Before you begin
Before you can start doing anything, make sure you have the following on your computer:
  • A copy of Jedi Outcast
  • A copy of Jedi Academy
  • An archive tool of some sort (7zip works best)
Moving the files
Right click on the game in your steam library, click properties, click the local files tab, and click the browse local files button.

In your file explorer, go to the GameData folder, then the base folder, right click on assets0.pk3, and unzip it with your archive tool (for 7zip, you can select the "open archive" option).

Inside assets0.pk3, you want to open up the maps folder and copy both pit.bsp and pit.nav and move them to a new folder. It doesn't matter where you move the copies to, just so long as they're in your regular file explorer, and no longer in the .pk3.

You're going to do the same thing for some texture folders. Go back to assets0.pk3, go to the textures folder and copy the following folders, you'll put them in the same place where you put the pit files:
  • tests
  • bespin
  • impdetention
  • impgarrison
Once you're done, close all of the Jedi Outcast windows. Open up your Jedi Academy folder (using the same process you used to open the Jedi Outcast folder), go to the GameData folder, the base folder, and open up assets0.pk3.

Copy the pit.bsp and pit.nav files into the maps folder inside assets0.pk3. Next, open up the assets1.pk3 folder and move all of your copied texture folders (bespin, impgarrison, etc.) into the textures folder here.

You're done! Close all of the Jedi Academy windows and start the game.
Playing the map
To play the Pit map ingame, all you have to do is open your console (shift ~), and type in devmapall pit.

If you followed all of the steps correctly, your game should look something like this:

Do note, if any of the textures are missing, the console will tell you in yellow warning text. All you have to do is follow the path that it tells you is missing (for example, impgarrison/.., tests/..) and copy that folder into your textures folder in assets1.pk3.

Also, this same procedure can be used to move any of the other maps from Jedi Outcast into Jedi Academy, just move the map files over and follow the console's warning messages to figure out what textures need to be moved over (or just move over all of the textures from Jedi Outcast and don't worry about it).

Have fun!
