Guide to hats!

This guide will show you the locations of the collectible hats in Rad Rocket. Spoilers a-hat!

Introduction

Hi! Welcome to this guide for Rad Rocket! In this guide, I'll walk you through the locations of (almost) every hat in the game so you can customize your character to your hat's heart's content!

Laboratory

First hat: The paper bag
This hat is very straightforward. After spawning, walk to the right and the hat will be visible on top of the shed with smoke coming out of it.




Second hat: The doctor's head mirror
A little bit more difficult but still fairly straightforward. Jump onto the highest of two supports on the left, just before the obstacles made of cables. The doctor's head mirror is located to your left, close to the wall.

Caves

Good job, you made it out of the laboratory! There are a couple of hats to be found in the caves, starting with:


Hat 3: The cowboy hat
This hat is actually hidden pretty well, I personally found this one on accident. There are multiple ways to go about ending up at the spot the hat is at, but I've found the easiest one is to launch yourself from this rock:



You'll then end up on the opposite side of the laboratory gate. Here you'll find a deactivated robot wearing a cowboy hat guarding a chest. Simply walk over to the robot to steal its hat!





Hat 4: The batting helmet with face guard
The blue batting helmet can be seen after jumping up the big protruding rocks. It's on one of the highest rocks to the right, on the opposite side of where you'll need to go. Simply launch yourself towards it to land on the rock it's on.

Mines

The mines can be a big pain at times, but they're pretty doable once you get the hang of certain techniques (e.g. jumping on diagonal surfaces). Luckily, the hats found here are often in plain sight and/or easily accessible.


Hat 5: The batting helmet without face guard
The white batting helmet is not easy to miss but it is possible. After jumping up the diagonal slabs of rock, you'll end up on a horizontal reprieve from which you can either launch yourself to another diagonal surface, or walk to the right to see this hat.



Jumping over to it could cause you to fall down to the lab again, so it's advisable to press >TAB< to create a shortcut back in case you fail.





Hat 6: The army helmet
Finding this hat requires you to explore the dead end of the mine. Once you reach this area:



Ignore the arrow and keep launching yourself up and to the right, until you'll reach this point:


You have now reached the dead end of the mine. If you didn't have this achievement yet, it will pop about now, congratulations! To find the hat, we'll keep going to the right and down. The hat is located near the end of the path, close to an abyss, so don't get too enthusiastic about launching yourself here!




Hat 7: The pirate hat
My favourite hat by far, the pirate hat is fairly tricky to get. When you get here:

Create a teleport by using >TAB<, then wall-jump straight up until you see the hat floating in mid-air.

Sewers

We're at the sewers now! Only one hat to be found here and luckily, it's not that difficult to find. Having said that:



Hat 8: The beanie
This hat can be seen when you reach this point:



Nothing special here, just make the few jumps up, go left and under the arches, drop down from the next ledge you encounter, then go right a bit.

Streets

You made the double doublejump and find yourself on a construction site! There are two hats in this area, which are:


Hat 9: The fedora
Go all the way to the right until you reach a huge red crane. Jump up via the hanging obstacles, then launch yourself onto the crane drivers' cabin to collect this hat.

Hat 10: Santa's hat
When clambering up the skyscraper at the far left side of this map, you'll eventually encounter this arrow:



Instead of obeying it and taking the horizontal jump, keep on walljumping up the skyscraper until you find yourself on its roof. Santa's hat will be there too!

Space

Luckily for us, space is a lot more forgiving than the rest of the game, due to the lower gravity. There are two hats here, being:



Hat 11: The wide brimmed hat
This elegant hat is pretty well hidden! When entering space, go up and very slightly left until you see a tube of some sorts:


From there, go into the tube and walk the length of it until you get the notification that you have found a hat!

Hat 12: The headphones
This hat is camouflaged pretty well, it blends right in with the colours of the space station!



When you reach the space station, you'll land on its left side. Simply jump over the finish and go to the right and the headphones will be there for you to grab.
