invitation to a Party
One of the easiest missions in this game. Getting a disguise in this mission is optional and I think completing this mission only using the default suit is much simpler than using a disguise. First, don't use the main gate, use the door at the side but this door is closed, so, we need to use picklock. Then, enter the building go to the left side, find the general and kill him. Once you kill the general, find the ambassador and pay attention where the ambassador will go. Then, Once the ambassador starts to open one of the safes, wait for the safe to be opened then sedate the ambassador or sedate the ambassador, get the safe combination and open the safe yourself. Get the briefcase and also get the chocolates Agent 47 deserves a treat :)
Then, exit the building and go back to the boat.

Japan

Mission 6 - Tracking Hayamoto
Pretty tough at first try but this is a pretty simple mission.There are multiple ways to complete this mission. In this guide, we're going to do a simple approach. First, hide on the rock beside you and then wait for the two guards to move before moving to garage. Then you can sedate/kill the patrolling guard near garage. I recommend to kill the guard because sedating the guard might ruin our timing. You can also ignore the guard but it will take more effort to pass by the guard without being seen.

Go at the back side of the garage and go to the first door in this area. Then go to right door, cut the Fugu fish to get its poison sac. Then, look through keyhole there's a guard that is going to pass across the hallway. Wait for that guard to pass across the hallway and that guard will go out to talk to the guard outside. Use this opportunity to go to the kitchen and then put the poison sac and the transmitter to a nearby small plate. There are multiple plates in the kitchen and will be served to the target randomly. There's a chance that the plate with poison will be served first, last or somewhere in between.

Now, go back to the previous room you were in and wait for the guard outside to pass across the hallway again. Once it happens, use the door on the left and go back to the starting point. From here, we need to wait for all objectives to be complete before we go to the exit point. You can hide by the rock or crouch by the flowers. When hiding by the flowers use the crouch mode not the sneak-crouch mode. Once all objectives are complete head to the exit point immediately.

Mission 7 - Hidden Valley
One of the frustrating missions in this game. Several annoying bugs and annoying random elements ahead, be ready to be frustrated. First off, there are snipers in watchtowers that randomly view the outside area. Hiding in trees for a period of time reduces the chance of you getting caught and getting hit by a sniper. Mind you, getting hit by snipers kills you immediately. Go left while avoiding snipers and find the truck and go to a nearby wall. Then sedate/kill the guard patrolling near truck. If you decide to sedate the guard, be sure to finish the mission fast or else that guard will alert other guards. I recommend killing the guard to prevent an unnecessary alert. You can also ignore the guard but you need to do some kind of awkward sneaking. You can get the crossbow at the wall's corner if you want.

Now, there's a hut-like structure nearby and we need to go there because there's a way there that leads to the underground level. Once we get down the ladder, sneak by the door and wait for the patrolling guard to come in. Then, get out of the room by sneaking and then move through the underground road. Moving through the underground road is the hardest part of this mission, Patrolling guards here have random patrol routines. Most of the time, they move in zigzag pattern. So, you need to figure out how to move through here by yourself. We need to pass one checkpoint and once we pass that one checkpoint we will use a truck to move across this road.

You can watch my video about this mission to give you an idea on how to move through this underground road. Also, there's an annoying bug here that breaks the game. Sometimes, a truck might accidentally hit an enemy and if that happens, all trucks might stop moving and since we can't rely on trucks anymore we need to do more effort just to pass across this road. Moving trucks are essential part of this guide. Also, this bug alerts guards because a dead body is lying on the ground and the game decides that that accident is the player's fault.

Mission 8 - At The Gates
Note: In this guide we need to eliminate two enemies. So, our stats should have 2 enemies killed and a very little aggression. Going beyond this stats will probably ruin SA rank.

This mission is kinda hard and failing in this mission is annoying because we need to traverse a very tedious path every time we restart this mission. First off, move in the right area with trees. Then, there's a lone guard there and try to sedate/kill the guard. Get the guard's clothes and go to the first alarm grid and disable it.

There are three alarm grids in this mission. One of them won't be shown on the map. So, we already disabled one we just need to disable the remaining two. Now, move right until you see an entrance to a watchtower. Enter in that watchtower, use the right door(facing north), go up, go get out of the watchtower and disable the second alarm grid located in a corner. This part is hard because you need to make sure that the guards standing by in the watchtower are looking at the windows. Otherwise, you will be spotted and no choice but to restart.

Now we only need to disable the last alarm grid and it's located in a room at the top of the stairs on the opposite side of the second alarm grid. Once we disable all alarm grids use the door near the third alarm grid, go left, then once you reach a corner go left again, go to the right entrance, use the stairs and head to the exit point.

Mission 9 - Shogun Showdown
Note: Annoying bugs ahead like guards not praying in the praying room and running detection mechanics are bugged here. Don't stay near guards for a long time. In this mission, You could run near guards but don't run too much. Run the distance yourself from guards and then walk when you're far enough from guards.

Note: The written guide in this mission is summarized due to character limit. To better understand my tactic in this mission you should watch my video about this mission

This mission is simple but it takes a lot of steps to complete with SA rank. There are multiple ways to complete this mission with SA rank and we're going to do a simple but slow tactic in this guide. First off, use the hidden door on right, use the stairs and look through keyhole. Make sure that the guard on the other side is not facing the door and move to the next room. Also, be careful with squeaky floors. Don't step on those or else guards might hear a squeak and become aware of its surroundings.

Then, find a keycard that can open entrances with lasers. After that, find the disguise that is located in a room near the helipad and get the bomb which is in the room near the room where you get the disguise. Then, plant the bomb in the helicopter, get the guidance system, go to the security room and alert the whole castle, go to the starting point, wait for the target to get in the helicopter, detonate the bomb and head to the exit point which is very close to the starting point.

Malaysia

Mission 10 - Basement Killing
Note: cutscene time is relative to game time in this game(or in this mission only). So, if you skip the cutscene then the guards patrol routine might be a bit off in your playthrough.

An easy mission but figuring out a tactic in this mission is hard. My tactic here is simple. First off, Go to the security department fast, open locker #137 and get the smoke bomb and pistol SD. Then, go to the laundry room and put the smoke bomb there. Then, wait near the fire department and wait for the firefighters to move out. Then, go inside the fire department and disguise as a firefighter. Then, go to the basement, destroy the surveillance by shooting the computer, go to the target's room and kill the target. Avoid stepping on chips lying on the ground or else the target may sound an alarm and our SA rank is ruined. After killing the target, go to the surveillance area and use the elevator to escape.

Mission 11 - Graveyard Shift
Another frustrating mission. First off, wait for the lone guard patrolling near the starting point. Then, sedate the guard and get his clothes. Use your map and go to the with no label on the bottom-right near the guard room on the right. There's a keycard in that room that we can use to open the aircon room.

Then, Go to the aircon room and kill the server air condition by shooting it at its center part.Then a system administrator will come to the server room and fix the server. This is our chance to enter to the server room. Once the system admin is done fixing the server we can put the hacking device onto the server and hack it.

Now, for the tricky and hardest part. We need to go to the skybridge because the exit point is there. I think there are multiple system administrators in the area near the skybridge and I think one of them is patrolling near the skybridge and its patrolling behavior is random everytime we restart this mission. So, pay attention to that system admin and the two guards guarding the skybridge. before you pull out your pistol SD make sure that no one is looking at you and the guards should be in the same spot facing left. Once all criteria are met, pull out your pistol SD and shoot the glass. Shooting the glass is the only way to get through the skybridge.

Mission 12 - The Jacuzzi Job
This mission is kinda hard because of the guards random patrol routines. First off, climb over the railings and stop near the wall for a short moment. Then climb over the railings on the adjacent side. Careful moving through the arc concrete bar. Then, climb over the railings again once you're on the other side. You can get the nightvision under the table near the sofas. We are going to disable the electricity in this place. So, nightvision might come in handy. In my video walkthrough I didn't use nightvision.

Hide beside the plant in the corner near two doors and wait for a guard(or two) to come inside this room before going to the target's room. Go to the target's room and hide near the pot. Wait for the girl guards to go out of the target's room and eliminate the target. Hide the target's body by the heart-shape bed near the windows. Wait for the girls to come in the room before going out.

Sometimes, there are guards that patrol the hallway. Watch your step until we reach the circuit box. Once we reach the circuit box, turn off the power, take the money in the safe and get the statue. Then, wait for the elevator door until the electrician comes out in the elevator. Then, exit by the elevator.

Afghanistan

Mission 13 - Murder at the Bazaar
This mission is pretty simple once you overcome one particular problem. So, go to the first target house, when opening the door try to step on the right side of the door. This might affect the position of the target upstairs. Once the door is open, sneak and go upstairs. This is the particular problem that I'm talking about: This guy sometimes face the stairs. If this happens, You have no choice but to restart the game. Otherwise, make sure that the guy is not moving his head before going upstairs and kill him. Then, get the coordinates from the target and get out of the house. Once you've done this then you can relax now because the second target is easy to kill we just need some patience though.

Now, for the next target. Go to the market and hide in the last stall behind crates. Wait for the target to come in the stall then kill, hide the target's body in your hiding spot and get the key. Then go to the eastern gate to exit.

Mission 14 - Motorcade Interception
This mission is hard. First off, go meet the man that will give you the sniper rilfe. Then, before you get the sniper, Sedate a guard nearby, drag the guard to a hidden area, get the guard's clothes and get the sniper. This part is kinda frustrating because there's a civilian that randomly patrols in this area. When a civilian sees you dragging a body then you have no choice but to restart the mission.

Once you get a disguise and the sniper rifle find the roof with a good view to where the target's car is moving and it's close to the exit point. Then, wait for the right time to snipe the target and head to the exit point. Remember, don't kill or injure any UN members, otherwise, The mission will be compromised. Also, I think if you fire three or more shots in this mission, SA rank will be probably ruined. So, Only one miss shot is tolerable. Also, don't kill anyone, only kill the target to secure SA rank in this mission.

Mission 15 - Tunnel Rat
This mission is pretty simple. First off, move to the left side then there's a lone guard there that you can kill/sedate. I recommend killing the lone guard to prevent an unnecessary alert. Then, move to the right until you see the warehouse and the entrance to the tunnel. There are two guards here, wait for the guard on the left to pee and then kill the guard. Then, sedate the other guard before he move to the other side of the entrance. At this point, don't kill non-target people anymore and don't raise an alert. Otherwise, SA rank is ruined.

Now, enter the tunnel, find the target's room, look through keyhole and if the target is not in this room it means the target is in another room which the target is vulnerable. Once you enter the room try to sneak because I think the target has a good sense of hearing. Once the target is dead, head to the elevator where the cargo of interest is located. Use the elevator to go to the ground level and secure the perimeter. We already secured the perimeter when we did the earlier steps. Now, we just need to escape.

India

Mission 16 - Temple City Ambush
The most frustrating mission in this game. The layout of this mission is confusing that's why finding objectives here are tough. First off, find the messenger and then a point of interest is revealed by looking at the map. This point of interest is randomly assigned every time we restart the mission. Go to that point of interest and there's someone that will greet you there and will give you your second objective.

Now for the hardest part, our second objective is to kill two assassins, take pictures of their dead body and send it back to the person that gives the second objective and another point of interest will be revealed. Actually, there are three assassins here and the third one is a pain in the ass. The third assassin has a ridiculous field of vision and once that assassin sees you, that assassin will chase you for eternity and breaking the chase is almost impossible.

It's possible to break the chase with that assassin but once you kill the two targets and ready to go back to the objective giver, that assassin will probably kill the objective giver before you reach him. Leaving you no choice but to restart the game. There's a notification pops up when an assassin sees you but sometimes there's no notification when the third assassin sees you which is annoying. The positions of the assassins are randomized. so, be cautious when finding them.

So, in this guide, we will eliminate that assassin with a help of a bug. Yeah, killing this assassin head-on is hard and wastes bullets that ruin SA rank. To kill this assassin with a bug we need to be noticed by the assassin and hide in a small open space near a staircase in a room. Once the assassin notices you, he will follow you. Then, lure him to the open space. Don't equip anything yet if you do the assassin will open fire. Once the assassin is near you, wait for him to turn its back and equip your fibre wire and then eliminate him and take his clothes.

Once you eliminate the third assassin, it's time to kill the real targets. Find the sniper first, that assassin is positioned near a window at second floor of a structure. Once you kill the sniper don't forget to take a picture of its dead body. Now, for another hard part of this mission we need to kill the second assassin which is blending with the people. Finding this assassin is easy, once you see a man with a black cap then that's the second assassin. On the other hand, killing this assassin without someone sees you do it is hard. My tip here is to lure the assassin in a room where you can kill him easily without someone looking at you do it or just use the sniper and make sure no one sees you with the sniper.

When you successfully kill the second assassin there must be one alert pops up.Then, you can take a picture of its dead body, go to the objective giver, give the pictures and another point of interest is revealed. Go to that point of interest to complete the mission. If there are two alerts pop up then it means that someone saw you kill the assassin or someone saw you with a weapon and you need to restart the mission because SA rank is ruined. You can still complete the mission with two alerts but your rank will be probably "professional" rank.

Mission 17 - Death of Hannelore
This mission is pretty simple but this mission takes time to be completed. First off, wait near the boat until a guard comes near to our location. Eliminate the guard and take his clothes. Find a way into the building and go to the storage room. Get the poison and the door key and get out. Then, find the room where another disguise is waiting for us. Get this disguise and go to the lobby.

Then talk to the nurse nearby and she will escort you to the target. Then, wait for the target to move away from her desk and put poison in her drink. Once the target is dead, hide her body in a hiding spot that is indicated on the map. Make sure that no one sees you dragging her dead body. Once you successfully hide the body you can now go back to the boat and complete the mission.

Mission 18 - Terminal Hospitality
This mission is kinda tough. First off, Move across the left side near the ship and hide behind boxes. Then, go to a nearby pool and there are clothes here that we can use. Then, move through the path in-between cliffs, find the open window nearby and unlock the door. Once you're out of the room use the left staircase. Once you're on the second floor, turn left, turn left again, turn right, turn left, go straight and use the door directly across the hallway. Then, go to ground level and two door are there. Don't open the surgery room door open the other door.

Then, go to the roof and there are four square holes each leads to a room in second floor. Look beneath the holes and find a desk with blackbox near a computer. Once you find it, land in the desk open the blackbox, get the room key and nightvision. Go to the room where another disguise is waiting for us. Get that disguise and head to the surgery room which is located in the basement. Go to a room where a scalpel is located and pick lock the room where the generator is located. Then, turn off the generator.

We need to be fast in this part. There's a time limit on how long the power is turned off. There are four operating rooms and the target is in one of these rooms. Use nightvision and check all operating rooms until you find the target. When you find the person lying in the surgery bed that is bald then that's the target and eliminate him immediately. Then, find the door that leads to the other door that we just picklocked earlier. Then, go back to the boat.

Epilogue(Russia & Italy)

Mission 19 - St. Petersburg Revisited
Pretty simple mission. We're not going to use any weapons here except for the fibre wire. So, we are going to ignore locker #137 and head to the target's location. Move through the back side of the building where the target is located. Don't move at the front or else you'll get shot by agent 17. Once we're in the building the main target is not here in the first place. Instead, we are going to kill agent 17. Sneak behind its back and use fibre wire to eliminate agent 17. Get his clothes and sniper if you want then head to the sewers and exit via train.

Mission 20 - Redemption at Gontranno
The ranking system in this mission is disabled. In this mission, you can use any weapons that you want and wreak havoc. Be careful with snipers though, they can kill you in one hit. The objectives here are eliminate all enemies, eliminate Sergei and save father Vittorio.
