Before you start
Please, do this achievement at the end of your playthrough, once you have experienced the most you could out of this game. I know most of you will uninstall the game right after you get this cheevo, and I'm not gonna force you or anything, but if you really want to have fun, enjoy the game while you can. Because it's a helluva fun game, even if you can find it for free on online browser games.

Wait, you have already seen all secrets and played the game to your heart's content? Yeah, me neither. But let's get into it anyway.

First thing, you'll have to get yourself a machine. Luckily for you, there's a limited time offer for a free for life trial of this one:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3159468625
Although you could create your own, or grab one from other brands. I'm just saying, the product mainly endorsed by this guide has a crash free guarantee.

Other products:

Made by ded_joe, it certainly does bring nostalgia for something, but I'm not gonna be copyright police, I said it in the description: "publish it if you'd like". This person certainly put their own twist in the design, and using the new liquid outlet gives it bigger kill rates that the original could ever have. Nice work!

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2761703303
Made by 2hp (also named Ivan!), this contraption comes with its own video! (in Russian, though the automated translation does a good job this time). However, due to updates or some obscure settings, it seems the machine will collapse after a couple of minutes. This is because this machine relies on the immortality serum seeking equilibrium with the human, ramping up quite a few kills in a short time. However, the tank will eventually run out of serum and will be filled with blood instead. Also, for some reason, the save has lost a property, so you'll have to manually make the generators immune to heat damage to make them last more than a minute.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2563867420
Made by Tye Evans, the Human Killer is designed with speed in mind. In fact, it's so compact it's hard to figure out how it works. Beware of the resulting bullet rain though. You'll need a high tier PC to be able to run this comfortably, and you can only build more copies on top of each other. Has a chance that the body might explode, rendering it useless (but you can disable limb crushing to fix it).

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920825028
Made by cyclopentanperhydrophenanthrene, this contraption is so efficient, it even uses two kill methods! If the electricity doesn't kill the human, the death serum surely will. Just remember that the generator is not frozen!

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3134831817
Made by gekii, these machines, while cute to look at, are no joke. As soon as it spawns, you'll be charged with the most depraved crimes in the Geneva Convention. With a high kill rate, I wouldn't recommend placing more than one copy, as you may hit the activation signal limit, and the game will turn into a slideshow. It also comes with a Time Accelerator, found down below.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2771870236
Made by Mender, this build uses temperature to kill aliens instead of humans! How original, however due to updates you need to manually set the temperature of the creatures, and again, because the life serum now changes the temperature to normal, this build quickly stops working.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2260112022
Made by hatsune miku, this mod displays a death counter on the bottom right of the screen, making it easier to test and rank the efficiency of different products!

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2167988616
Made by morzz1c, this machine speeds up time to your heart's content! Possibly even further that your PC can handle. Use wisely, and with caution.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2833810108
Made by InsanePyro, it's deliberately tucked apart at the end of the list so that most people wouldn't notice. It's a mod where every NPC that spawns will blow up and repeatedly start counting nonexistent kills by the hundreds every second. It kind of takes the fun out of the achievement, so take it as an "I'm tired of the game" alternative. I'm not gonna judge anybody, it's your game after all.
And then we start
Now that you're well equipped, let's start building a death factory, or a kill farm? (you might even say... a Lethal Company).

If you have choosen my design, you may want to read the Product Usage Manual:

USAGE MANUAL
PRODUCT ID: 267270

This product is an automated machinery made for the purpose of farming kills. It's based on the "build it yourself" iniciative. You'll recieve one (1) functional and deactivated copy of the product, as you'll have to grow your factory over time by separately placing more copies. This new version of the product allows for a freeform placement, enabling more compact builds. Though not necessary, using this product in the Void may give an FPS advantage, while also giving the user as much space as they like to expand their factory.

Having placed the copies, one might notice that the machines are not working. This is intended, as it allows unlimited preparation time before activation. To turn on the machines, you just need to activate one of the radios on top of the product. Once activated, all existing machines will become a fully sustentable, automated and independent product that can be left alone unnatended and it will still fulfill its objective while its owner can be Away From his Keyboard.

You have successfully operated your AutoKiller machinery and it's running as we speak. This version is the first design to be able to stand the test of time. It cannot break easily, nor obstruct itself. Once enough copies have been placed, upon activation, you may hear a comforting bell-like sound. Death does sound nice, doesn't it?

More information about the AutoKiller family in the "Extinction Achievement Guide" webpage.

END OF USAGE MANUAL

Now that that's done, wouldn't you want to take a look at the AutoKiller history?
And now we watch
All AutoKiller iterations to date:

AutoKiller 9000
(First version)
People Playground v1.8.1

With this first design, I started to dig into the depths of killing mechanics and optimization. It had a lot of unnecesary firepower, and soo much physics nonsense that looked cool, but at the cost of performance, and couldn't contain more than 50 humans per click (in this stage, humans were spawned in by hand). Where this form failed, the next versions shone.

Inspiration (Million kills-For Blitz) - AutoKiller V2 - AutoKiller V3
(Second and third version)
People Playground v1.9.4

Having seen the power of lasers from this build by 31Jtc, I quickly began realizing my mistakes, and ran into a new design philosophy: Fans with powered lasers. It had it all, but there was one problem, it was too fast, and the lasers weren't killing the humans. Trying to fix it, I placed more lasers and optimized the decimators. But that many lasers proved too devastating for my CPU, making it slideshow. At this level, I began searching for a new way, with fans being left behind, but lasers still coming next!

AutoKiller V4
(Fourth version)
People Playground v1.9.5

I kept trying to play it out with lasers and decimatiors, and it worked out like great, for the first minute. Too many decimatiors to contain the spawning production caused too many crashes for it to be viable. But it'll be remembered as the most beatiful version on the family. I also wanted to put a watermark on it. Won't happen again. I promise.

Testing builds
(For fifth version)
People Playground v1.9.5

Experimenting with fans again resulted in a pretty nice solution to the body problem: smash the bodies against the floor, using a ceiling fan, with an ultra sensitive limb crushing setting. However, remnants of people still came out of the constant red mist of crushing bodies. Adapting, I put decimators on each side, but then I realized, the limbs didn't come out of the red mist! They were digging their way out from underground!. I figured it wasn't really fixable, and decided to build my own crushing floor. Guess who's more optimized? It crashed as soon as I started. So, crushing won't get us anywhere, what about trying fans and lasers again? I was going backwards with this, but I was also trying out the new industrial generator-powered lasers that I discovered earlier. Nonetheless, the same problem occurred. That's why I ditched fans altogether.

AutoKiller V5
(Fifth version)
People Playground v1.9.5

After seeing the Smart Spawner mod (made by Morzzic), I was enlightened with a new wave of ideas, but I was trapped, as I couldn't copy the spawner, nor save it. But from there, I had a new idea: if I couldn't create more humans, why not heal them? From there on, my hopes were put onto creating the most inhumane machinery I could ever imagine.

The first prototypes, which I didn't save, had a human shot by a shotgun, powered by a life detector, so when the human is dead, it gives him a life syringe via piston action, and when he's alive, it blows his head off with the shotgun. But it proved too powerful for the fragile human body. Moving on, I tried using a death syringe instead of a shotgun. But it proved to be too slow to take effect, not counting that half of the time the death syringe would just rip off the torso of the human, not healthy.

In the end, I settled for a pistol, and added a lag machine to the life detector. That's how the first working machine of the AutoKiller product line came to life. It was called, at the time, AutoKiller FullVer, because I didn't think it would need another one. I was wrong.

Perfect life concoction
(For sixth version)
People Playground v1.27.5

As time went on, the game introduced a lot of new things, and a lot of new tools to kill people with. I knew my design wasn't perfect, so I took advantage of the first negative comment on AutoKiller FullVer to play the game again and find out new and faster designs, and also to update the quality of the guide.

Taking inspiration from this build by 2hp, I decided to go the opposite direction of the previous builds: the human will remain dead most of the time, only being revived and killed again almost instantly. One of the first things I noticed when playing again was quite a few new liquid machines, and those are a lot of fun. Releasing my inner alchemist-moo, I created the perfect life concoction. It's a rare mixture so that it's legally different from 2hp's "regeneration and immortality" serum. This is what I used to make further designs.

AutoKiller V6
(Sixth version)
People Playground v1.27.5

Again, 2hp showed me just how fast you can kill people with electricity. However, his generators explode after reaching a temperature of 2500 Celsius. Watching his video again, this doesn't seem to be an issue for him. I figured either I didn't change a setting he showed or the property "disable heat damage" doesn't save across workshop downloads. It would be inconvenient to make everyone change a setting or disable every industrial generator's heat damage. This rendered industrial generators unusable for me.

Instead, I tried normal generators to see if they killed as well. They do indeed, it's just that the perfect life concoction was too powerful. With a liquid duplicator, a constant flow of serum would make the human unkillable, which is a nice discovery, but not for this research! So, I used timed liquid valves to control the serum intake. But that was still too much, the generator couldn't kill the super human! Then I resorted to powered lasers, and that still wasn't enough! I had to find something that instantly killed people...

The death serum is exceptional at killing people. After creating a machine with the two serums, I thought I had it. Sadly, the death serum is constantly fighting with the other liquid, not killing the human most of the time. It also makes a horrendous sound, and has a slow kill rate.

But we'll end soon
AutoKiller V7
(Seventh version)
People Playground v1.27.5

Now comes the revelation: if there's a thing that kills instantly, wouldn't there be a thing that revives instantly too? That's when it hit me, I had been searching the wrong tab all along. Because if you stop looking at the machinery and chemistry tab, and look into the firearms, you will find it down below. Yes, it's the forgotten reconstructor.

It doesn't mend bullet wounds or blunt damage, but with our trusty death serum, we don't need to worry about those. With one shot, not only does the reconstructor revive the human instantly, it also allows for a far quicker death, given that it's one shot, not a constant flow. I learned that the time the death serum takes to kill people never goes above 1 second, and that's the tick rate of the metronome. I also learned that the game registers someone as "alive" when it has a working brain, not when its heart is pumping, that's why the gun is pointing to the head. So now you know, you can be alive with a broken heart, but you can't be alive while being brain-dead. How deep...

Finally, by keeping it simple and focusing on the basics, with just a reconstructor, a liquid duplicator, a metronome and a human, a new machine emerged, and AutoKiller V7 had been born.

And that's the end of the AutoKiller history so far!

Having seen my journey to create the perfect killing machine, and nearing the end of the guide, I think you would like to know if it truly lives up to the name:

Just how fast does it kill people?
I personally benchmarked all the working versions of AutoKiller, as well as some other products made by other people. All test were done with Steam's timer set at 1 minute, and with 125 machines of each company, most of the time. Why 125? I don't know, I just like it better than having 4 rows of copies. Kills were measured using the DeathCounter mod made by hatsune miku. Let's start from the ground up!

AutoKiller V6
360 kills per minute (with 125 copies)

Kind of sad that this is the lowest contender of the bunch. I mean, I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad. That and the terrible sound it makes, yuck!

650 kills per minute (with 125 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
Did you know this build has a video too? And also in Russian? Man, these people know how to kill. But something in the updates changed how the life serum works, and now it also cools the body temperature, rendering this system useless unless you got a macro.

950 kills per minute (with 125 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
Hey, at least it isn't as bad as V6, but it's kind of outdated. I wasn't really smart back then, so I guess you could say it was already bad when it came out. But it is cute, you can't deny that.

1100 kills per minute (with 125 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
Remember when I told you that a generator alone couldn't keep up with the life serum? This guy just put death syringes and that's it, he solved it. It isn't as fast as it could potentially be, but it works wonders. Mad respect.

1150 kills per minute (with 5 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
I really tried to place more copies, but the games just refuses to count kills once you place more than five (with 32 physics iteration count). It's really strange, I guess that's what you get when you cram so many guns in one place. But it works! At least for a while... Until the torso gives up, that is (or you disable limb crushing).

3200 kills per minute (with 125 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
See, this is why V5 didn't shoot straight. This kind of tower is a hassle to build, but it does work faster, with more FPS, and with triple the kill rate! Congratulations, ded_joe, you truly made it better than me.

4000 kills per minute (with 120 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
Though not as close to the 9000 per minute the video says, it's still a big number of kills nonetheless. However, you might want to invest in some centrifuge thingy or something, because the tanks will run out of life serum, and liquid duplicators will make the humans immortal, not to mention the system relies on the liquid seeking equilibrium, making infinite liquid kind of a problem. But that's homework for someone else.

4550 kills per minute (with 50 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
It's time for the real deal. This machine is no joke, and it could easily take the first place if I placed more copies. The thing is, any more than this and you may encounter the dreaded activation signal limit, at which point not all kills will register, if any at all. Furthermore, this is me manually placing 50 machines, just placing two of the original workshop copies will reach this limit, so unless you want to copy and paste yourself, you're gonna have to compromise. Still, it does what it says, and it does it fast. But it does make an ear drilling noise, worse than V6 if you ask me.

5100 kills per minute (with 125 copies)
Originally posted by Ivan KC:
Has all this been worth the wait? No. Has it been fun? Absolutely.
So I say "Goodbye"
(Note from previous benchmark: Kills Farm by gekii has been tested without the Time Accelerator for balance purposes).

Anyways, thank you for giving your time to read this guide, even if you didn't find it useful or funny at all. Feel free to criticize me for my bad grammar, or for trying to act all fancy and entrepreneur-like, or for salting every paragraph with bold words like it's the last supper.

However, you may find it hard to believe that I've made the best killing machine ever invented. Heh, you may even try to make one of your own, and publish it, wouldn't you? You'd like to rub it all over my face that you're a better designer than me, wouldn't you?

... What? You... already did it?

Yes, there's probably something better out there than what has been shown on this guide, or even inside of this guide. But I don't know yet! And I'm easily distracted, so even if it does show up, I might not even notice! And even if I notice, it may take a lot of time till someone says something bad about it and I finally update the guide! Good grief, this guy is lazy...

So... until then...

Thank you, for reading this guide.

Have a great day, see ya.
