Notes:

• If the game bugs out and/or the items you are looking for cannot be located easily, you can conveniently click "reset this room" from the menu button at the top left corner of the screen.
  
  
• There are 2 or 3 possible locations that most items can spawn for each "room" (aka stage). For most items, their possible spawn locations are not dispersed enough to warrant separate screenshots or description. However, a select few items that are hard to find and have distant multiple spawn locations are all described accordingly in this guide.
  
  
• To unlock item and sight achievements, you must end hike and return to the bus.
  
  
• For the best friends achievement, you have to interact with NPCs for 2 more playthroughs, after you return items to them (lucky-four-leaf-clover-looking like trees(!?) indicate your progress with a NPC).

Litters

You are free to explore the entire map to collect litters however you want but there is certainly an easier and efficient way to farm them as fast as possible. Litters seem to exhaust for each area after you pick them up multiple times and thus it is safe to assume that there are only limited numbers of litters to pick up for each playthrough.

Best places to farm litters

You can get about 7 to 13 litters very fast for each playthrough by visiting only the first three areas.
Switch back and forth between the areas and also use "reset the room" from menu button from at the top left corner of the screen to spawn litters after you collect each of them.

Once litters are exhausted from the areas, you should end hike and return to bus and repeat the process. If this still doesn't seem to help, quit and launch the game again.





Protip:
For the third area, it is a good idea to enter here from the north area where the dog and lady are, in order to anchor the starting position for the third area to have a better view to see where litters spawn. Afterward, reset the area continuously and pick up a litter whenever it spawns.
