Descrição
Final München to Venice mod. This one is very much different from the other 5: this is a completely new larger map, in the 'Large' map size. For veterans of TpF1 that have already played the map: this new version does feature some new additions that might convince you to try this map out again. New features are listed last in this discription.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod will be one of 6 versions of this map that will be released in the following days. If you want to know what version you want, here is a list of which versions will be available:

- Small map plain
- Small map with built in rail network for 1900
- Small map with built in rail network for 1900 modded
- Small map with built in rail network for 1980
- Small map with built in rail network for 1980 modded
- Large map plain (this version)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So what has this map got to offer? Well just like all of my maps from the Map Pack: Alps this map features a North-South connection through the Alps. The center of this particular connection is the Brenner railway between Innsbruck in Austria and Verona in Italy through the Brenner pass. This map includes the area of this railway, as well as a wider area that allows you to connect München in Southern Germany to Venice in Italy.

All cities, lakes, rivers, forrests and terrain types have been manually made in the terrain editor. Industries are semi-random, meaning that some thought has been put into creating in experience that encourages cross-alps transportation of goods.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Map specifics:

Map size: Large 1:3
Experimental Mapsize: NO
Number of cities: 51
Number of Industries: 57
Height range: -5 - 350
Industries: partially manual, partially automatic placement
Navigable water: only Adriatic sea around Venice and Lake Garda.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

New features in the TpF 2 version compared to the TpF1 version:
- Map made within the internal map editor instead of derping around with the online map creation tool
- Manually placed cities directly on the map (Venice is awesome)
- Some manually placed industries according to the terrain and to inprove gameplay (mines in the mountains, and
some industries only in the North, while others only in the South, to encourage cross-Alpine routes)
- Manually constructed road network (no longer shall we stand for cross-glacial highways!)
- Manually created water for the Po, Lech, Isar and Inn rivers. (this used to be a big pain to deal with in TpF1 due to the way the water level was set in that game and there was no ingame map creator)
- Manually painted terrain (wheat fields in Italy to represent the warmer yet fertile terrain)
- Manually placed forrests/trees according to a somewhat accurate tree range.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What's Next? Probably the cut map from my Baden-Wuttemberg map pack for TpF1. I am also working on a very detailed remaster of my Harz map. and 2 other maps.

Until 1900 Tyrol was not occupied and the cities still had German names, like now again: Bozen and not Bolzano, Meran .....

Great map. A no industry version would be good.

Ok, My map is finished, I sent you a friend request so you can be co-authored for creating the heightmap (which is most of the work, shall we say)

I think I'll brush the trees around the mountains, and have random patches in the plains (there aren't many of these), considering a large portion of the map is occupied by the Jungfrau massif. It kinda saves me time :steamhappy:

On the other hand, i am also working on my Harz mountain range map. There i can only limmitely use Forester because the forrested areas aren't always connected. Problem is if you don't use forester it can litterally take me months to finish such maps because to progress of checking google maps and carefully placing little bits of trees takes a lot of time and is very exhausting.

yeah i can totally understand you wanting to use Forester. On large maps making the forests look realistic simply takes a lot of time without it. but i do think in the end you can make it look better without forester than with it. The biggest problem i have with the mod is that it only allows for 1 type of tree to be used at once, so you always end up with monotoneous forests. I do use it myself sometimes, but only for small areas, or if you want to simulate really dense forests. For example the one of the maps i am working on right now is a small map in the Platinate region in Germany. This area is simply pretty much 1 big forest. then i can justify using it.

I'm now working on the foresting of the Valais map, do you have any suggestions?
(I'm thinking about using Forester, but I also don't want to overload it, or make it to monotoneous)
