These are the only class who can select from a variation of high explosives, made to destroy vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Their fundamental weapon is either a Shotgun, or a Submachine gun.

⋆ Before you go berserker on me for not recommending your favorite weapon, sidearm and gadget, please do know that this is only my opinion and it will differ from yours.



⋆ I am an amateur and this was made just for sharing my knowledge and helping new players improve their gameplay. If you would like to make an recommendation or suggestion, do it in the comments like a gentleman.
Tips
⋆ As usual, the primary weapons of an Assault class are SMGs (sub-machine guns) that do wonders in close combat, but are not too effective for long ranges. So, if you want to benefit from this type of weapon, then stick to the towns and avoid open areas.



⋆ The Assault class is perfect for destroying vehicles and short range combat. It is equipped with anti-vehicle weaponry designed to destroy enemy armor and break the defensive line. Their main weapons consist of submachine guns that have a high rate of fire and low accuracy and shotguns which are extremely effective in a close combat.



⋆ Assault rifles are equipped with a bayonet. Use it at a short distance to conserve ammo and stay quiet.



⋆ Avoid long range combat. Assault rifles and shotguns are not effective at a distance higher than 25 meters. If you can, mark an enemy and try to approach him or hide so that he will have to get closer to you.

6. Automatico M1918

⋆ Three variants of the weapon are available: Factory, Trench and Storm.

⋆ The Automatico M1918 has an extremely high fire rate of 900 RPM. With this high fire rate, aiming down sights is only a nominal ability with very little actual use in long-range engagements due to the high recoil. Therefore, the weapon is most effective at extremely close quarters; within this distance, however, the Automatico M1918 is nearly unrivaled thanks to its very high rate of fire. The very quick reload time (on par with a pistol) allows one to reload between every kill, assuming they do not empty the magazine before reloading.

  • Factory variant has no attachments.

  • Trench Trench variant is equipped with an angled grip and has greatly increased hip-fire accuracy compared to the standard version.

  • Storm variant, like its Trench variant, is also equipped with a foregrip and has marginally increased accuracy and control over the Factory variant.

5. Annihilator

⋆ It has only 20 rounds in the magazine, which can be problematic in longer gunfights.

⋆ It offers better damage then Automatico M1918, at a cost of decreased accuracy. Overall, it's up to the player and his preference to choose between these two.

4. Hellriegel 1915


⠀⠀⠀""An Austrian heavy SMG equipped with a high-capacity drum magazine and water-cooled ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀barrel.""


⋆The Hellriegel comes equipped with 180 rounds of ammunition (60 rounds loaded in the magazine and 120 carried in reserve). Two variants are featured in multiplayer: Factory and Defensive.

  • Factory is unlocked upon reaching rank 10 with the Assault kit. The weapon's high magazine capacity of 60 rounds makes it extremely effective against enemies in close quarters compared to other submachine guns and LMGs. Despite this, its relatively moderate recoil makes it somewhat difficult to engage enemies at longer ranges unless controlled bursts are fired. It also overheats after 40 consecutive bullets.

  • Defensive variant features a Bipod, an Extended Magazine holding 120 rounds and a Lens Sight. Consequently, it features much higher recoil.

3. MP 18


"The MP 18 was one of the first practical submachine guns to see combat. Highly effective at its ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   role it was nicknamed the "grabenfeger" by German soldiers."


⋆ Its great hipfire accuracy provides the user with an advantage over non-assault players when gas is present or in close range, as the ability to hipfire the MP 18 accurately results in much more consistent kills than with other classes' weapons.

⋆ Its low rate of fire and low recoil makes it an easy weapon to handle out to medium ranges, but conversely, makes its time to kill rather slow. Three variants of the the MP 18 are featured in multiplayer: Trench, Optical and Experimental.

  • Trench variant offers improved accuracy when hip firing, making it well suited for clearing out
  • trenches.

  • Optical variant is equipped with a lens sight,
  • this SMG pattern offers improved aimed accuracy.

  • Experimental variant is equipped with a lens sight and a three round burst trigger group, this SMG pattern offers improved aimed accuracy and reduced recoil.


2. SMG 08/18


"The SMG 08/18 takes the mechanism of the MG08 machine gun, and scales it down to the ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀       9mm parabellum round. It feeds from a unique 80 round clip."


⋆ The SMG 08/18 is a weapon introduced in the Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar expansion for the Assault kit. It features an 80-round box magazine with a rate of fire of 770 RPM. The gun will overheat after firing around 30 consecutive rounds.

⋆ Two variants of the the SMG 08/18 are featured in multiplayer: Factory and Optical.

  • Factory is the standard version of the weapon.

  • Optical is equipped with a lens sight, offering improved aimed accuracy.

1. Ribeyrolles 1918


"Chambered for an intermediate cartridge, the select-fire Ribeyrolles can be considered the [sic] ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀     one the first assault rifles nowadays."


⋆ The Ribeyrolles 1918 (a.k.a. 1918 Carbine) is notable for being one of two Assault primaries with a bipod. Performance is similar to the MP 18, which has a larger magazine and better hipfire statistics.

⋆ Two variants of the the The Ribeyrolles 1918 are featured in multiplayer: Factory and Optical.

  • Factory variant is one of two variants of the weapon. It is unlocked upon obtaining 50 kills with the Automatico M1918 Factory
    and obtaining 20 headshots with the MP 18 Optical.

  • Optical variant was introduced in the Weapon Crate update on May 7 2018.[1] The variant is equipped with a lens sight.

3. Model 10-A


⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "A 12 gauge pump action shotgun, the Model 10-A is extremely lethal at close ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀range."


⋆ Three variants are featured in multiplayer: Factory, Hunter and Slug.

  • Factory variant is the base variant of the weapon, featuring no attachments aside from the standard ability to change the zoom level and whether or not to equip a bayonet. Like all Factory variants, this gun can regain accuracy quicker due to its lower weight.

  • Hunter variant is effectively an upgrade of the Factory version, as it has a special choke to tighten the spread of the buckshot. This allows the gun to be deadly at longer ranges while keeping the raw damage intact.

  • Slug variant uses slugs as its ammunition type, reducing raw power for a vast improvement in mid-ranged combat. Hip-fire accuracy is reduced for an increase in aimed accuracy. It is also equipped with a lens sight.

2. Model 1900


⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀""A side-by-side double barrel shotgun."


There are two variants of the Model 1900: Factory and Slug.

  • Factory variant is the "default" version of the model 1900. It has a damage profile identical to its sawed-off counterpart and the Model 10-A, making it the most powerful shotgun up close in terms of raw damage (excluding slug variants). When compared to the Model 10-A, its faster rate of fire allows for quicker follow up shots if the user fails to kill the enemy in one shot. Its major flaw is its low ammo capacity (obviously holding only two rounds). Despite having a quick empty reload, it's best to take cover if in the need to reload and pick engagements carefully.

  • Slug variant has a long range ammunition option for shotguns, firing a single projectile with vastly extended range compared to normal shotgun shells. Providing that the enemy player is at max health, Slugs will one shot kill to the torso and upper arms under 8 meters. After such range, will one shot kill only to the upper torso until 12 meters.


1. Sjögren Inertial

⋆ the Sjögren Inertial has lower maximum damage than both pump-action shotguns. In this respect, it can be seen as a compromise between the faster fire rate of the 12g Automatic and the higher damage of the pump-action shotguns. Unlike the 12g Auto, the Sjögren Inertial can kill on one shot at close ranges.

⋆ The Sjögren is available as a Factory or Slug variant.

3. C93


⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "The C93 was the first mass-produced semi-automatic pistol. The design of its toggle

⋆ Among the handguns available to all standard infantry, it has the fastest muzzle velocity, a high rate of fire, a slightly larger magazine, and generally favorable recoil. However, it is somewhat less powerful, and less accurate while moving.

⋆ Compared to other low-damage, high-rate-of-fire pistols, it maintains a muzzle velocity and accuracy advantage whilst stationary, but has a lower fire rate and longer reload time.

⋆ Like the P08 Pistol, the C93's toggle lock mechanism may be slightly disturbing while hip-fired, but manages to stay out of the way while aiming down sight due to recoil.

2. 1903 Harmless (Assault Class Exclusively)


"An American-made compact pistol. It was the first pistol ever with a grip safety. During WW1 over ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   24,000 were ordered by the Belgian army."


⋆ In multiplayer, the Modello 1915 fills the role of a low-damage, high rate-of-fire handgun for the Support kit. It is almost identical to the Frommer Stop, 1903 Hammerless and Taschenpistole M1914 in this regard.

⋆ However, it has the worst reload time for bullets left, 1.5s compared to the 1.25s of the Frommer Stop and Taschenpistole M1914, and the 1.16s of the 1903 Hammerless.

1. M1911


⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀     "A truly legendary handgun, the M1911 is widely considered
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   the greatest semi-automatic pistolever made."


⋆ The M1911 is the standard pistol version of the weapon. Available from the start, the M1911 is arguably one of the best all-kit handguns due to its high power and fast reloads. At close range, it is capable of killing an enemy in three shots.

⋆ The M1911 has an empty reload speed of 1.7 seconds, faster than those of other all-kit pistols like the P08 and Mle 1903, which have empty reload speeds of 2 seconds and 2.7 seconds respectively.

⋆ A downside to using the M1911 is that it has fairly high recoil when aiming down the sights, and it quickly becomes inaccurate if fired too fast. However, the gun's hipfire accuracy is good and can be useful up to medium distances.


Gadgets
Anti-Tank Grenade


⋆ Two kinds of Anti-Tank Grenade are featured in multiplayer: Anti-Tank Grenade and Light Anti-Tank Grenade.

Anti-Tank Grenade variant inflicts moderate damage to armor, and can also destroy walls. Two grenades are provided. They can immediately damage armor upon impact with a vehicle (including a Horse), but also have a time-delay fuze and can deliver significant splash damage. Anti-tank grenades also appear in singleplayer during certain infantry missions.









Light Anti-Tank Grenade variant is available to all infantry kits as a grenade option. The Cavalry class also carries one as part of its kit. As it fills the grenade slot, Assault kits can carry it along with the larger Anti-Tank Grenade gadget for additional anti-vehicle capability. It will detonate immediately when hitting a vehicle.


Anti-Tank Mine


⋆ The player gets a preview of the mine before deploying it. It is the most powerful (but least flexible) anti-vehicle option available to assault classes, heavily damaging vehicles that pass over.

⋆ Anti-tank mines can also be deployed by certain ground vehicles. A series of three mines is placed every few seconds from the vehicle's floor hatch.


AT Rocket Gun


⋆ It inflicts moderate damage against armor from considerable range, although it leaves the user somewhat vulnerable compared to other anti-tank weapons in the series. Due to its pedestal mount and slow muzzle velocity, it is ill-suited to attacking aircraft, but can nonetheless be aimed upward from certain surfaces.

⋆ However, it can be useful for attacking enemy infantry from a medium distance, where a direct hit anywhere to the body at any range results in a kill.

⋆ The user must aim carefully to strike armor at a solid angle. Glancing hits will ricochet with no harm done to the intended target, where other AT weapons might instead inflict minimum damage.

⋆ The shell fired from the AT Rocket Gun does create splash damage if it strikes a structure close to the operator by mistake. This is also true if the player is too close to a vehicle when destroyed.

AA Rocket Gun


⋆ It fires shells similar to those of the QF 1 AA, dealing moderate damage to passing airplanes. This variant features a taller tripod allowing for full elevation of the weapon, though it still requires the user to plant the gadget on a suitable surface.

⋆ The weapon is significantly less effective against ground targets when compared to the AT Rocket gun. In addition to dealing next to no damage to tanks and other vehicles, the projectile cannot kill outright an enemy infantry player with a single hit - it deals a maximum 40 damage when directly impacting the body, or 90 damage when impacting the head, with severe damage drop off within the small blast range. The shells also have reduced effectiveness when using them to destroy cover.

⋆ Players must choose between the anti-tank and anti-aircraft versions of the Rocket Gun as they cannot be equipped together.

Dynamite


⋆ The Assault kit can place up to three packs of dynamite at a time.

⋆ As such it makes it much harder to attack enemy vehicles and thereby requires players to use it wisely. Its low damage compared to other Assault gadgets also makes it difficult or impossible to destroy a vehicle in one pass.

⋆ I strongly encourage you to try every weapon for yourself. Not only will you enjoy the variety of weapons that is presented, but also have fun while doing so. Finally, by experimenting with different weapons you will find out for yourself the most effective weapon and gadgets that suits your playstyle and ultimately the loadout that will become your favorite.

Please note that for the Sjorgen shotgun only the factory variant is good, so new players don't make the mistake of picking the horrible slug variant.
