Introduction
This guide should give a clear overview of what is required to earn all of the achievements in Titan Attacks. The achievements in this game aren't actually that hard to get. However, I will also provide a few general gameplay tips that may help you with completing the game.
General tips
  • There are five worlds, each with 20 waves of enemies and an alien mothership as a boss. There are also challenge levels after every seven waves (a total of 14) that give you a chance to earn extra rewards. The waves are very short and usually take only about 10-20 seconds to complete, even on later worlds.
  • Earning perfect scores in challenge levels can provide extremely useful rewards, including extra shields, smartbombs, a $1000 cash bonus or even a free weapon upgrade.
  • Your movement speed is tied to your mouse and is therefore essentially limitless. Use this to your advantage to dodge enemy shots and explosions.
  • It's important to note that achievement progress is not cumulative. Everything must be done in one playthrough. For example, WAR CRIMES requires you to kill 100 parachuting aliens without getting a Game Over screen. Dying or restarting from the level select screen will reset all progress. However, your progress will be stored if you simply save and quit.
  • The level select screen allows you to start the game on the first wave of each world (either wave 1, 21, 41, 61 or 81) with all the upgrades, cash and score you previously had when reaching that world. Note that this does not carry over your achievement progress.
  • Once you've beaten the last world (Titan), the game will reset back to the first world (Earth), with all upgrades, cash, shields, and smartbombs fully intact, albeit with slightly more durable enemies. This allows you to replay all the levels again while maintaining your achievement progress.
  • When you shoot down an enemy ship, occasionally an alien will come parachuting out. The alien can be shot and killed mid-air or instead captured for a cash bonus. Escaped aliens incur a considerable cash penalty.
  • Since death is permanent, be sure to have 3-4 shields at all times. There is no temporary invincibility when you get hit and it's therefore easy to rapidly lose several shield points if you're not careful.
  • Note that enemy bombs leave behind circles marking their area of effect after exploding. Moving into those areas before the circles dissipate will damage your ship.
  • The last world (Titan) is quite a bit harder than the previous ones, so feel free to use smartbombs whenever you get into trouble. Play it safe and don't go out of your way to capture parachuting aliens.

PERFECT! Level 98

Perfect Challenge Level 98

Awarded for earning the perfect score in the corresponding challenge level. The challenge levels appear after every 7 waves and provide a reward based on your result (extra shields, a cash bonus, etc). To achieve a perfect score, you need to destroy every single flying saucer in the level. The saucers don't attack and need only one hit to go down.

Early on, it's best to try and shoot down the saucers as soon as they appear. In later levels, when you've upgraded your ship, you can pretty much just sit in one spot and keep firing, as it's very hard for saucers to slip past the constant stream of bullets. Level select gives you an easy way to replay any challenge levels where you haven't gotten a perfect score yet.

Smartbombs are extremely useful for catching any saucers who almost manage to escape off the screen. The first challenge level - after wave 7 - is actually one of the hardest, because your ship will still be underpowered and it can be easy to accidentally let saucers escape. However, like with other challenge levels, 1-2 smartbombs make the task significantly easier.

ANAL PROBE

WAR CRIMES

Killed 100 parachuting aliens

See "A SPY IN OUR MIDST".

BUTTERFINGERS

25 aliens escape capture

See "A SPY IN OUR MIDST".

SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR

50 aliens escape capture

See "A SPY IN OUR MIDST".

A SPY IN OUR MIDST

100 aliens escape capture

Awarded for allowing 100 parachuting aliens to escape in a single playthrough. To let an alien escape, simply allow it to land without capturing or killing it. Note that each escaped alien incurs a substantial cash penalty, which makes this achievement particularly difficult to attain, as you will be largely unable to afford upgrades, shields and smartbombs.

For this reason, it's best to attempt this in a second playthrough. Once you've beaten the last world (Titan), the game will reset back to the first world (Earth), with all upgrades, cash, shields, and smartbombs fully intact, albeit with slightly more durable enemies. From this point on, take care to let every alien escape. You should see at least 1-2 parachuting aliens per wave.

Since you should have a fully upgraded ship at this point, the cash penalty won't affect you as much as it would when trying to get this achievement by playing normally. The last world (Titan) is hard enough without attempting to beat it with an underpowered ship.
Achievements (part 2)
10 SAUCERS

Destroyed 10 saucers

See "100 SAUCERS".

25 SAUCERS

Destroyed 25 saucers

See "100 SAUCERS".

50 SAUCERS

Destroyed 50 saucers

See "100 SAUCERS".

100 SAUCERS

Destroyed 100 saucers

Awarded for shooting down 100 flying saucers in a single playthrough. These saucers pass swiftly behind other enemies near the top of the screen and appear during most waves. They don't attack and need only one hit to go down. When destroyed, they also drop bonus points, cash or temporary power-ups. The saucers often turn up quite early in the wave, so it's easy to miss them.

SHARP SHOOTER

Got 10 skill shots

See "DEADEYE ♥♥♥♥".

QUICK DRAW MCGRAW

Got 25 skill shots

See "DEADEYE ♥♥♥♥".

MARKSMAN

Got 50 skill shots

See "DEADEYE ♥♥♥♥".

DEADEYE ♥♥♥♥

Got 100 skill shots

Awarded for destroying 100 falling enemy ships in a single playthrough. Occasionally, enemy ships will start falling towards the ground instead of exploding after you shoot them. One shot is enough to destroy a falling ship. Skill shots also provide a small cash bonus.

VOLATILE TEMPERAMENT

Used 25 smartbombs

Awarded for using 25 smartbombs in a single playthrough. New smartbombs can be earned as rewards in challenge levels, rare drops from flying saucers, or simply bought bewteen waves. Note that each smartbomb costs $100 more to buy than the previous one (first bomb costs $500, fifth bomb costs $900, tenth bomb costs $1400, etc).

SIZE OF MY CANNON

Maxed gun power

Awarded for upgrading your Gun Power stat to maximum in a single playthrough. Gun Power increases the damage of your shots. The upgrade cost begins at $100 and doubles with each consecutive upgrade, eventually capping at $9600 for the final (eighth) upgrade.

Note that earning a perfect score in challenge levels sometimes grants you a free Gun Power upgrade, so it's a good idea to try and get the most expensive ones that way. You will still get the achievement if your final upgrade is earned during the challenge level.

TRIGGER HAPPY

Maxed gun bullets

Awarded for upgrading your Extra Bullets stat to maximum in a single playthrough. Extra Bullets increases the fire rate of your shots. The upgrade cost begins at $1000 and doubles with each consecutive upgrade, eventually capping at $8000 for the final (fourth) upgrade.

Note that earning a perfect score in challenge levels sometimes grants you a free Extra Bullets upgrade, so it's a good idea to try and get the most expensive ones that way. You will still get the achievement if your last upgrade is earned during the challenge level.

GADGET FREAK

Added all addons to ship

Awarded for purchasing all four Add-Ons in a single playthrough. These upgrades add extra weapons to your ship, effectively increasing your damage output. The upgrade cost begins at $2000 and increases by $2000 with each consecutive upgrade, eventually capping at $8000 for the final (fourth) upgrade.

The first two Add-Ons each attach an extra cannon to your ship, the third one adds a missile launcher that deals splash damage, and the fourth one adds a laser that can hit multiple enemies with its penetrating shot. These extra weapons fire automatically along with your main cannon.

REWIRED IT

Upgraded addons to maximum rate

Awarded for upgrading your Recharge stat to maximum in a single playthrough. Recharge improves the fire rate of your add-ons. The upgrade cost begins at $2000 and increases by $2000 with each consecutive upgrade, eventually capping at $8000 for the final (fourth) upgrade.

ULTIMATE WEAPON

Guns and addons maxed

Awarded for upgrading all stats (Gun Power, Extra Bullets, Add-Ons, and Recharge) to maximum in a single playthrough.

ULTIMATE SHIP

Everything maxed out

Awarded for upgrading all stats (Gun Power, Extra Bullets, Add-Ons, and Recharge) - as well as shields and smartbombs - to maximum in a single playthrough.

MULTIPLIER

Got the x9 multiplier

Awarded for reaching the highest possible score multiplier. Completing a wave without taking damage increases the multiplier by one, whereas taking any damage resets it to zero. Easily reached after beating the first nine waves.

That's it. I hope this guide has been helpful.

Thanks for reading and have fun playing!

Thanks, thats what i wanted to know. Its hard to get the "100 runaway aliens" achievement starting from the begining, so i might try it from the last planet untill the end of NG+

If I recall, I got them in NG+ because the tracking carries over from the first playthrough. If you start from the very beginning, your progress for things like skill shots, parachuting aliens, etc resets to 0.

Very helpful guide, whats the best way to get the "100" achieves after i finished the game? Start on titan and do the "NG+?" or start from the very begining?

That's what I said in the first section of this guide: "It's important to note that achievement progress is not cumulative. Everything must be done in one playthrough".
Jon.Topps Oct 10, 2015 @ 4:47pm
It would be helpful in the 100 Saucers section to include that this must be done in one playthrough, regardless of where you start. In other words, even if you killed 99 saucers before you got to Titan, and then died, if you start at Titan, your counter will be reset to 0.
Starting at a planet does NOT retain how many saucers you killed.
You need to do it all in one playthrough.

That's what I meant. "The level select screen allows you to start the game on the first wave of each world."

uuuh level select? Where is that? Only select world option is available....

thanks a lot, Eat_Food !!! I'll follow your advices! byeee!!!
Eat__Food Feb 24, 2014 @ 7:13am
I second Omnisciurus, if you beat Titan and die in the second playthrough, when you select a level to start it will only have the progress from your first playthrough.

@Bob Joe: Whenever you select a new level from the beginning (rather than continuing a game that you exited out of by pressing 'esc') your kill counters and parachuting alien counters reset to 0.

I found it easier to do all of the achievements except 2 (Enemy in our Midst and Volatile Temperament) staring from level 1. You'll encounter enough saucers in the playthrough and there are fewer in subsequent playthroughs. Its helpful to do 'Enemy in our Midst' starting from Titan since in the second playthrough there is close to double the number of parachuting enemies and you should already have a maxed out ship or close to it.

Good Luck! Its a fun set of achievements!

Thanks for the answer! So I have to restart all the game :D !!! Just another question. If I restart from a world, (for example I restart Mars) with the addons I bought when I reached that level the first time... does the "kills-counter" (for the achievement...kill 100 aliens, capture 100 aliens, etc.) restart from 0 too?
