How to set up the PXN-2119 or other generic or unrecognized joystick

If your USB joystick isn't specifically recognized by the game, or if the it shows up as a blank on the controller page, this guide may help.

Installing in Windows 10

Most USB joysticks are pretty much plug and play so you may not need to do anything more than just plugging it in. However if you install the specific driver, it can add more functionality.
In the specific case of the PXN-2119, the download driver zip file may not be possible to open by Windows, probably because it's got Chinese language content. Get around this by using a third party unzipping app, like WinRAR. The install program is in Chinese, just keep clicking on the highlighted buttons it should install OK. You might then want to restart Windows, although it seems to work without restarting.

Configuring and calibrating in Windows 10 (outside the game)

If you go to Settings then Devices and click on the listed controller, there is no option there to do anything other than removing the device. To configure and calibrate you joystick, type "control panel" in the search box next to the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen. Click on the "Control Panel" app, then go to "View devices and printers", then "Game controller" then "Properties". If you have more than one USB controller attached you will see them listed. Select your joystick and click on "Properties". You should then see either the Windows 10 calibration and testing page, or the one provided by the specific driver.

Configuring in game

Start MSFS2020 then go to the Control page under Options.
The game may find your joystick listed as USB Joystick, if not anything more specific. In the case of the PXN joystick however, it will be a blank. Select this blank panel. In the filter panel on the left, it probably says "Assigned" and the middle panel probably blank. Change the filter to "All". Now the middle pane should list all the available commands that you can bind to your joystick. Click on the command you want to bind, click on "Search by input" then press the button or move the joystick part that you want to bind. It should show up in the box. Click "Validate".
Once you start binding, the game will ask you to name the profile you are creating. Do this and the blank will be replaced by the profile name you create.

IMPORTANT NOTE
For the functions that are continuous rather than ON/OFF, such as aileron control, yaw, throttle etc you must bind to the "axis" controls, such as "Aileron axis", and not "Aileron up" or "Aileron down" controls

The PXN-2119 joystick

Need a joystick with a thrust control, a slider, 2 POV hat switches and numerous buttons? Most of them cost hundreds of $$$. The PXN-2119 has all these features but can be had for as little as $55 US. Made in China, this cheap joystick isn't going to compare to your Thurstmaster or Logitech products in quality, but it will do the job. There are problems though, but you can work around them. Firstly, there is included instruction in English, but like a lot of tech products from Chinese manufacturers, the instructions are barely comprehensible. For full functionality you will want to install the specific driver, which you can download or find on the included little CD. Except that Windows might not let you open the zip file. Get around this using a third party unzipping app, like WinRAR. Once you have the .exe file unzipped run the program. You will either see a whole lot of ??????? or Chinese characters in the install program, no English. Just keep clicking the highlighted buttons, the driver should install ok.

The PXN-2119 features vibration function, which I have never been able to get to work or even test. If you know how to get it to work please tell me!

Comprei um joystick manche(PXN2113 Pro) para jogar, mas quando ele está conectado no usb do notebook o jogo começa a abrir e fecha, mas se eu desligar o joystick o jogo funciona normalmente. (I bought a joystick (PXN2113 Pro) to play, but when it is connected to the notebook's USB the game starts to open and close, but if I disconnect the joystick the game works normally.)

im not sure how you people are getting so lucky with these joysticks. i bought a PXN joystick. the two unit one. throttle unit i had to rewire as it had inverted input, and it also crashes arma 3 and stormworks. and half the things are registering. not sure if im unlucky or if their software is actually just broken

for all complaining no cd: the manual states a website from pxn where u can download the driver and install. it has NO malware. always download drivers from the provider not some 3rd party.

I just got the PXN 2119 open box on eBay. I fly choppers in Arma 3 most every day. I started with a MS sidewinder 2.0, then got a Thrustmaster hotas X (red) and found I had much better control, then got the PXN 2119. Win 10 saw and installed the 2119 no drivers needed and got in the chopper and took off, I had even better control and was very impressed and had even better control vs the thrustmaster hotas x, don’t be afraid of the PXN 2119!! I would like to have the wort hog $350 hotas of course, yet the PXN 2119 is very good and at this price point, it’s great! The throttle handle is big and joystick is a little thin so it takes some time to get used to it. The 2119 has lots of buttons to configure. The PXN 2119 is a great hotas flight controller!! I’ve received many compliments on my flying, the bad reviews are bs, if your on a tight budget, the PXN 2119 is a great choice!!

The BitDefender extended version is clean the PXN archivum in automatic routine, and after, the driver setup is can't running, because in the driver's full of chinese trojaian malware's.
Fuckin' eastern's is sell the shit's for western's,.....with full of virus and suspicious malware's for china' goverment. (data stealing routine)

I just received mine , the 2019 driver is in English and works fine. Problems with setting up in some games , you have to map everything.
Vibration has never worked for me
