A Final Update
Due to a change (or recent enforcement) of Steam Guides policy, I am no longer able to offer links in this guide to higher resolution versions of my maps — meaning no more Google Drive or Ko-Fi page links.

The maps for Vigil: the Longest Night are barely readable when compressed to under 2MB each, which is the max upload size for individual image files in Steam Guides.

I don't have the time to figure something out for them all, so I'm shuttering this guide for good.

All of the maps are still available on my website, as is the decorations guide and checklist — complete with the image that kept disappearing.

Thank you for your support, comments, and awards for this guide. I appreciate ya!

Just saw your update here. That really sucks about the new guidelines, but at least I can still see them from your website directly. I just wana say, your maps have been super helpful to me for 100%-ing this game and many others. I dunno if you'll see this since the guide's basically a shell now, but I'm grateful for all your hard work. Thank you Demajen!

Hello creator! Tell me please, how did you open the whole map so "cleanly"? I can't reach some places to remove the "fog" hiding the edges of the map...

@Kyle P You'll need Air Dash first. climb down the ladder until you're outside the tree and then air dash to the right until you're at about the edge of the tree's trunk. there's 3 branches there you can land on that are cleverly hidden by the foliage. The top two are within reach of each other so you can jump between them, but you'll need to drop down to the third.

How do you get the 3 items to the right of the giant tree?

@Arcadian - I don't even know how to tell what version of the game I'm on anymore. ~_~

If you've right-clicked the game in Steam, selected properties > betas > open_beta from the drop down then you're on the version of the game that the v3 maps are designed for. If you're not, you need the v2.0 maps which are down at the bottom of the guide. I vaguely recall there being two shell rings in the game so it may be the one you're talking about has been removed. I'll keep an eye out for it when the final big DLC is released in August.

I don't know if I'm on beta or something else. All I know is I have v3.1 of the game.

@Arcadian - The maps are based on initial testing of the beta branch. It’s possible the devs have updated locations of things more since then but since it takes about 6 hours to go through everything I can’t update the map for every single change they make every time. Waiting for the DLC launch to do another pass.

Do make sure you’re on the beta branch though. If you’re just looking at the base game, a chunk of this won’t be accurate at the moment. Sorry.
