Mission 1 - The Island of Dr Moreau
Each mission will contain an interactive video walkthrough containing informative annotations, as well as an enemy guide to that mission.

The first mission objective is to investigate the island of Dr. Moreau, neutralize all enemy threats, rescue any and all Prisoners of War, and return with any vehicles you have successfully commandeered.

Though this will be your first mission, it is not to be underestimated. The Island of Dr. Moreau houses a formidable rebel force, as well as various forms of mutated life in the form of giant crabs, locusts, eels, jellyfish, and flying piranha.

There will be three possible branching paths in this mission. A dark warehouse that stores a large number of mutant crab, a piranha infested river that houses many POWs, or a shortcut under the island accessible by Slug Mariner near the beginning of the mission.

Mutant crab
Reasonably armored but a low threat at a distance, mutant crabs are the most common enemy on the island. Attacks with a ranged poisonous bubble that can be shot down, and a claw swipe at melee range.

Mutant locust
Attacks in large numbers and can be cleared easily with the right weaponry. If left unattended, they can be quick to swoop down for the kill.

Flying Piranha
Jumps out of the water and flies in a straight line towards its target. Piranha that dwell in the river drop ammo boxes when killed for extra firepower for the boss.

Jellyfish
Jellyfish are found throughout the Slug Mariner route and kill on contact. Though avoidable, they can also be destroyed with small arms fire, best suited for the Slug Mariner.

Large Mutant Crab
A larger and tougher crab, found in the Dark Warehouse route, and the Slug Mariner route. Attacks include two quick stabs with its claw, a giant overhead swinging motion, a charging stab attack which leaves the crab vulnerable, and a multiple poison bubble attack. Though it's not recommended taking on the large crab at close range, you should also be able to jump off of it's claw after it attacks for a higher foothold.

Enormous Moray
Mutant Moray Eels found in the Slug Mariner route. Impervious to any weapons, and a massive threat to anything that gets in it's way.
Mission 2 - The Zombie Outbreak

The second mission objectives are as follows: investigate the source of the zombie menace, neutralize and any enemy forces encountered, and rescue any and all prisoners of war.

STATUS EFFECT - Being a zombie

As a zombie, you will have extremely limited maneuverability, and you will be unable to wield any weapon powerups, however you will gain a powerful bomb attack in the form of a full screen blood barf! It's one of the most damaging attacks in the game while also eliminating zombie bile mid-air.

With new missions come new enemies, the zombie, the yeti, and various rebel forces.

Zombies
Great in numbers, and greater with every attack. Zombies attack by spewing infectious bile onto their foes which causes them to become zombies as well. Being hit by this bile causes the zombie status affliction. Different types of zombies also have different types of attacks and animation timing, so be aware! Above, they are sorted from fastest to slowest.

Tar Man Zombie
Extremely durable zombie with an ability to quickly throw a wide arc of zombie bile, and drop down from above if you are directly below it. Take extreme precaution when dealing with this unit for it's quick attack animations and wide attack range.

Yeti
A very tough monster that dwells within the ice cave. Its first attack is a slow moving frost projectile that seeks out its target and disables you temporarily, and a swinging bone attack that aims to kill you while you are disabled. Though this type of monster can be avoided by not taking the ice cave route, you'll also be skipping many POWs and treasures as well. Those who enter the cave, beware!

Rebel Forces
Your standard knifing and grenade lobbing rebel soldiers will be present in this level, as well as a few specialized units.

Attack chopper
Seen as groups of five that drift across the sky firing single shots, or as groups of two that follow the player and fire three shots in a line.

Eliminating the five choppers should be simple, as long as you focus the red leading chopper to eliminate the rest in a chain-reaction.

Minigun soldier
A slow unarmored soldier that fires 3 quick shots after a long windup. Nearly harmless when encountered alone, but can mean the end if he is left unattended for too long.

Basics and Weaponry

Your Loadout
Every life starts with ten grenades, a melee weapon, and a handgun which upgrades to different, more powerful weapons throughout each level. Some powerups create huge advantages, while others have more specialized uses. Melee attacks can be executed when an enemy comes within sufficient distance of your character, and takes highest priority when attacking.

Any hit to your character, fatal or otherwise will disarm you of your weapon powerup, and dying will reset your grenade count to ten. Each continue allows you to spawn on top of a Heavy Machine Gun powerup, but remember that your weapons are only as powerful as your skills in survival. To know one's enemies and surroundings is to know the way to true victory!

Heavy machine gun
An essential choice for any soldier. It has powerful crowd controlling abilities, And does significant damage to any enemy. It's also known to be quite accurate, with the use of the spreading diagonal fire function.

Rocket launcher
Though this weapon only allows two projectiles on screen at one time, these loosely guided rockets manage to deal great damage, and the large blast radius is known for one of the best forms of infantry crowd control.

Flame shot
A close range flamethrower that can deal catastrophic damage to structures and enemies alike, as each flame shot does repeating damage as it travels through the enemy. The flame shot is best suited for high hit-point structures and enemy groups, as usage on a single enemy is usually considered overkill.

Lasergun
The lasergun offers a extremely accurate piercing beam that causes high damage to structures and vehicles, and practically evaporates everything else. It's high accuracy is also known to be it's own downfall, as you may also become vulnerable to opponents attacking from a diagonal position.

Shotgun
Another close range weapon that does great damage in single shots. Each shot is known to destroy high groups of enemies with ease, but contains very limited ammunition.

Iron Lizard
Widely considered to be a somewhat gimmick weapon, The iron lizard is a rocket that propels itself along a surface, into the nearest enemy or obstruction and exploding upon contact. Though it's reach is generally limited to ground targets, It has extremely good potential to dispatch enemy infantry.

Super Grenade
An extremely fast and damaging projectile, usually meant for highly armored targets, though it's explosion effect is known to damage enemies directly above it.

Drop shot
Fires a ball that drops to the ground and bounces along the floor to explode on contact. Generally believed to be an extremely gimmick-type weapon, but also has its uses.

Enemy chaser
Extremely quick heatseeking rockets that excel in damage to light infantry, fortified structures, as well as enemy projectiles.

Powered-Up Weapons
As you progress through each stage, you may encounter a weapon that has it's identifying letter pulsing as shown. This weapon will have upgraded capabilities like attack power and range, so make good use of it!

Explosives
Adds 10 grenades to your person, or 10 extra ammunition to your vehicle's secondary fire.

Fire Bomb
A pick up that adds to your existing grenade count and modifies them into a throwable molotov cocktail, which is known to do very heavy infantry damage in a large area of effect, though heavily armored enemies are more resistant.

Armor piercer
An upgrade to the Metal Slug that allows it to fire armor piercing shells. Not only do they add to your cannon ammunition count by 10, AP shells are known to travel through multiple groups of infantry, and deal high damage to more armored structures.

Battery, and Chili Peppers
Available upgrades to the Elephant Slug sequence found in Mission 2. Both power ups are known to clear lower waves with ease, though they have limited ammunition.

Thundercloud
Available In Mission 2, this small cloud is known to hover over the nearest enemy and shoot down a damaging lightning bolt each time the pistol is fired.

Mobile satellite
A small rapid-fire satellite found in Mission 5. Suppresses enemies easily, and can temporarily block the larger Martian drones.

Gas
Replenishes one hit point to your current vehicle if it is damaged. Worth 1000 points otherwise.

Ammo
Adds extra ammunition to your current powerup weapon. Worth 1000 points if no weapon powerup is equipped.

Please finish this guide as it's currently the best and over all most detailed steam guide on the game! Me and all my friends who've recently picked up the game have learned a ton from this alone and we can't wait to learn even more about the rest of the missions!

I am pretty sure the infected rebel soldiers are classified as zombie except they do not spew infectious biles, rather deliver them through direct contact.

You forgot one enemy in Mission 2, there is a Zombie soldier which can kamikaze you and then you'll turn into a zombie.
