Spooky's Dollhouse Guide.
By Luna
This is a guide for the newly released Spooky's Dollhouse DLC. This won't contain any lore spoilers, however it will contain spoilers for the play-through and I only recommend looking at this guide if you are really stuck, or just want to experience the lore without having to deal with puzzles and all that.
With that out of the way, let's begin.

Part 1 - The House.
As you enter the dollhouse you'll notice text on your screen. There are only two ways to heal in this DLC - Dying and loading a save, or using the doll you get later. I failed to mention this when first making this guide, as that info wasn't known to me. Still, this still works as a step by step guide.

This DLC has exactly one save point from what I've seen and that's the music box in the first room you enter. You can interact with it by pressing E and it looks like this :

The next thing I'll bring your attention towards is the map - You'll find it in the room connected (not separated by a door) to the room you're in. This will allow you to view a map of most of the locations in the DLC by looking down and pressing E. Fairly handy.

Now, another thing in that room is the doll. The doll will allow you to interact with white pedestals found throughout the game, as well as allow you to heal, so I recommend taking it basically throughout the entire play through - if you use it to heal, it will lose potency. It will also lose all of it's potency during a scripted event later on. Since I admittedly didn't know you could heal using it, this guide assumes that you don't use it to heal.

For now, the house is entirely safe. You can explore it - although you only have access to about 1/3rd of it. The key to unlock the next 1/3rd of the house can be found in the Piano Room - You'll have to interact with the piano to find it's out of tune, and then go up behind it to collect the key. From this point on, specimen (Though, extremely slow ones) can spawn. The axe can knock them back, and they die in about 5 hits.

Now you can open this door. Fair warning, the next few rooms contain quite a few of the aforementioned dolls. They're fairly easy to avoid, but there is at least 2 in 90% of the rooms in that.

Next, try to find this room - place the doll on the pedestal. It's a fairly straightforward room, just go straight and pick up the key - and have fun. Picking up the key triggers possibly one of the more aggressive specimen in the game - he's fairly easy to avoid, you can sprint past him, his hitbox is way smaller than it seems but he can be a pain to deal with. It's likely you'll get hit once or twice by him.

The key you just obtained is used for a clock face. The clock is located in one of the rooms accessible to you from the start. This note contains the answer for the puzzle - Just set the time on the clock to the time on the note - okay fine, short hand on V, long hand on IX, although the short hand will be almost at VI, as the long hand is on IX, and that's just how clocks work.

Now, once you've collected the bolt cutters you can unlock this door leading to the garden. You'll probably notice the door on the left is unlocked, while the one on the right isn't.I also wouldn't recommend keeping the doll in that garden for long. I recommend placing the doll down on the first pedestal you see.carrying it around with you isn't the greatest idea, because of a particular clown.

You're going to want to find a few doll hands in a room. Should be on one of the right-wing rooms.

Next, grab the doll again, and find this room. Put her on the pedestal, and go inside. There should be a furnace - Put the doll hands in it, close it, turn it on, turn it off, open it and take the key. You can now open the other door in the garden, congrats! And that brings me to section 2.
Part 2 - GL Labs
Welcome to GL Labs!
This is essentially the shortest portion of the game and, also, in my opinion, the safest.
Start off by unlocking this door.
You can explore, find notes, play an arcade game, etc. You don't have an access card yet though, so some areas are inaccessible. To find one, you'll head over to this door and place the doll on the pedestal.

So, you've fallen through the floor. Welcome to the underground section of GL Labs. This place is safe for now, by the way. You can safely explore it, and it will remain safe unless you're specifically going for the good ending. If you are doing that, keep track of the where the black candles are, you can't pick them up just yet.

You need to collect pinwheel pieces to progress through the area. The first one is found on this doll, the second by moving this hatch, and the third is found by hitting this painting with the axe you have. After you've collected all 3, insert it into the locked door, get the access card, and get out of there.

Once you've returned to the main GL Labs area, you'll probably find the doll outside, with 100% lost potency. You're going to need to go to the tea room, located near where the entrance to the basement is. Just put the doll on the pedestal, sit down and wait a bit for the red bar on the table to fill up. Take this moment to cool down, and ignore the fact that annoying specimen is right outside waiting for you to come out

Now, you can return to the GL Labs, activate this machine and finish the game! You'll go through some sort of sequence, and then you'll be able to get to the escape pod and finish this DLC, right?
Well, If you did happen to do that, congrats, you have managed to get the bad ending! The next section will tell you how to avoid that.
You screwed up.Quite majorly, as well.
Part 3 - The Good Ending

Let's start off by entering this room. Put the doll on the pedestal - You don't need it for anything after this. Enter the room. You'll see a ritual circle with 3 black candles missing, and a computer telling you that there's ritual materials missing.

Remember how I told you to remember when the black candles were, in that basement area? You're going to have to go back there, and find the candles. The monster in that area is hostile now, though. You have to either keep it in the corner of your screen, or not look at it, otherwise it will move towards you. Find the three candles, and get out of there as soon as possible
If you really want the candle areas they are (In no particular order) - In the room you first fell, in the room you found the access card and in the room with cages, where the doll originally was.

After you have done that, you can now place the candles down in the ritual room - when you go up to the computer, it will inform you that any further returns will result in a system collapse - just press E (or whatever key you have 'use' bound to) and totally ignore that, and then it will ask you to select one of the 3 specimens from the original game - namely specimens 6, 8 and 11. You can choose any one of them, and it's essentially down for preference - after you've done that go through the portal-thing in the room. However, I will give you a few hints about them. (Also, keep in mind if you're planning to play this through multiple times - With the exception of the last room for a specimen, all of the hallway layouts are the same, though differently textured. This is only really relevant for 11, though.)

Specimen 6 Is all about looking behind you while you progress through the rooms. Hitting him with the axe does nothing but waste stamina in this DLC. Arguably the easiest of the bunch.

Specimen 8 is about conserving stamina, actually. You move faster than it moving normally, however what this section does is put deer in your way - this is essentially the only change from the original - which can hurt and chase you as well! A lot of the time, they will block your path, sometimes two at a time. Always keep enough stamina to kill two of them with an axe.

The 100% beef mcdonalds demon known as specimen 11 requires you to be either intuitive, or be familiar with the room layouts beforehand as, like in the original, he will make doors invisible sometimes. He also moves at about the same speed as your walking speed so. Also, keep in mind, if you choose him, you should be certain that you're at full health, because his last phase requires you to be hit a bunch unless you're an absolute god.

After you've dealt with the chase, you'll enter this room. Go into the middle, and once the specimen goes to your location, they'll get sucked into the portal never to return again, and you'll get put back into the ritual room, never to encounter them again.

Now, you can finally put the doll in the machine, go through the end sequence, and enjoy the good ending. You deserve it.

Here's a small screenshot of what happens in the good end - It's not much though, I really recommend you play it through yourself.
A Softlock and an Afterword.
-You can essentially softlock the game by doing the ritual room, and then getting onto the escape pod. As far as I can tell, it goes on forever (see timer)

Making this guide has been a pleasure, and I hope it helped at least one person. Thank you for reading, and thank the devs for making such an amazing game. Definitely one of my all time favourites.

Is there anything I have to do after I start the ritual? I put the doll outside, placed all the candles and summoned the spirit but I can't go through the Hellgate.

I found a bug on how its way easier to deal with the hell gate. If you start KIRA go the screen where you can choose the specimen, then exit the screen, leave the room take the doll, enter the room and then choose a specimen. That way you can take the doll during that chase and heal yourself

Yeah I do feel like it could have used a bit more. I think there should have at least been an original final enemy instead of reusing an already existing enemy from the main game.

I still enjoyed dollhouse of course, just wanted to give out my opinion

Did you place the candles down?
Did you place the doll in front of the room?

I have to be honest, the good ending wasn't all that well made...

It felt very empty. Like I expected... more from it. Maybe talking to Spooky, or something...

But, no. It was just like... "Well you did it, now here's the credits."

I don't know how to properly describe the feeling it left within me. I don't like it...
