Drake Hollow Achievement guide, Collectible locations/hints, gameplay tips

The guide gives some answers you might have about game mechanics, full information and explanation of all achievements and possible note locations. World and note locations randomly generated for every single campaign but there are some patterns, most of the notes are at the same locations or following same patterns so together with the hints of this guide and with the complete note list you should be able to get all.

Some answer for questions you would ask
How can I repair buildings?

You need to enter inspect mode with X and then interact with the buildings.

How can I connect water/electricity to a building?

You need to enter inspect mode with X and then interact with the building to get the cable and then connect that cable to the building which you want to add to the network.

How can I repair a weapon?

Unfortunatly, it is not possible in the game right now. HOWEVER, if you drop the weapon at your camp, a Drake will pick it up and place it in the depot and in the process the weapon gets fully repaired.

How can I get a weapon with better quality?

Drops based on the level of your camp. For example: On level 6 you will get start blue quality weapons. However monsters gets stronger as you progress on the chapters, so don't avoid leveling your Drakes and camp. Level 8-9 unlock purple quality, 10+ orange quality weapons.

How can I get Drakes with different buffs?

Every time you rescue a Drake one will show up. It is not preset, so if you save, rescue him/her and you load your game and you save that Drake again it will be different (or same, but it is RNG) so you can just load until you get the Drake with the passive buff you want to claim.

My Drakes consuming too much food, water and entertainment, I can't build anything else, help!

If you upgrade a Drake to retirement age that Drake will turn to stone on the linked island next to your base. The Drake still adds to camp experience, but no longer taking bed, no longer consuming food, water or entertainment. Once you retired (upgraded to maximum level) a few Drakes you will have a lot of free points for defensive buildings.
Achievement influenced by your complete walkthrough
Ignored the Call
Ignore the call for help, and return to your normal life.

At the start of the game don't enter the "gate" once talked with the bird, just turn back and run back. Game over, but this unlock the achievement.

Unbreakable
Complete a full playthrough of the campaign without dying.

As there is manual saves existing you can just load your previous one if you dieing and get this achievement upon completing the game. Just don't forget to reload your game every time you died.

Lore Hobbist
Find 10 notes

Lore Librarian
Find 20 notes.

Lore Doctor
Find all notes.

Map randomized and note could be on different locations, but most of them should be at same location like on the screenshoots added to the guide. Note informations on the map might be bugged for everyone. Once i found 2 notes on an island while map mentioned only one, many time i found one less note on islands than the amount was shown to me on map. I also encountered weird bug errors like this:

According to the developer there should be 40 notes what count for the achievement.

You can find the note you found in the log, and believe or not, while it is hard to understand for some, the name of the notes same for everyone:-) Do not progress to the next world without finding all, you can't return to there.

Defeat a Terminer in combat

Unmissable as you will get to this point sooner or later when progressing on main quests

Midsummer
Travel to Chapter 2: The Summer

All Hallows' Eve
Travel to Chapter 3: The Fall.

Winter Solstice
Travel to Chapter 4: The Winter.

Advanced Civilization
Attain Camp Level 10.

Just upgrade your Drakes until your camp is level 10. Part of the main quest so it is a unmissable storyline achievement.

In Contempt
Defeat the Lord of the Terminer, magistrate of the Court.

Homeward
Return home after completing your quest.

Theoretically Unmissables

Skyway architect
Build 100 waypoints

You will unlock this achievement easily around halfway to the end. If not just place a waypoint, dismantle, and place it again until earned.

City Planner
Build 100 Improvements.

Build 100 improvements in your base, don't need to be done in a single campaign, but it is very unlikely that you will get to the end of the campaign without earning this.

Grindster
Railgrind for 50 km.

The light speedway for "fast travel" between waypoints is the rail. It is very unlikely you will finish a single complete campaign without completing it and there is a global character value for this, so you dont even need to do it on a single playthrough.

Titan of Industry
Exceed 40 production a day in Entertainment, Food, and Water.

Quests will ask you higher and higher camp level as you progress through chapters. Camp level earned by having Drakes and you will get to a point when you need to produce enough resources for this achievement just by keeping alive the Drakes.
Achievements related to Drakes and their buffs
Retirement Age
Advance a Drake to retirement.

Keep upgrading a Drake. The next rank after Elder is retirement. The Drake will turn to stone, he will still contribute the exp to the camp level exp but no longer consuming resources. You can still pick up the buff of the Drake but interacting with the stoned Drake.

Savior
Find and rescue 100 Drakes.

Just rescue 100 Drakes. Once you retired 2 Drakes you can save 4 new one right next to your camp. Save your game, save them, reload your games and you can easily get to 100. Please keep in mind if you have new saveable Drakes there they will vanish if you move to a new chapter.

Collect 'em All
Rescue one Drake of every type.

I have no clue how to unlock this. It unlocked to me when my camp reached level 12 while i was saving a Drake but i seen that Drake with that ability in past. It is also clear, that it is not unlocked while having all different Drakes with all different buffs at the same time, as i not had all when unlocked this achievement so the only thing i can think about that it somehow unlocked by the lvl 12 camp level. Please share in comments when it was unlocked so could have more information.

Electrician
Hit 5 enemies with a single electric melee attack.

First of all you need a drake which add electrical damage to your attack. Once you have one, claim that buff and damage 5 enemies with one attack. It is doable at an ambush easily. If you have difficulties to find the required Drake, then just find a Drake need to be saved, save your game and keep reloading until you get the required Drake.

Candyman
Scare 100 enemies with Bees.

One of the Drake have a "beekeeper" ability. If you have such a Drake and you claim his/her buff, then your melee weapons make enemies feared. Hit 100 enemies with melee weapon while this buff is active for this achievement.

Pyro
Light 100 enemies on fire.

One of obtainable Drake has a Blazing buff. If claimed, you attacks do fire dmg. Attack 100 enemies with a melee weapon while this buff is claimed to unlock the achievement.

Ride the Lightning
Hit an enemy with an electrified Electric Guitar.

One of the Drake has a buff which adds electrical damage to melee attacks. Attack an enemy with a guitar while you claimed that buff.
Missable achievements
Fisticuffs
Kill an enemy using only your fists.

Suggested to do this as soon as possible as your fists doing only 1-2 dmg so you want to do this at the beginning on a low level monster.

Rebound
Kill a Fang with its own projectile

Houndlike enemies and they usually attack you with a ranged projectile. With a timed attack using your melee weapon you can send it back. If it kills the Fang then achievement unlocks.

Logistican
Send over 1000 materials to camp.

You need to build up a waypoint channel for easier traveling. There are some VANs on many islands. Connecting these to your waypoint “speedway” will loot up the materials from the VAN. Achievement unlocks once 1000 collected from these cars.

Supply Chain
Connect one of each type of supply truck to camp

Like logistican, but instead of amount, you need to connect eahy type of resource VAN to your camp at least once.

Capitalist
Trade 500 shiny objects with Magpie

You actually need to sell items for the value of 500 currency

I’m flying!
Fall continuously for 3 seconds

Go to the top of a high point, I went to the top of a lighthouse. You will need a levitation charm to get up to there. Then place a levitation charm up there too. Change the angle, save and launch yourself. It should award the achievement.

Green Thumb
Heal a wounded drake

If a drake is losing health then interact with him/her and select the healing option. They go underground when a raid starts so an easy way to get this achievement is if you interact with one when the raid starts and stop the interaction once the drake is damaged. After the raid now you can help up the damaged drake.

Groundskeeper
Clear all corruption vines and nests on a single island

Clear all the vines on an island. You will get this achievement easily while playing the game.

Weepy Eekins
Send Weepy Eeeking to cry in the dirt

During Spring season there is an island with a cave and there is a shadow, visible on the picture. Keep talking with him/her until he/she depops, which unlocks the achievement.


Artful Dodger
Defeat all enemies in an ambush while taking no damage

At the Spring-bank location there is one ambush location. Once the enemies pop, just jump back to the wooden “bridge”, enemies not going to jump up to there and you can finish them off with your ranged weapon. Start with the ranged enemy if there is any around for you. Save before so you can reload in case you fail with it.


Pathfinder
Discover every islands in a biome

Just go to every location/island on a biome (whole map during one season)

Weed Whacker
Clear all corruption vines and nests in an entire biome.

Same as the Groundskeeper achievement, but this time you need to kill all vines on every single island. You can move to next chapter before visiting all islands so this is missable.

Untouchable
Defeat a raid at camp level 7 or higher without any Improvements taking damage.

Build decoys around your camp in a circle and beat the raid. I done about 12 and was enough to kill all incoming monsters while most of the decoy was still alive. You can leave the decoys there for future raids as you want to finish Trickster achievement too.

Trickster
Fool 50 enemies with Decoys.

Use decoys so enemies will attack them instead of you. Decoys also useful to get Untouchable achievement.

Mousetrap
Kill an enemy with a defensive Improvement.

Build a defensive structure and let it kill one enemy. Hint: They have very low health points, make sure you protect it with some fences.

Minesweeper
Hit 5 enemies with a Proximity Mine.

Place the mine to an ambush position and you will get this achievement. Save before so you can repeat and adjust the position of the mine where at least 5+ monsters will show up. The ground floor of the factory ambush location is where i done this.

Curio Shop
Craft one of each type of Curio.

Just craft each consumable item at the Curio workshop at least once.

Automagical Defense
Defeat a raid using only defensive Improvements.

Once you retired 1 or 2 Drakes you will have enough extra building points you can use for defensive buildings instead of using all on entertainment, food and water. Just build some solar panels and tesla towers, in a circle around your camp and from that point your camp is defended automatically and you dont need to return to handle the defense by yourself. Please don't forget to build walls too, so enemies can't destroy your tesla coils. Walls can resist a lot of damage, tesla coils can't.

Man in Motion
Clear 10 corruption vines with a single use of St. Elmo's Fire.

St. Elmo's Fire is a consumable item which could be crafted. It kills a vine and when there is another one within range then it jump to the next one. To be able to kill 10 with this item you need an island with a lot of vines, preferably a small island. The quest island where you need to find a note during summer is a perfect location for this achievement if you manage to get all crafting material for this item as one of the material quite rare and 3 required. Don't forget to save your game before using the item in case you kill less than 10.

Ground Pounder
Hit 5 enemies with a single ground pound attack.

Ground pound attack: Jump and use the attack in the air. This achievement doable easily at an ambush location, Just place a decoy and execute the attack once 5 enemies hitting the decoy.

Trapper
Use Raid Bait to draw out 100 enemies.

Raid Bait is a consumable, craftable item. If you use it there will be an extra raid. About 9-10 required for the achievement, but it not required to be done in a single playthrough. You can even use one and once the raid beaten just reload and repeat until achievement earned.

Sharpshooter
Kill an enemy over 100 meters away using an arrow.

This is the hardest achievement. About 100 meters is the visiblity range so you need to kill one enemy from the max visiblity range and enemies constantly moving.

Batter Up
Using only the Aluminum Slugger, defeat an ambush on a baseball diamond.

One of the island has a baseball playground. There is always an ambush there. Beat that ambush while damaging enemies only with the aluminum Slugger. I seen baseball playground only during the Spring chapter. If you not found the required melee weapon yet, then you can wait for 2 raids at your camps, dont open the lootchest of the first raid. Save your game and open/reload until you get the required weapon. It is not a problem if you triggered the ambush there already. It will happen again once a few days passed.

Ghostride the Light
Railgrind continuously for 10 km as a ghost.

Do a circular waypoint travel, save your game, then die, jump on the speedway and leave your game active. You can alt+tab if you playing with borderless fullscreen mode. Make sure you leave it running for a good time, 20-30mins without pushing W for faster traveling as achievement unlocks only if you had 10km AND you left the speedway. Once done don't forget to load your save game before your death so you can still go for the nodeath full run achievement.
Multiplayer achievements
Paramedic
Revive a fellow player.

You need one player for this, Just revive your coop partner.

Team Player
Protect 3 other players with a single Aether Ward.

This could be a hard achievement as you need to find 3 other players for it. Once you have a team of 4 it is quite easy tho.

During winter i had 2 islands with extra notes, according to the map, so this area was quite bugged too. All the note display bugs (on first day there were even invisible notes, that was at least fixed fast) i took a few days break from the game and before uninstalling it i gave a last chance to check those islands. Luckily i found the last one there i still needed, but that still leave one island with possible note amount display bug, so don't go too crazy if you can't find a note there, try other islands first.

@andrsn the "Full yet hungered" note, was on Kvur Island during the fall time in my game. It is randomized but maybe you get lucky and find it there as well

@csontzuzo I know that they're randomised, but some of my notes appeared in a few of the locations shown in the guide for fall, so I thought it might be worth trying that island again. Been running around the map for a couple of hours trying to get the last one and it's getting a little tedious now.

Thanks for the guide though! Appreciate having a checklist for which notes are available in each region.

@andrsn: as mentioned in the guide, note locations randomized, and i dont remember that islands had names, the pictures just for guidance because of randomization.

Fall notes: "Island without any building"

Anyone know the name of the island? I'm missing one note in this region, Full, Yet Hungered.

Thanks for mentioning the "bug" that the game doesn't necessarily show the right amount of notes present on an island.

Yep, the locations are in every season random, but not the number of notices. The map shows the right locations in every season expect summer for me. Every time this "A mission" notice is missing. Is there a hidden place on the summer map, or a special mission, i have no more ideas?

@BG-SVW-Bremen: those note locations are possible locations, there are some kind of randomization unfortunatly.

Hi, great guide, great work! I have a problem with the notices in summer. You say there are 9 notices and on the map are only 8. The notice you called "A mission" i cant find. Thought i will get it on the last mission in summer, but nope. I left summer with only 8 notices, got all in autumn and winter and no achievement. This mysterious 1 summer notice is missing all the time. Please help. Thx!
