VR: lay on the floor and push the tape recorder with your head. Just hold it to keep it in line. Does take you about 2 minutes. You can push it up any slope.
Non-VR: use throw. Stand behind the tape recorder, grab it at the nearest spot, drag it up and hold throw (right mouse). The best is to resease throw the moment it is charged completeley and the tape recorder starts moving or flips over, this way yo ugive it a major thrust (2-4 tape recorder lengths). Rince and repeat. You can kick it this way up of any slope as well.
What a silly achievement. Nevertheless, listening to the data sea is at least kinda relaxing.
Edit:
Also protip on the Walkman achievement, you can wiggle the tape recorder around by bringing it closer/further (Q/E) from you to get it upright (i.e. tape reels not on the ground), then once you have that done, toss it (hold right click then release with some movement of mouse) to get it moving more quickly. You'll want to grab the recorder by the corners as you try to toss it for best effect here, and it's still really finicky, but I found it to be somewhat faster.
