"Скелет модели иногда называют "Rig" или "Bonetree". Каждая модель на движке Source должна иметь скелет (даже если это одна невидимая "кость", то она всё равно считается скелетом). Скелет модели - это "справочная структура" для всех полигонов модели, он так же содержит "основную кость", которая располагает геометрию модели относительно внутриигрового мира." - VALVe Developer Community
