LMS 4-6-2 'Turbomotive'

解説
The coolest sounding engine ever

The LMS Turbomotive was an experimental and successful conversion of a Princess Royal class to be powered by Turbines. The Turbomotive is one of the more successful attempts at advancing steam technology beyond the reciprocating locomotive. The Turbo managed to increase efficiency and top-end performance.

The Turbomotive differs from the Princess Royal in a few ways.

Namely, turbines...

Other changes are the absence of cylinders and pistons, addition of (butt ugly) smoke deflectors and some further additions to the boiler to support its turboness.

This engine also kinda counts as the UK's only inside cylindered Pacific. Only it doesn't use cylinders, but it powered the wheels from between the frames.... its a very odd engine.

So what does this mod contain?
1 (one) Turbomotive in a few liveries.

LMS Turbomotive Black
LMS Crimson Lake
BR Green
Br Maroon

So if this engine was so good, why isn't it more well known?
So, basically... it crashed.

Excerpt from Wikipedia (teachers hate it)

'On 8 October 1952, after only two months in service [after rebuilding], it was the train engine of the double-headed Liverpool and Manchester express involved in the Harrow and Wealdstone railway accident.'

A very sombre end to this mod description I know. Sometimes history be like that.

so cool to see all the innovations that were halted by postwar conditions and dieselization
