Freeman Guerrilla Warfare is an amazing game with loads of content. This guide will help you get all achievements with ease but I recommend doing a playthrough of this game without hunting for achievements to get a feel for it and to have a bit of fun.

Introduction

Freeman Guerrilla Warfare is a great game to play and I would recommend doing a playthrough without worrying about achievements to get a feel for the game and see what it's like without hunting for achievements. I find it really fun to start with nothing and progressively build your character and army.

I hope this guide helps everyone get the achievements they are looking for.

* Important - the way achievements unlock is when the criteria is met in a save-game, so for example; if you die 10 times in a save and then make a new one, the progress does not carry over and resets at 0.

Cheats Menu

One day I was clicking every button on my keyboard to see what they did (as you do) and was surprised when I pressed the 'END' button. It opened a cheats menu with commands ranging from: adding money, experience, all weapons and even capturing cities.




There it is, a LOT of commands to choose from. In this guide I will tell you how to get each achievement legitimately and using the cheats menu. Obviously all achievements are possible the only factor being how long it takes. The cheats menu reduces the amount of time it takes. I played this game in early access before achievements were introduced so I would have nearly all of them if they were in it. Use this at your own discretion, I messed around with it in a save game, but I do not use it when I'm playing the game. It takes away the fun for me as the progression is rewarding when I play. Having unlimited money or unlimited experience takes that away.

Reputation Related Achievements

Town Outcast
Have -30 reputation



Public Enemy
Have -100 reputation



Persona Non Grata
Have -200 reputation



Easiest way to get a negative reputation is to play on the classic scenario and do some of these actions that lower it:

-2 for extorting
-3 for stealing
-5 for losing a plunder
-15 for dying
-0 for failing a quest (found this odd)

There are two methods to easily complete these achievements:

1. Dying

An efficient way to lower your reputation is to find a looter camp or even a hostile city (Uman Brotherhood is perfect for that) and enter a battle with it. Run into the red circles in the centre for camps and the middle flag for cities and repeatedly let yourself be killed. This will lower your reputation by 15 each time you die. Use the cheats menu to add money so you can pay off the ransom instead of sitting in prison for 20 in-game hours or however long it would be. Repeat it 14 times to be just over -200 reputation.

If you are going for the 'die 50 times' achievement in this run, this solution could be good progress towards that.

2. Steal spamming

The other way to do this achievement would be to go to a village, and click the steal option and then immediately click the cancel button. This will lower your reputation by 3 each time and allows you to skip the 6 hours it takes to attempt stealing. You would have to do this 67 times to reach -200.

This method requires a lot of clicking and does not make any progress towards the stealing achievements so I would recommend the first method.

Reach 300 reputation

A good idea is to start a new game if you are solely going for these achievements so you can start at 0. However it doesn't take too long to gain reputation so you could stay on the same game to keep the progress on the dying or stealing achievements.

The main way to get reputation is to win battles without dying. Take on small groups of looters, looter camps, cities with low garrisons, caravans, etc. If you are having trouble winning battles, you can lower the difficulty in the settings or use some of the cheats.

The method I use to win battles is to save up to get a sniper and a rifle as the secondary. Stay out of their range and go for headshots. If they start to get close to you, switch to your rifle. Don't be afraid to retreat and find a better location if you are getting overwhelmed by enemy forces. This method can easily allow you to 1 v 30, I've even taken a city and taken out camps. There is no permadeath, don't be afraid to try different strategies.

The easiest way to complete these achievements is to win battles and complete quests. The best way I've found is to go around to cities and pick up quests like 'destroy looter camp'. Then when you destroy it, you get experience from winning the battle and from turning the quest in. Doubling up like that can increase the amount of xp you get easily. These achievements are examples of natural progression. If you finish the game and capture every city, you will get to level 30.

Easy way out:
Use the cheats menu and spam 'add 10000 experience points' until you hit level 30.

Skills Related Achievements

The Art of War
Fully upgrade your intelligence skill


Invest all of your skill points into intelligence.

Field Surgeon
Fully upgrade your medicine skill


Intelligence is a prerequisite, so to max out medicine, intelligence needs to be maxed.

Repossession Specialist
Fully upgrade your stealing skill


Intelligence is a prerequisite, so to max out stealing, intelligence needs to be maxed.

Spec-ops
Fully upgrade your Agility skill



* Do not max out stealing if you are going for 'fail stealing 50 times' achievement

This is like the levelling achievements, just invest your skill points into intelligence and then into the subclasses being stealing and medicine. I personally invest in marksmanship and leadership first and then into intelligence but as I said. There is no permadeath so try out a few builds and different strategies. It will come naturally as you play the game.

Easy way out:
Use the cheats menu to add experience like in the levelling section and then invest all of the skill points into the required spots.

Money Related Achievements

A Humble Beginning
Possess 100,000 zolties



Slumdog Millionaire
Possess 1,000,000 zolties



Breadwinner
Possess 5,000,000 zolties

The easiest way to gain money is to win battles and complete quests. Similar to the skills section, you want to try to double up. Take on quests to destroy looter camps and then do it and gain double money by winning the battle and turning in the quest.You gain more and more money as you progress through the game as you win battles of increasing difficulty and the increased number of enemies.

The gambling minigame can also net some profit but as in real life don't put all your money into gambling lmao.

Easy way out:
Use the cheats menu to add a million zolties at a time.

Combat Related Achievements

Acceptable Casualties
Kill 100 enemies in total



Collateral Damage
Kill 1000 enemies in total



Designated Marksman
Land 100 headshots



Forced Cranial Ventilation Expert
Land 1000 headshots


The above achievements happen naturally through gameplay, but for headshots I recommend a sniper rifle and maxing out your rifle skill to help with accuracy.

Spirit of the Uman
Kill 100 enemies with grenades

This achievement actually unlocked on it's own, I think that your troops that you bring into a battle count towards this achievement and if you assist a faction I also think it counts because I definitely did not kill 100 enemies with grenades.

Teachings of the Uman
Throw 200 grenades


Can happen naturally if you use grenades in combat or you can fill your inventory with grenades and spam them in battles until this unlocks.

CQC Expert
Kill 100 enemies with a submachine gun


The submachine guns in this game are not good, but self explanatory. If you are having trouble lower the difficulty. If you die you can just do another battle there is no permadeath.

For Close Encounters
Kill 100 enemies with a shotgun



Always faster than reloading
Kill 100 enemies with a pistol


The desert eagle pistol is good.

Easy way out:
Get into a battle against 100+ enemies solo, turn on 'invincibility' and 'full ammo' and use submachine guns, pistols and shotguns.

Action Related Achievements

You and what Army
Win 10 battles by yourself


The easiest way to get this achievement is to battle some looter patrols. If you're not confident just find looter patrols ranging from 1-10, but it shouldn't be very hard to kill any size looter patrol on your own. They don't wear armour so they typically die in 1 hit to the chest.

Try and try until you die
Die 50 times


Not to be confused with lose 50 battles. This achievement is tedious if you are going for it, it requires you to run out of health in a battle (first-person not map view). Honestly the easiest way to get this achievement is to play the game and over time you will most likely die from bad luck, bad positioning, going up against too many enemies, etc. At the end, if you don't have enough deaths just do this method to get the rest.

The most efficient way is to find a higher level camp, such as a terrorist camp or cossack rebel's camp and take off all armour and disband all squads. Run into the red circles (they normally spawn in the middle circle) and allow them to kill you. Turn the difficulty to very hard and they won't miss a shot. Rinse and repeat until you get 50.

If at First you don't Succeed
Lose 50 battles


This achievement is way easier than the die 50 times one, you can grab this one in about 3 minutes. The easiest method is to disband all squads and find a force that is above like 10, it doesn't really matter. Since auto-combat uses squad members and your character doesn't participate at all, when you get into auto-combat without any squad members it is an automatic loss. Repeat this 50 times and you will have the achievement.

* Recommended: Have a bit of money so you can pay off the ransom instead of sitting in prison for 15 in-game hours

Leonidas
Win 50 battles


Just play the game and you will easily get this achievement. Fight patrols, camps and cities and you will eventually get to 50.

Stop Right There
Fail at stealing 50 times


Do this upon starting starting a new game and don't invest any skill points into stealing. You will have a low chance of successfully stealing, repeat until you hit 50. You will lose reputation for each attempt at stealing and their is a chance that the village will expel you after failing stealing.

I am doing this achievement slowly in my save-game, just every now and again just try to steal from a village and clock up the numbers. This is a tedious achievement but it isn't that hard.

Criminal Scum
Steal 50 times


Max out the stealing skill and go around to each village and steal from them, you don't have to take the items. Tedious task but not the hardest.

What a Plunderful Town
Plunder 50 towns


The most efficient way to do this achievement is to have around 100 troops and then use auto-combat to plunder a town. Beware that the villages you plunder will have to regenerate before you can interact with them. There are like 20 villages on the map, so you will have to do 3 trips plundering each town to get the achievement.

* Be careful when capturing cities, as the villages owned by that city become your villages, and the plunder, steal and extort buttons are gone. So don't take over a lot of cities if going for this. Also attacking villages lower relations with the faction that owns it.

Diplomacy Related Achievements

Diplomat
Forge 3 alliances with other nations



Politician
Forge 5 alliances with other nations


To get into an alliance with other nations is not too hard. You have to raise the reputation of what they think of your nation. To start negotiating and trading with other nations, you need to take over a city and declare independence.

Ways to increase reputation with other nations:

1. Help them in battles

The best way is to go around the map with about 100 troops and help other nation's patrols when they get into a battle. Auto-combat will make this faster hence the 100 troops.

2. Sending gifts and visits

Sending gifts and visiting cities in the 'info' menu is the easiest way to raise relations each day. Only one action is allowed per day. So remember to send gifts, don't forget.

3. Releasing prisoners from their faction

Target pirates and rebels that have prisoners from other factions, you will have a chance to imprison their prisoners upon a successful victory. Go into the prisoners menu and release any prisoners from factions that you want to improve relations with. This will net you a +3 to +5 increase.

* Do not execute prisoners from their faction as it will lower the reputation

City Management Related Achievements

Master Architect
Construct 50 buildings


Capture a city. Zalaniv is a good starting city as it comes with a hospital. Go to lumber camps and iron mines to get buildings resources, you can also find cities that sell them and you can occasionally get them through winning battles.

Farm tools, wood and iron (not iron ore) and build new buildings in your city. Focus on areas that need development for example agriculture or maybe security, each city has different needs. Continue to increase the happiness of your city and it can help with another achievement down the line.

Capture another city or two, don't focus everything into one city. There is also a building cap.

Enemy at the Gates
Defend your city 5 times


This happens naturally over time but you can lower your garrison of troops to tempt looters and other factions to have a go. If you attack other factions enough they will become hostile and attack your city.

Other Achievements

Joining the Cause
Accept volunteer troops 5 times


This can happen randomly, but a reliable way to do this is to build a lot of buildings and make citizens of a city very happy and occasionally a prompt will appear that troops would like to join.

I have never declined volunteer troops because I never saw a point. So don't decline troop requests if you want to get this achievement.

No man left Behind
Recruit all available companions


This achievement will easily take a whole playthrough to get. There are two ways to get companions in this game and it requires annoying other nations, so if you are trying to get the diplomacy achievements, do that before you try to take their named soldiers.

1. Visit each bar and recruit those available

Each companion that is available through this method spawns in bars around the map. You have to complete different tasks for them, which could be:
- Collect 30 pills
- Have a reputation of 120
- Have a relationship of 40 with the companion
- Plunder 5 villages
- Own 1 city and declare independence
- etc

Once you complete the task required, visit the bar again and recruit them.

2. Attack named enemy patrols from other factions and capture them

This will take a bit of time, the way you get these companions into your army is to fight the patrols with named soldiers from each faction. For example Olga from the Chernivkan Front is a recruitable companion. You defeat them in a battle, and imprison them. Slowly raise their compliance by persuading, torturing and executing other prisoners. Complete their task and bam, they are in your army.

There are currently 28 companions that you can recruit in one save-game but this might change in future updates as this game expands.

9. Igor - Bar - 8000 Zolties & Own a city and declare independence

11. Ivan - Bar - 12000 Zolties

12. Kostyantin - Capture (Atov Federation) - Have Olga in your party
Impossible if you execute Olga upon capture

13. Leonid - Bar - Own a city

14. Ludmila - Bar - 30 relationship & have 35 rep with Valkyrie Female Fighters
Impossible if you take out VFF before picking this up

15. Maria - Bar - Have 30 pills in your inventory

Don't eradicate any factions, at most leave one city alive so the faction is still in the game

I got all of the achievements by simply playing EXCEPT for "Joining the Cause". My tip for getting this one is to save scum. Make sure you have at least one city with a happy green face, save your game when the clock hits 23:00, and then walk until the day changes. The events are random, so if you keep reloading you'll get it eventually.

Sometimes you'll get an event where volunteers join the garrison of a city, this is NOT the same as joining you and doesn't count towards the achievement. I thought my game was bugged because I wasn't making progress until I realized there is a difference between joining you and joining the garrison.

thats my issue, the 1000 headshots ticked but the kills stood at zero. there's also a section ingame that shows achievement progress. trying to knock this game out so it can rest on the shelf, thank you for your time.

@DerpinJohn it's been a while but I'm pretty sure that this game had an issue with updating steam achievements while they were in progress. It might say 0 but it's still counting. When it popped I had killed more than 1000 enemies, but it was kills you got personally, teammates didn't count.
