Introduction
This video will show you how to use Cheat Engine and my Sacred cheat table to modify the Steam version of Sacred Gold. After watching the video, you'll be able to:
  • Change your character's skills at any time in-game, including to those normally unavailable to your character class.
  • Equip any item regardless of its requirements, including items normally unavailable to your character class.
  • Learn, level and use combat arts of other characters.
  • Summon any creature/character in the game the same way the Wood Elf summons her unicorn.
  • Play as normally unplayable creatures/characters (you can play as a dragon, Sakkara demon, Baron DeMordrey, rabbit, etc.).
What you'll need for this:
If you want to convert the cheat table to another version of the game but don't have any experience working with Cheat Engine, I'd recommend to start by watching these tutorials by Stephen Chapman.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, I'll try to help.

I'll probably do a couple more Cheat Engine tutorials later down the line (on how to use NPC combat arts and how to give armor to your companion) so stay tuned for those.

@GothicRaider iirc the game has some sort of an anti-cheat system that checks your character stats and some other things like gold. If you try to edit them, the game just returns them to the old values and your character can also explode. I didn't figure out how to bypass that. Your best bet is to export your character and see if there is some tool that allows you to modify the character file, then start a new campaign.

I´ve a gladiator with much strenght but i want to change into a battle mage. the changes are done BUT with changing my class, attributes like weapon lore or fire magic there is an another question i need to ask cause you don´t explain it. How do i change attributes like dexterity, strenght, mental regeneration and so on?

Is there any method i can do to edit that? I personally think a battle mage doesn´t wpork with brute strenght without any points off magical stats.

@CykutaVirosa note that NPC equipment works a bit strange and sometimes you just won't be able to load an item for them no matter what. I noticed that weapons, cuirasses and helmets almost always work while other items can be hit or miss. If an item doesn't show up in its correct slot, try loading it in a different slot (like gauntlets instead of greaves or whatever). It sometimes helps, but not always.

Also if an item is displayed in a glitched way (always happens to weapons I think), saving and reloading should fix that.

After reloading a save game, pointer to the NPC will update and you will need to get it again (steps 2-4 as explained above).

@CykutaVirosa yeah I never got around to doing a proper tutorial for that. Here's a quick one now

1. Use this updated table - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SFBtno3yJIBx0eQT9hJ21gN9TZIv1-Rr/view?usp=sharing

2. After attaching CE to the process and loading the table, click on the box next to ENTITIES, then on the box next to entityCurrentScript

3. In-game hover your mouse over Laurelinad or any other NPC. Do not hover the mouse over any other character or 3d object (like chests, doors etc)

4. Copy the value of entityCurrent Pointer and paste it into the address of entityCurrent

5. You can now click on the box next to entityEquipment and it will give you the list of all equipment slots for the NPC. You can edit them the same way as you edit equipment for your character as shown in the video tutorial. So put an item to slot 1 of your inventory, get the item's ID at PLAYER > Equipment > Inventory Slot 1 and paste the ID into the correct equipment slot for the NPC

Hey, thanks for this guide, it's very helpful and makes it look very simple! Thank you for also keeping the necessary files accessible.

In the intro to the video, you mention you will show us how to add armor to our companions, but there's no such section in the video. Since I love to play Sacred as a Wood Elf with Laurelinad tagging along for the whole game (which is, amazingly, possible and makes me very happy) I'd love to be able to give him equipment. How do I do it?
