Add Your Video to the Program
Use the USB cable to connect the GoPro camera to your computer and transfer the video files to your hard drive. Open Movavi Video Editor, choose Create project in full feature mode and then click Add Media Files to upload the files you want to edit. The chosen videos will be added to the Timeline automatically.
Get Rid of Unneeded Parts of the Video
Play the added videos in the Preview Window on the right and decide if there are any video segments you don’t want to appear in your movie. If everything is OK and no frames need to be removed, just move on to the next step.
If you want to delete some parts of the footage, review the video and locate the best place to start cutting. Once you’ve found it, pause the video and click the Split button to split the video in two. To remove the video segment, click it and use the Delete button above the timeline or just hit Delete on your keyboard.

If you want to remove a segment from the middle of your video, first cut it in two at the beginning of the section you want to remove, then again at the end of that section, and delete the isolated section from your video.
Insert Transition Between Video Segments
If you have several video segments on the timeline, you can add animated transitions between them. Go to the Transitions tab, shown in the screen image. Click the icons to see the transitions preview in the window on the right. Choose the ones you like and drag-and-drop them between the video segments on the timeline.

Add the Slow Motion Effect
With our GoPro editing software you can apply the popular slow motion effect to any part of your video. Select a video segment on the Timeline and click the Clip Properties icon. Then move the Speed slider to the left to reduce the speed of your clip. If you want to slow down a certain part of the clip, you need to isolate this part first using the Split tool. Do it as described in the step 3 of this tutorial, then click the isolated fragment and apply the slo-mo effect as written above.

Add Background Music
Now it’s time to spice up your GoPro video with some atmospheric music. Click Add Media Files and choose the audio file you want to use. If your movie is longer than the music, just duplicate the audio file and place both on the same track. Alternatively, you can click Add Media Files again and choose a different audio file. If the music is longer than your movie, just drag the right edge of the audio to the left along the timeline until you reach the end of your video.

If you don’t need the original audio track in your GoPro video, click on it once and hit Delete on your keyboard. You can also reduce the volume – just double-click the audio on the timeline and move the Volume slider to the desired position.

Save Your Video
Click Export and select the required option from the tabs in the left part of the pop-up window. The GoPro movie maker app lets you choose any popular output format. Choose the format or preset that fits your needs best and click Start.
