How to Start a new game without losing all of your progress

To start a new game if you've already Beaten Marvel's Avengers you need to go to:

Local Disk (C:)/Users/USERNAME/Documents/Marvel's Avengers/Your save folder

The save folder will have a lot of numbers and below it is a Marvel's Avengers.log file go into the folder with a lot of numbers and it will have all your saves.

Copy the saves and Paste them in a folder called "Avengers Save Backup"

After you copy your saves to the backup folder. Delete the saves in the save folder of Marvel's Avengers in your documents Folder.

DO NOT DELETE THE SAVES IN THE BACKUP FOLDER OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR PROGRESS THAT YOU DIDN'T WANT TO LOSE.

As of right now this is the only method to start a new game unless Crystal Dynamics adds a new game plus mode. Where you won't lose all your gear and collected Items, but you wont have access to certain characters until you progress further in the story.

This guide should be scrapped now that the devs have added the campaign replay mode.

Right now I can't even start the game because of a "not enough space" save game error. If I try this method, will I have access to all the gear and skillpoints I acquired? I already beat the campaign, looking to play the initiative..

Do you put the Backup Folder in the Marvel's Avengers folder, or do you put it somewhere else? I've tried doing it this way, but it simply restores my backup save. I do have cloud save disabled.

I did this and managed to restart the campaign but it didnt keep my skins or "progress", not sure what I was meant to keep, I turned off cloud save and deleted the save files except the profile...

For anyone saying things like, "I tried this and the game takes me back to last checkpoint like i didn't delete my save game and profile...", I just found out that the game now supports Steam's Cloud Save system.

So if you delete your saves and restart the game you will still have all of your progress and cant start a New Game.

To fix this you need to open Steam. Go to the "Steam settings" in the top left corner. Go into "Settings". Go down to "Cloud" which is below "Downloads" and above "Music" and in Cloud turn off "Steam Cloud Synchronization".

You should now be able to Backup your Savegame to a separate folder and delete the saves in the Marvel's Avengers Savegame Folder and start a New Game.
