How to add skins to DDraceNetwork

For both Linux Mint and Windows 10

1. Downloading the skins

Go to the DDraceNetwork website with this link
https://ddnet.tw/

Then click "Skins Database"
Choose a skin you wish to download. Then click "Download" on the right of the skin you wish for.

view Artworks in the Community Hub for skins



As you can see, the file format for each skin is a ".png". Click "Save" if you see the download pop up

2. Moving Files

Go to your file manager. I use Dolphin.

Go to the "Downloads" folder.
Select the skins you have downloaded.
Then click "Cut"


Next, go to the "path search"

Note: I used Linux Mint for this guide, so it might be different. Above to folders, point on the right of the text "Home"




If you see the cursor change to an "I". Click.

Then type ".steam/" at the end. Press Enter.


The folders you have to click in order.

1. steam
2. steamapps
3. common
4. DDraceNetwork
5. ddnet
6. data
7. skins

If you are confused with these instructions, then this may help you

/.steam/steamapps/common/DDraceNetwork/ddnet/data/skins

Then Paste the skin into the "skins" folder

For Windows 10, go to your File Explorer.

The folders you have to click in order. (what i did on my computer)

1. Windows (C:) (on the left)
2. Program Files (x86)
3. Steam
4. steamapps
3. common
4. DDraceNetwork
5. ddnet
6. data
7. skins

This may help you if you are confused
/Windows (C:)/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/DDraceNetwork/ddnet/data/skins

And then "Paste" into the "skins folder"

Launch DDraceNetwork. Enjoy your new skins :D

Just remember that anyone else might not see your skin unless they have the same skin file as you have.

just search for the skin name in the database and paste it into the top left in the tee settings. DDnet will download it automatically. Works for other peoples skins too (you will see other peoples skins and they be able to your skin)

Quicker is to go to your steam library, find ddnet, right click and search local files, then go to ddnet data and finaly paste into the skins folder

The linux path is ~/.steam/steamapps/common/DDraceNetwork/ddnet/data/skins. In linux if you open a terminal you could do it as simple as, say,

cp ~/Downloads/image-filename.png ~/.steam/steamapps/common/DDraceNetwork/ddnet/data/skins

no need to click anything

The Path Finder is the bar on the left. It says "Quick Access" on the top of it. FAR top left.
